Rumour is he is being released

Yeah he’s on substantial 5 figure weekly wage rumoured to be £12k plus & club keen to move him on as want to resign Joe Allen

I agree with BPM & think any prospects of us gleaning something from his sell on clause will not happen

Wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up as squad player at Forest with Cooper

I really like his interview style, I know he's quite dour but there's no flannel and plenty of honesty. Pity about the injury situation but got the vibes none were concerning long term.

I agree with your thoughts here & not dissimilar to Jim Jeffries our best manager in past 30 years

Dhanda in on a 2 year deal. Surprised they announced him today and not tomorrow.

As an exiled Jack Army member I would say that Dhanda deserves the platform to play after being sidelined at the Swans & suffering racist abuse on social media.

His strengths are his football brain, ability to pick a pass, reasonably pace & decent shot.

His weaknesses are lightweight frame, can let the game pass him by,  struggles to last 90 mins.

Will be interesting to see how he gets on & wish him the best for the season ahead.

Pars fan so I'm absolutely not going, just popped in to see if you had any transfer rumours in here and seen people judging fans for not going to what is, a glorified friendly.

I absolutely would have had it on a weekend, because that's the best time to have it. Where the most people are available, in Nice weather, 1945 on a Friday night? Christ.

If it really is all about the player I'd have it centred around the player, what about getting his favourite x11 he's played with? If your adament it has to be against some Killie side then see if you can get there Scottish cup winning side to have a "rematch", on the legends them again you could even have it as a bunch of players from that era, put some proceeds from the match to a charity of the players choice, or alternatively some proceeds go to the player.

As it is, and this is the crux of the matter, the club or the organising commite haven't made it all about the player and it is a friendly. You could at least have had it with a side relevant to a happy memory of the player, due to the time of the year a Chelsea youth side might be out the question, but surely Hibs would have been better? If it has to be about the cup run then at least have it with a game where the player has fond memories? Who did you play through the run, in the semi finals? Surely to f**k for a club legend there's a club, or a game associated to him that isn't losing a cup final? Who wants to remind themselves of that? In 20 odd years are you having a game to commemorate James Vincent winning the Scottish Cup with Inverness?

As for marketing I'd have no just how significant and important this is unless your battering about on this forum, on your website its not getting marketed as a "Kevin McCalister tribute game" it's getting hailed as a friendly.

"TICKETS FOR KILMARNOCK FRIENDLY ON SALE NOW!

Tickets for our first friendly match of the season against Kilmarnock on Friday 24th June are on sale now! The match sets the scene for the opening of the Kevin McAllister stand as the club recognises its player of the millennium. Prices are as follows: Adults – £10 Concession/Under-18s – £5 Under 12s – £1…"

All the first part of that message are conveying that it's a friendly first, not a tribute match. Maybe you should try guilt trip fans through the official website?

Ah, only a man with patter as funny as this would think a Friday night would help the attendance.

I'm sure that he's held in massively high regards by your fanbase to have a stand named after him, so if ticket sails are struggling maybe not blame the fans? Maybe the problem might just be that it's been organised shite? It's a bugbear that the fault always lands at the feet of the fans for turning up, never on the organiser's or the board for putting something decent on for the fans to attend.

Think you need a life mate 🙈

I watched Crunchie star for us in every spell he had with us including his short loan from Chelsea and class myself to have been blessed in every minute I seen him play.

From a star struck 9 year old to a 28 year old my understanding of the game changed but my joy of watching Crunchie never. Is there anything better in football than watching a winger skin a fullback ? To my mind there isn’t.

To me, this game isn’t a friendly vs Killie, it’s a chance for me to show my appreciation for a guy I loved watching and gave me so much joy.

We need to come out in numbers as we will never, ever have another Crunchie at Falkirk.

    Totally agree

Personally speaking I don’t think you can beat adidas & don’t recall we’ve ever used them

Everyone to their own I guess

Conspiracy FC's biggest fan here :D We're virtually debt free now, despite operating at zero running loss since being in League 1. Either way our ST sales are up 49% on this time last year, so maybe the community is finally buying back into the club now that we're being run the right way.

You must be the drummer boy with that kind of disclosure as biggest fan of franchise united. Who’s your proper team before the West Lothian experiment was launched?

Good grief I really needed to hear that podcast. I never realised how much till I did.

I've been drifting gradually from the club for years now for many reasons, some personal but many due to awful decisions made by the club - losing ownership of land/stadium, closing academy, terrible board, treating fans with contempt,  appointing a DOF in tier 3, appointing an arrogant, useless individual in Gary Holt...i could go on.

For the first time in an age, post the podcast I actually feel like we might, just might be moving in the right direction.

Thankyou to all involved in putting the podcast together,  especially JS who came across brilliantly. This kind of detailed, clear, positive communication is definitely the way to go. keep it coming please!

Totally concur - articulate, transparent & informative update - 🙌

I read this forum on and off, mostly around transfer windows or when something specific is happening around the club, to see any rumours or gossip but, I would never normally think about posting.  However, after reading the last few pages I've signed up only to say thank you to:

    The Crunchie Initiative

    Those who have organised FSS

    The patrons group

    The new board

    All club volunteers

Why on earth anyone would raise their head above the parapet to try to do something good for this club knowing that they'll be met with the criticism and derision we've seen far too often from Falkirk supporters is beyond me.  These people have though and they've invested a hell of a lot of their own time and money in doing so.  Without knowing any of them, it's clear they are Falkirk people trying to make our club, and the community attached to it, better and that deserves thanks and encouragement.

Who knows the talent we have in our fan base that is put off from volunteering to help by the criticism they know they'll receive?  It is holding the club back.

If we all want the club to improve we need to welcome and encourage anyone who is willing to try to improve it.  So thank you to everyone who is doing so.

    🙌 well posted sir 👍👌

    Disagree.

    1. All clubs at our level need backing from the fans in order to generate money. They obviously need us to do our part cos there’s no sky TV or foreign billionaires gona do it for us.
    2. There are huge numbers of volunteers at all football clubs and the volunteer and the club clearly benefit from that. No issue with the guy who runs the social media etc doing so on a voluntary basis.
    3. There has been a lot of talk about disbanding the academy again. Although we are a while away from any real benefit from it, it’s pleasing to hear it’s part of the plan.
    4. Tangible change? Appointing a proper manager is a good start.

I’ve always said I’ll criticise the club when I think they’ve fucked up and praise where it’s due. Since the season ended the club deserve nothing but praise. The next bit is key - getting the right players in. Here’s hoping the good work continues.

Totally agree Julio but think it was suggested that the identity of blame me might have some history / link to previous board incumbents 🤔

For what it’s worth my take is this is a SMART statement in every sense not lacking in specifics & clearly giving timelines for their goals & ambitions.

I sense from individuals such as Blame Me they might wish to challenge how achievable & realistic these ambitions are but hey as a wise man once said aim for nothing & you will inevitably hit it😎

I sense however that vast majority will see this as I perceive it to be, namely an honest, bold rallying call to mobilise the troops for the battle ahead. So all we need now is for the new management team to unearth a 2022 version of Yogi for the back, a 2022 version of Alex Taylor to boss the midfield & a 2022 version of Richie Cadette to supply the goals. Not asking a lot am I but guess the next generation of Kevin, Simon & Russell will need to wait for the following year

Any decent prospects? I've only ever been to the very first game the academy was back. Honeyman stood out but I think he may be in the u18 squad.

Not sure tbh as this will be my first time seeing them.

Aware of couple good players in Albion midfield so will be interesting watch

Nah, not really we live well within our means. But again, the crowd w**k wasn't the initial point. It was about given the continual regression of Falkirk over the last half decade and the the fact that L1 will be an even harder league to do well in next year. Is it realistic that, if you have another "Falkirk" of a season then FFC fans will drop their bizarre "sleeping giants" attitude and accept that they are the below mediocre third tier outfit that all signs point towards?

I look forward to the bUt WerE hUmuNGouS cOMParEd To AiRDrIE response.

Think the benchmark of how big your club’s ambitions are will be how many of the current Airdire squad end up playing next season at New Broomfield for the home team

Getting heavy "Jim Jefferies in 1995" vibes about this thing except in reverse.

I think he's told Rovers he will leave but will end up staying.

Will never forget the euphoria on the Saturday afternoon to be replaced with the despair on Monday morning 🙈
