Not disagreeing with you here, but if the players have stopped playing for him, I still think he has to go in that scenario. It might not seem 'fair', but you can't (realistically) sign a full new team, so you make the one change that should improve their effort, attitude and performance.

Thomson has shown himself to be a decent enough shot stopper. His kicking was poor today, but he was aiming for Harris on the right every time (probably the smallest player on the pitch). That tactic is surely coming from the manager. In the league cup games McKee was dropping deep and we were playing out from the back. That seems to have been completely binned and we're now launching balls to short players on the touch lines. No wonder his distribution looks poor.

This. Leipzig had such a good season last year that it was hard to justify dropping anyone for him. Werner had the most goals of any player under 23 in Europe's top 5 leagues, Forsberg the most assists of anyone, Keita has a £70m price tag now and Poulsen is an absolute beast in the air. No shame in being unable to break into that front 4.

Franco di Santo I watched quite a bit Leipzig last season and their poorer defensive displays always seemed to be with Upamecano starting. He's a great athlete for an 18yo, but he's a bombscare. They're much more solid with Orban and Commper as the CB pairing.

Was actually a pretty tight game. Schalke looked really uncomfortable with RB's high press until Upamecano had a howler to give away the penalty. The second was a counter while Leipzig were pressing hard for an equaliser.

We've got some really good attacking options (for this level), but our default when things aren't working is hoofball to Miller. Time for someone with fresh ideas IMO.

It was near impossible for the lesser teams before the introduction of Irish/Welsh sides. In the decade before the format change only 1 team outside the Championship/1st Division won it and that was a Queens team that romped League One. Your point about these teams competing in Champions League qualifiers is moot as well; they may be league winners, but they're absolute gangs and were beaten as soon as they faced decent Championship opposition last season. There's plenty reasons to be critical of this competition, but what you've said above isn't one.

A couple of poor transfer windows have really hurt Barca. They need to get it sorted ASAP or they could face a couple of seasons without a trophy.
