Celtic's Next Permanent Manager
Jinky67 replied to Ludo*1's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Yeah which is pretty plausible. He will want to build a team he trusts and won’t want to interfere with Bournemouth’s chances of getting through the Playoffs. I know Tindall won’t be part of the team however interested to see if Richard Hughes will. Rumoured Mark Burchill will be coming in as a coach also -

Many bookies no longer taking bets so now seems a matter of when and not if Eddie Howe is announced. Daily Mail reporting it’s done. -

Agreed, wonderful footballer who deserved more success than he had and a career ended too soon. If only he could have played that 1 more season and been a part of that squad that stopped the 10, it would have been the perfect way for him to bow out, no one deserved it more -

Maybe however I don’t think you can discount that the chance of him being the captain of a 10iar winning side being a significant motivation for him staying. That opportunity to write himself into the clubs history was surely a factor. -

Not Celtic fans just me And suggesting the leak didn’t come from Brown and not trusting what is read in the press are far from the same thing tbh I believe the story, I just don’t believe it was leaked by Brown which should be a simple enough concept to grasp or am I giving you too much credit here? -

Why not? He was captain of a side making history in Scotland and had the opportunity to be the first captain to win 10 titles in a row. Maybe that motivated him more than money, maybe his family didn’t want to relocate down south. Not a question I can answer Paul McStay was head and shoulders above Brown ability wise yet never pursued a career anywhere else despite being no where near as successful. -

Haven’t seen that direct quote from Scott Brown tbf. Seems to be more of a case of Rangers fans wanting that to be the case so they can claim they have “broken” him. And his ability as a footballer shouldn’t really be a question. Brendan Rodgers is quoted as saying he could easily have played at the top in the EPL and I’m more inclined to trust the opinion of someone who clearly knows what he is talking about than the opinions of those whose only real intent is to tear him down. -

Firstly welcome back And just because the majority don’t win much in terms of silverware doesn’t mean they don’t crave it or continue playing the game in the hope they become successful. You ask most footballers what their best memories are and most of them will tell you a tale of when they won something because generally that’s what defines their careers. Scott Brown won’t be remembered for not going to the EPL he will be remembered for his success at Celtic in the same way Davis won’t be remembered for playing in the EPL but he will be for his NI caps and being a part of this current title winning Rangers squad more so if they remain unbeaten -

f**k me the amount of people beside themselves them trying to belittle Browns achievements is hilarious. Like it or not history remembers accomplishments and Brown has significantly more of them and has a piece of history unlikely to be repeated by any other captain of a Scottish side. Davis may have played in the premier league but won f**k all in doing so and again players play the game to win trophies and honours so I’m pretty sure there is only one thing Davis has that Brown should be envious of and that’s this years League trophy. And Davis is a really good player, he has had a significant impact on Rangers revival and arguably the best signing Gerrard made but I am pretty confident Scott Brown will retire quite content and will give zero fucks about Davis -

I'll be expected to put my vote for Turnbull however i saw a stat recently that apparently he is within the top 3 players for chances created in Europe this season. Not half bad for a boy who didnt get a game until November but also shows up just how shit we have been in front of goal also. Would have no complaints if Doig won either

Cheers mate appreciate that, this a great forum and generally try to contribute as positively as i can. No point shying away from what's obvious to everyone regarding Celtic. We are in a bit of a sorry state of our own doing and Rangers have properly pulled our pants down this season. For 9 years we lapped up the praise and dished out pelters to Rangers, we now need to big enough to take our medicine. Despite this shitemare of a season with PL off and if we get Howe over the line i'm pretty optimistic about our chances of bouncing back -

Call it as i see it. Getting beat 4-1 having played the game with 10 men for 3/4 of the game isn't a surprise. Majority of these players haven't been arsed all season so expecting them to then up their levels when a man down is never happen so getting massively bent out shape about it seems pointless. The writing was on the wall for this season back in October and those in charge sat on their hands and done nothing. McGregors decision making after being booked was mental, he let himself and the supporters down and evidenced imo why he should not be Celtics captain once Brown goes and from that starting 11 yesterday the only 2 that deserve a go at next season would be Turnbull and Forrest. -

He only has to stop it if it denies a clear goal scoring opportunity or for violent conduct or serious foul play. Otherwise he can allow play to continue and issue the yellow card at the next break of play. It was McGregors second yellow so hes then sent off. Thats the laws as far as im aware and McGregor fucked it not the ref by making a stupid as f**k tackle. Lets not dress it up as anything other than that, we were shit however there was nothing at stake so we move on -

No matter if the 1st was a yellow or not the decision to make the 2nd tackle knowing he was already booked was lunacy. -
