  1. Thought I saw a blink and you'll miss it appearance by Matt Smith.
  2. Rogue One Smart, funny, reverential, good characters, great story. All killer, no filler. 10/10
  3. Dr Strange: 8/10 Went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. A good witty script, decent characters and no filler. As with all Marvel films there's the obligatory post credits sequence. Why do folk still leave before that comes up?
  4. Arrival 3/10 This looked promising but was a serious let down. Don't get me wrong, the acting was decent and the characters were mostly engaging, but...
  5. I preferred him in TV Burp.
  6. The Last Highlander by Sarah Fraser The story of Simon Fraser, Lord Lovat, and what was a remarkable and turbulent life taking in the 1715 and 1745 uprisings, exile in France, and Scottish politics from the Highlands to Westminster. I'm genuinely surprised that the story has not been picked up as a film or mini-series. A cracking read which gives an interesting insight into the politics of Scotland in the 1700's, it goes some way to countering the "300 years of happy union" mythology.
  7. Plan Z: 3/10 A zombie film set in Dunfermline. How would you know? Blank eyed folk shuffling around, biting you and what-not... Interesting premise let down by a disjointed storyline which has a seismic jump midway through the film, making you think What the hell happened there? Who are all these new characters? Some awful acting doesn't help either. Decent score though..
  8. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them; 5/10 Otherwise known as Fantastic Fans and How To Milk Them... I went along with my daughter who wasn't overly impressed. I nodded off. When I was awake I was just annoyed with Eddie Redmayne, with his annoying mannerisms. For a lead character he is surprisingly unlikeable. The baker character stole the show. One for hard core Potter fans only.
  9. Er, it was 71 years ago and isn't exactly a secret...
  10. The joke wasn't that they were yapping. They weren't. The joke was on his super-sensitive hearing, that he THINKS they are yapping away.
  11. Hell or High Water 10/10 Jeff Bridges voice takes getting used to, a bit similar to his Rooster Cogburn. The script is fantastic and I'll probably give it another watch, loads of little one liners that had me chuckling. An outstanding modern day western, this is a must see. Can't recommend it enough.
  12. The Purge: Election Year 7/10 Quite enjoyed this one, if you've seen the previous Purge films you'll know roughly what to expect...almost. Good to see Arlo Givens and Ellstin Limehouse of Justified in this. I didn't realise that Limehouse (Mykelti Williamson) was Bubba in Forrest Gump.
  13. Some good roads out that way. There's a cycle club in Airdrie that might suit you. I see them out and about midweeks and Sunday mornings.
  14. Smug folk who sit on the train with their feet on the seats, then take them down at the twitch of a door in case it's the ticket collector. As soon as the ticket collector has gone it's feet back on the seats again. Utter shitebags. Keep your manky, dogshit covered, who knows where they have been loafers AFF THE SEATS! Oh, and leaky headphones.
  15. Tried to watch this 3 or 4 times and couldn't get past episode 1. Just didn't do it for me.
  16. Is the puppy in a locked room?
  17. The Nice Guys 9/10 I haven't laughed so much at one movie in ages. Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe are a fantastic pairing, and I'd thoroughly recommend this. Gosling shows a real gift for comedy, both verbal and physical. . i'll be going back to see it on general release, well worth a second viewing.
  18. When you have Jim Traynor issuing press releases like that, you don't even need to think of a punchline, if you'll pardon the pun...
  19. According to Wikipedia there are only 9 people in the entire WORLD who were born when Hibs last won the Scottish Cup. It was not recorded if they were Hibs fans...
  20. When social media shows otherwise. Saw one video on Youtube taken from the Rangers end where they are trying to take the moral high ground by showing Hibs fans having a go at rangers fans (and to be honest the quality of the video wasn't great, so it's hard to tell who is having a go at who). Unfortunately they forgot to mute the sound... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gE-Gdiy_HJ0&sns=em
  21. Much like the beloved breach of the peace charge which is applied by the police as a catch all charge then?
  22. Such things. There was an atmosphere of hatred and that was a contributory factor. So if I were to stand up at a ground and shout "Gas The Jews" repeatedly you would find that acceptable behaviour?
