Not best pleased about Austin going tbh. There's clearly a player in there as evidenced by him having one of the best goals/minutes ratio in the division last season. The fact we paid money for him suggests that we expected him to kick on and attract a fee from someone. Seems a bit short-sighted to get rid when he's having a poor spell in a shocking team and being asked to play a role that clearly doesn't suit him.

Can't link it ATM, but Copa90 had an interesting video on their FB page where they visited a number of different teams in Berlin over the same weekend. Seems like the city has a lot of teams at many levels in the league set-up and fans have close connections to their local teams, so may also be a case of the population being spread rather than focused on one or two big sides.

If we're going to be picking up players released by other academies, we need to be smart about how we scout them and not just picking up any old dross that's released by the usual suspects (e.g. Harris). Analytics can be a very cost-effective way of narrowing down your targets and only utilising scouting resources on those who have genuine potential.

Milan have spunked about €200m on largely average players, so it's not that surprising they've made a shan managerial appointment.

Bayern have had a result like that coming. The performances under Heynkes haven't always matched the results and the injuries aren't helping. The game against Anderlecht is probably the worst I've ever seen them defensively. Gifted them about 4 one-on-ones in the first half alone.
