I just realised that I've read every single one of the 20K + posts on this thread.......and I am no further forward in understanding what's going on with Rangeers FC. What a mess! No wonder I drink......Oh, and while I'm on that subject, .....Cheers! Good luck to all on this thread, (it may take another 820 pages before this farce is resolved!)

Excellent post! The administrators at Ibrox are desperate to get away home and never have to deal with Rangers or Scottish football ever again. They will say anything, do anything, as long as it allows them to make the sharpest of exits from Ibrox. Miller has put in a promise of about £11M for something reputed to be worth £20M - £30M. He knows it's a bit of a minefield but, it might just be worth tiptoeing through it if the reward is worth it. His bid is not binding; so he can withdraw it or lower it at any time. If he withdraws he will lose his half-million quid "show and tell" deposit, but he knows that he is now the only show in town and that there's a betting chance of profitting on the deal. Even if he walks away, he will have had a look at the clubs financial details and will be in a position to "advise" others in the future. Far from being niaive, you have put your finger on the exact point of the matter: Miller must be asking himself, as you put it, "Even the diddies at the SFA and SPL are surely not that daft, they would agree to demands set by , what is basically, a complete stranger!". It is his first step into Scottish football's minefield of stupidity and hypocrisy. I think his poker face will eventually collapse and he will run away, clutching as much of Rangers assets as he can grab hold of.

Miller can lower his bid. That's according to the correspondent on Radio 5, (I didn't catch his name). Radio 5's spin on this was that the administrators, having named Miller as preferred bidder will now call on the Blue Knights, (who, as we all know, don't do walking away) to submit a higher offer than Miller. If no better bid is forthcoming, Miller would remain the sole bidder and could then decide to revise his offer downwards. So, he may not be risking £11M on Rangers after all. Personally, I think we're still at the poker-playing stage: bluff and counter-bluff. I believe the administrators want to be a million miles away from Rangers, and from anything to do with Scottish football. They are so shell-shocked that they will do a deal with anyone, just anyone, who can hasten their departure back to England. Such a strange administration! Agatha Christie wrote novels with less twists in the story - not as funny, though

.......and, just for a bit of perspective; from BBC Sport website. English Championship clubs making losses of more than £6m will be fined millions of pounds or put under a transfer embargo from the 2014-15 season. Three of the 24 clubs voted against new regulations to limit investment from owners and curb total spending. The changes will also prevent owners from funding their clubs through loans. Football League chairman Greg Clarke said: "They will begin to lay the foundations for a league of financially self-sustaining football clubs." Owners will be allowed to invest £6m next season, £5m the year after, then £3m in the 2014-15 season.

Ooooh! Clever! Have a green thing. The Record has Jim Traynor but we've got quotes from a philosopher with tertiary syphilis, so there! Hang on..... my psychic powers are kicking in and thy're telling me what Jim Traynor will write his column tomorrow; "Sometimes people don't want to hear the truth because they don't want their illusions destroyed. The snake which cannot cast its skin has to die. As well the minds which are prevented from changing their opinions; they cease to be mind." He's an awfy man, that Mr. Traynor.

There's a team plays in red, blue and white which is owned by a con-man, named Whyte. He's entrepreneural but the fans are quite feral. So, from Ibrox, goodbye and goodnight. (Yes - I know it should be entrepreneurial instead of entreprenueral; but then the limerick wouldn't scan properly. And, anyway, I think I should get Brownie points for not using the word "shite"!).
