  1. Those damn experts again eh. Political scientists, what are they like. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Keating_(political_scientist)

  3. Can't remember our European neighbours being involved in the Brexit referendum.
  4. Maybe if he'd given the free kick for Ferguson trying to pull the shirt of Adams' back it wouldn't have went that far. Heard the same from Goodwin post match. Amazing what blinkers can do.
  5. More than they're making now? There is no incentive to store as the companies that sell it are also the companies that extract it. The middle man, eg bulb, octopus etc have never had the capacity to store oil/gas, and could never have made the investment.
  6. No profit in storage. This was a concern raised during British Gas privatisation. Has got significantly worse since then.
  7. The unit rate will change from tomorrow, although I'm no Martin Lewis, I can't see how pre loading your meter will somehow make the unit rate cheaper. I believe it will just mean less power for what you've prepaid. Although not having a smart meter may be a benefit in this case.
  8. I decided at the time to stay with them. Seen nothing since to make me change my mind.
  9. I'm with bulb, have a smart meter, so shouldn't really have to take meter readings. The option to add meter readings is on their app.
  10. Bar staff don't usually "take one for themselves" but take the cash as a tip.
  11. In a restaurant, I'll always give the tip directly to the waiting staff, or leave it on the table. About 10%, for me is normal. Apart from what was mentioned earlier about rounding up, I see no need to tip generally elsewhere.
  12. Thought I'd compare what I paid for heating oil 2 years ago, my last delivery before converting. To what it is now. Edit, receipt is for 998 litres. Quote is for 900

  14. There is no fuel duty on domestic heating oil(yellow kerosene).
  15. It's not only private car users who pay for fuel. If delivery costs rise, almost everything rises.
  16. His fuel duty reduction was shameful, it's gone up more than 10 times that since the turn of the year. Reducing VAT to 5% so comparable with domestic fuel would have been a start. Unless of course they were going to keep to their commitment to scrap VAT on domestic fuel.
  17. Not by me he wont, he'll be remembered for backing Tory candidates. Scumbag.
  18. There is a difference between hitting constantly advancing forces and static targets.
  19. Put an order in today for my biomass pellets, which were £295 per 960kg (roughly 6 weeks for winter) in December. My late January order, they had gone up to £305. Today they are now £345. According to the supplier, this is due to rising costs. Looks like no one is exempt from these ridiculous price rises.
  20. Protecting the tankers/surveillance aircraft.
  21. I have been in credit with bulb for over a year now, and use just over, by a £ or 2, my direct debit monthly payment. Yet since the "special administration" they have advised that I should increase my DD by almost 50%. That has been ignored... well up until now. As my electric use is only for lights/white goods, and as with yourself there is no mains gas where I am,I'll wait until the first few bills are recieved before I adjust my payments.
