  1. Agree with the above. Each episode is in four parts so it's not like they can't have 10/15 minutes focussing on different groups.

That's just as problematic as you'd be getting f**k all told each episode.

There's just too many groups. They should tie Carol into Beth's story this episode by telling whatever happens to Carol and Daryl. Then the next episode could bring Daryl with Carol and Beth into the main group.

That way, you've only got the main group and the group who were heading to Washington (or whatever their "mission" is now).

Swapping episodes between two groups for stories would be alright, IMO.

  2. Sky were not involved in the decision to postpone the network.

Bullshit. I'm not saying Sky are in the wrong, but it's clearly them who's holding it up. As TheGreenMonster says, they have exclusive rights to the PPV and WWE are trying to put out a product which violates that.

Without another contract being negotiated, surely the only way forward is us getting the Network without live PPVs?

  3. X-Men Origins: Wolverine 1/10

Even if it was any good, it'd be essentially redundant as a character piece, given he starts X-Men having had his memory erased and no memory of any of this and it therefore doesn't contribute whatsoever to his character. I mean, it explains how he gets the adamantium skeleton, but other than that it's a pretty pointless prequel.

I'm not defending the film - it's a garbage piece of shit - but events that happened in his past would still affect him subconsciously and whatnot. And he starts to remember things during the course of the franchsie, so he'd start to remember the stuff that he's "forgotten".

  4. Anyone else at the event cop a lovely mouthful of borderline abuse from the charming gentleman standing outside the Barrowlands, (right in peoples personal space, I might add) demanding that everyone 'get their hauns in their poacket fur fucks sake' for his unspecified 'charity tin'?

He was raging as no-one fell for it.

Aye, I didn't even realise he was doing it "for charity". All I heard was typical "please folks" type patter, so I assume he was a regular ol' jakey. One of the guys I was with did say that he didn't think the guy needed the money, so I guess that makes sense if he was claiming to be doing it for some charity.

  5. I'm a bit annoyed "Avengers 3" is going to be over 2 films. feels like we're being fleeced a bit

Not really, the Infinity War story is huge. It going over 2 films is a good thing rather than it being rushed over 1.

Not if they plan on doing any justice to the Civil War storyline, which can never be done in 1 Captain America film (not well anyway).

It will be done in one film, the 2 Avengers films are for other things.

Why is everyone assuming they're doing this Civil War story? Has that been announced? Or is that the story in the comics that ties in with Thanos and the infinity stones/gems?

They announced the full act three.

Captain America: Civil War - May 6, 2016

    Doctor Strange - November 4, 2016

    Guardians of the Galaxy 2 - May 5, 2017

    Thor: Ragnorok - July 28, 2017

    Black Panther - November 3, 2017

    Captain Marvel - JULY 6, 2018

Avengers: Infinity War, Part 1 - May 2018

    Inhumans - November 2, 2018

Avengers: Infinity War, Part 2 - May 2019

Captain America 3 should be a absolute belter if Civil War is anything to go by.

    Comic book spoiler.

My only issue will be how they incorporate or replace Spiderman, who was an integral character to the story.

Also I see that Thor:Ragnorok is not until after the film, meaning that something or someone else rather than the clone version that Iron Man created after Thor dying, will be used as the real catalyst when the shit kicks off. I also wonder who the victim will be, because Goliath was a big deal at that moment, which begs the question what laterally will kick the shit between both of the sides off?

I don't think Spider-man needs to be in there, there's enough without him or the X-Men to fit into one film and resolve it so the team can go on. Or they could go to the story just after Civil War to tie up one character's story.

Ragnarok could just be the typical Norse meaning rather than the Thor clone. That's what I took it to mean. I, too, wonder how they'll do Goliath's part. Nitro's too. Or if they'll even do the Civil War about the Superhero Registration Act.

  6. Buzzing Ryback is back. Hoping he'll get another massive push again.

The future is looking bright at the moment:

    Bryan

    Reigns

    Rollins

    Ambrose

    Ryback

    Bray

    Zayn

Why the f**k is Ryback on this list?

More importantly, why are any of Cesaro, Ziggler or Neville not on it? Itami and Balor (Kenta and Devitt) will be there too, assuming they remain in the WWE.

  7. Good choice. There was rumours of Keanu Reeves playing him and that would've been disastrous. Joaquin Phoenix would've also been ace but I understand the commitment was too much for him. I'd heard similar things about talks with Cumberbatch but I guess they worked those out.

Aye, good casting. Although I'd maybe have put him as older than Cumberbatch. I suppose they could make him look older.

  8. Took me a while to figure out her accent as well. Canadian right? I expected better from an actor of her pedigree.

I can't remember any season of the show starting like a house on fire in fairness. It always followed the same structure. A meh start, an excellent middle, and a circumstantial, and (with the exception of season three) an utterly daft ending.

Season one's ending was pretty good, I thought. I thought 3's was a bit meh and too conventional, for my liking.

  9. Yeah, thanks, I remember now. She got taken away in a car before Darryl met the group of 'claimed' nutters.

You would have thought Maggie would have been concerned about her sister, no?

He said it to them, did he not?

  10. Didn't Smackdown used to be on at 10/11am on a Saturday as well?

Yeah. I remember missing it a few times cause I'd stay up till midnight on the Friday and I'd wake up at like 1pm and be raging I'd missed it (and that my brother/sister didn't wake me up for Smackdown!)

  11. Many at the Liverpool show? I can't see them making any money on this tour as there wasn't more than about 150 punters at Leeds and Academy sized kvenues ain't cheap to hire out. The place was rocking though, Grado's entrance and match was super over with the English fans. He's a proper UK wide star now.

Tag Championship match was damn good.

Not too many. I don't think it was anywhere near as many as when ICW do an ABC show in Glasgow. I assume Liverpool Academy isn't the same size as Glasgow's, cause it seemed smaller.

Aye, Grado was well over. As was Drew.

    Danny Hope

Aye, cheers. I enjoyed him. He was pretty well over and had bags of charisma. Lots of wee nods to guys like Savage and Flair. Smoking hot bird with him as well.

  12. Liverpool was pretty good on Saturday night. I was horrendously hungover so that probably tainted it somewhat but still enjoyable.

I found the difference in crowd very interesting. Loads of weird chants. A lot of stuff toward Sha Samuels and Jack Gallacher for being from London and Manchester, respectively. A Boris Johnson chant for Jackie Polo and a "briefcase w****r" one for Renfrew (has that been done in Scotland before? I've only been to Still Smokin' since he won it)

What was weird, was that a bunch of the wrestlers were making really high pitched "ahh"s before hitting some strikes. Kenny Williams and Stevie Boy did it a bunch in their opener and BT Gunn did it a couple of times against Drew. The crowd really latched onto BT's, any time he went for something they'd preempt it and eventually started a "BT AHHH" chant.

Any one know who the English guy they brought out to make the Zero G (Williams vs Stevie) into a threeway was? He was kinda balding, had a bunch of tassels (prompting "tasseltastic" and "tasselmania" chants) and kinda had some Fandango-like aura. He was pretty good.

They're doing rematches of Sha Samuels/Grado and Sumerian Death Squad vs NAK (Darkside and Divers) at the Barras next month, and Dallas confirmed Wolfgang vs BT Gunn too.

  13. Great episode, but their season premieres and finales are always fantastic.

    I couldn't wait till tonight.

That was pretty epic. Heart was in my mouth a few times.

    edited to add

Did anybody else watch it right till the end, after the credits? :o

My stream thing cut out the credits but aye, ooft!

If they can keep that standard up for the whole season I'll be pretty impressed.

Although no doubt we'll spend a few boring episodes with them just walking on the road to wherever.

I was talking to my brother, he's just recently watched it and he pointed out to me, the first season is 6 episodes. I couldn't believe it when he told me cause I remember it being so much longer but everything up to the CDC happened in those 6 episodes.

Now, I don't know this for sure but it wouldn't surprise me if the network or someone like that has told them to make it into a 13 (season 2) and 16 (3-5) episode seasons and that's why there's a fair amount of filler and pretty shite dialogue.

The difference between season 1 and season 2 is massive, in terms of how slow paced it is.

  14. Devitt's debut is set to be on the NXT televised on November 6th - I think it was - in the states.

Aren't a lot of the names being changed now partly because WWE own the name, remember reading somewhere that Zayn changed from El Generico because WWE would then own the name and he wouldn't be able to go back to it if he was released?

Yes, they basically don't want a situation like CM Punk where he owns the name beforehand, uses it in WWE then can leave with it and he's more famous now because of the WWE exposure.

Obviously Indy guys want to be able to use their name if they leave WWE.

  15. I meant more for the fact that Jeff kept ending up champ in TNA. Which he happened to run/own at the time.

To be fair, Jarrett was well deserving of some of that while in TNA. It's not as if it's like Russo booking himself to win, Jarrett is a decent enough heel.

  16. Pushed back to 1st Nov

Out of the 170 odd countries getting the Network, Im pretty sure UK is last

That's not when we're getting it, that's when they're gonna announce our launch date. So it could be even later than that!

If it's a dedicated channel then I'll be doing the proxy route, On Demand is the only service I want given I'd only be watching through my computer and I want to be able to choose and watch what I want, when I have time.

  17. Aries isn't the best, either in the ring or on the mic but he's comfortably good enough to go to WWE. But he wouldn't rise above midcard in WWE. I'd love for him to be, but he's probably about on the same level as a Ziggler and he's not getting pushed above midcard. (and Aries is probably far more troublesome backstage)

  18. Actually I think I read that the Rosebuds are all just indy wrestlers from each place they go to.

They are sometimes. I'd imagine a few people will be constants and they'll fill it with local guys (like they did when they were in England, a few Scottish guys were among them).

but all Austin was was a bad-attitude brawler.

    Lolwut.

  19. WWE guys often wind up on The Art of Wrestling. So that doesn't quite work.

Aye, they don't want to give JR the business. It's clear that the company have an issue with him, probably because he's the greatest mind wrestling's ever had and Vince is gutted that it's not his and that no matter what humiliation they put JR through, the fans will always cheer him.

I'm guessing that they have a contract for the BBQ sauce and/or it does well enough business that it's worth their while selling it on wwe.com. (for now)
