  1. Still not understanding why we've signed two defenders in the window to still have Muirhead at RB.
  2. Was tempted for handicaps on this, so was looking at Malta's home record in the last 10 years (27 competitive games) and they've only lost by 4 or more on 2 occasions (Portugal in 2008 and funnily enough, ourselves last year). Alli is a good shooter from outside the box, so it's worth a punt, but i think it's unlikely to be a drubbing tonight.
  3. Not overly impressed with the business done yesterday. We've made two signings, but are still playing a young, unproven LB, haven't significantly upgraded CB on the face of it (happy to be proven wrong with Balatoni) and there's still the potential to have Muirhead at RB if Houston prefers to use McGhee at CB. All things considered, I still don't think Houston has addressed the issues with the squad.
  4. This for me as well. We have an abundance of CBs, but I'm not convinced our options at wing back are great and it means we don't play with any wingers.
  5. McGhee is listed on Transfermarkt as a RB, so I'd imagine that's what we've signed him for.
  6. A centre back released by Ayr is exactly what we need IMO.
  7. 22 appearences for Hearts the season they finished 3rd too.
  8. Signing Ian Black would surely tip even the happiest of happy-clappers into the 'Houston out' camp. I'm all for it tbh.
  9. Except he was. Club allegiance had nothing to with it. The article absolutely stunk of protectionism and the 'jobs for the boys' culture that's prevalent in our game.
  10. Only saw the first half, but was suprised at how poor Milan were defensively. They conceded a lot of shots from the edge of the box, were fortunate with the one off the post and got out of jail when Bonucci bundled over Jao Pedro.
  11. It's sound lads, Bill Leckie says Houston is a 'forward thinking manager' and reckons he'll turn it around. Panic over IMO.
  12. Might only be in the print version, but my mate sent me a picture of a Bill Leckie column from the Sun where he's defending Houston and describes him as a 'forward thinking' manager
  13. Does Bet365 offer the BTTS in both halves market in-play? Think that's that what I'll be sticking my free £50 on today.
  14. Not disagreeing with you here, but if the players have stopped playing for him, I still think he has to go in that scenario. It might not seem 'fair', but you can't (realistically) sign a full new team, so you make the one change that should improve their effort, attitude and performance.
  15. Thomson has shown himself to be a decent enough shot stopper. His kicking was poor today, but he was aiming for Harris on the right every time (probably the smallest player on the pitch). That tactic is surely coming from the manager. In the league cup games McKee was dropping deep and we were playing out from the back. That seems to have been completely binned and we're now launching balls to short players on the touch lines. No wonder his distribution looks poor.
  16. Blame Jeff for that one. Still a positive for your lot though.
  17. Andy Ryan got 2 for Dunfermline today. Said a few weeks ago he'd be worth a punt, but here we are wasting two years of wages on Shepherd.
  18. He's expected to start against Stoke, so the first match on 'Super Sunday' just became semi-watchable.
  19. This. Leipzig had such a good season last year that it was hard to justify dropping anyone for him. Werner had the most goals of any player under 23 in Europe's top 5 leagues, Forsberg the most assists of anyone, Keita has a £70m price tag now and Poulsen is an absolute beast in the air. No shame in being unable to break into that front 4.
  20. Bet365 doing the £50 free bet again this weekend on Liverpool-Arsenal.
  21. This got posted on the COYB Facebook page. I didn't attend, so can't confirm the accuracy.
