  1. I think that was intentional. The English media love drumming up a bit of 'UEFA/FIFA hate us' sentiment.
  2. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42798952 BBC have MacLean as the goalscorer underneath the result, but the following in the article:
  3. Shame on the club for trying to bring in additional revenue through increased crowds and sponsorship.
  4. He's an absolute fraud. One of my favourite threads on Twitter is Duncan McKay calling him out for all the pish he spouts.
  5. Juve-Milan at 7:45 and then that Golazo film at 10. That's my Saturday night sorted.
  6. It's not even up for debate. Even when we did fairly well last season, Houston's team was pedestrian AF. After conceding possession, we'd drop off and not attempt a tackle until the opposition reached our box. Under Hartley we press as a team and have much more urgency with the ball.
  7. He was dreadful on the BBC for Celtic-Morton the other week. Insights like Morton were 'up for the battle' and Celtic wouldn't want to get involved in a 'fist-fight'. There was also a moment in the match where Morton broke forward and Ajer came rushing out of position to win the ball and he suggested that Morton wouldn't be used to players who were comfortable playing the ball. As well as being ignorant and disparaging towards Championship teams, it was also complete nonsense as Ajer had booted it straight out of play
  8. Had the misfortune of listening to Sportsound on Saturday as I was driving and wanted to keep on top of the scores. Dearie me, is it always that bad? Highlight for me was Chick Young saying Steve Clarke was a 'proper old school manager' because he looks serious in his interviews and then started rambling about how he used to be scared to phone Jock Stein. WTF Based on a couple of their matches I've watched and some Twitter analysis pieces, I'd say Clarke is one of the more progressive managers in the league due to the tactical organisation and they way they press. Not surprising these dinosaurs on the radio still think management is all about shouting at players and games are won by effort and passion though.
  9. I think this is going right to the wire. Juve obviously have the points gap and home advantage in the remaining fixture between the two, but they still have to face Roma and Inter, both away, so I'd argue they have a tougher schedule. Also worth noting that should they get past Real, they'd be playing a sequence of Napoli at the weekend, CL semi midweek, Inter weekend, CL semi midweek.
  10. In short, no. Inter hadn't scored an away goal from open play since November and had been on a pretty awful run of form in general. But when they (mainly Icardi) turn it on they can be unplayable. That said, for a team that had only lost twice at home and taken the scalps of Juve, Milan and Atalanta, that was a pretty spectacular case of shitting the bed from Samp. Completely fell apart after the first goal.
  11. They had a belter of a game at Leipzig last season.
  12. Oscar and Hulk were directly involved in 7 of the 8 goals. I also watched the Guangzhou derby last Friday and the standard of defending and goalkeeping was absolute banter. In that game 8 of the 9 goals were scored by overseas players. On my limited experience of this league, it seems like teams generally only pay big money for attackers and results hinge on which overpaid foreigner(s) turn up on the day.
  13. Think he'd be decent for Juve as they look to phase out Marchisio and Khedira in the coming seasons. He's very composed on the ball and the pace in Italy and the way Juve dominate games would suit him. Not sure where he'd fit at Madrid though.
  14. If Negan doesn't die this season, I'm done. They're dragging the arse out of it and there's been so many opportunities to get a clear shot at him.
  15. Morelos is a striker. And the highest scorer in the Premiership for that matter. I didn't enjoy any of that today, but we could be top of the league and would still have been bodied. That's the difference in class between the top 3 in the Premiership and any team in the Championship.
  16. Usually agree with your posts, but this needs a bit of perspective. St Mirren and Dundee Utd both had similar scorelines away to Aberdeen this season and they're the champions elect and play-off candidates. Today shouldn't have any bearing on the rest of our season or who we recruit next season. Like it or not, Rangers a level or two above what we need to be next season.
  17. Absolutely laughable performance from Rui
  18. All 3 Roma goals coming down the left. Rui has been ropey for weeks. Not signing a LB in Jan could well cost Napoli the league.
  19. Thought the ref shat it with the keepers handball too. Two big decisions that completely knocked Barca off their stride. Huge game on Sunday.
  20. The Maradona episode of Golazzo was a really good listen.
  21. We're currently on 29 points having played 25 games, soI think they're correct, but a couple of weeks old. Still a shocking mistake.
  22. Aafjes was ball-playing CB before they were cool. Absolute baller.
