  1. There is no sour grapes . No one disputing that we were well beaten by a well drilled and physically superior team. We had to have 11 players fully on their games, concentrating throughout - that was blown away inside the first few minutes. We gave it a good shot up to half time and then a forward gives away a penalty inside 10 seconds of the restart. Just a pity we didn't keep it tight for longer to make for a more exciting 2nd half. I don't agree with those who are criticising the ref. I think keepers are over protected these days. However, if you see the Gartcairn v Darvel and the Scotland highlights both incidents, similar to this, were given as fouls, which is the point that someone else was trying to make.
  2. I agree that his timidity played a part which , unfortunately for us and the lad is currently a feature of his game. It would not have happened at the other end.
  3. Check the footage that is available. I suspect you were both at the other end of the ground. It was a foul.
  4. Howler by our keeper for the first. The 2nd was a foul on our keeper. We take some small consolation from scoring the best goal of the match. I think it is called giving a spirited display. Talbot just too professional and clinical for us on the day. Hopefully some of our young lads will have learnt something from the experience.
  5. I hope we turn up and give a good account of ourselves. We are capable of playing some nice football , particularly on a good surface. Big day for us and we will be well supported. Fingers crossed.
  6. I was on the other side and genuinely was oblivious to this incident. However, from what you say, the ref saw it
  7. I don't disagree but, at the risk of splitting hairs, we had several shots that went passed the post.
  8. Was that your goal or ours? Absolutely no idea what you are referring to. Don't recall your keeper having a save to make so he wasn't a factor, apart perhaps from his kicking, which wasn't great.
  9. Lanark 1 Shettleston 1 Little between the teams but thought they missed the better chances. Lanark took the lead on 71 minutes which they only maintained for 5 minutes
  10. It certainly isn't a laugh when you turn up to follow your team and find out a fair chunk of a small squad has gone off on holiday all at one time! However, I do accept that it is a hobby/pastime and is the individual's choice.
  11. Gets me down big time. The Gow had 6 go off on a stag do at one time last week. A right kick in the teeth to those who work so hard for or follow the club.
  12. Really? So sorry. Didn't realise you were a follower. Them's the facts however.
  13. Actually thought we played quite well today, despite 3 key players being on holiday to add to our woes. Fielded Played a 15 year old schoolboy and fortunately got no injuries so we didn't have to play one of our youthful subs. We missed a good few chances and Gareth Hallford was on top form, pulling off several excellent saves.
  14. Girvan docked the points today due to the circumstances of today's fixture being called off?
  15. Lanark well beaten in the end against the best team we have played this season. We had a few chances but we were just not on it today. Nothing on the bench to challenge the 11on the park, which is the worry. 4 key players missing which is hindering us. Thankfully a grass park but not a great watch at Bellshill. My pie was just OK.
  16. And then there were two. Gareth has signed for Gartcairn I've been told. It is a pity that both sides couldn't settle their differences. Best keeper we've had in my time watching Lanark. Good luck to him, as long as it starts the week after next
  17. Colin McGraw has signed so we would seem to have 3 keepers on our books.
  18. From last weekend in July to last weekend in September we will have played 17 matches over 10 weeks, which is ridiculous. We have suffered terribly from injuries and fatigue. Crazy to cram in so many fixtures. Whilst the prospect of a cup final in October is nice, I'd happily have settled for 7 fewer fixtures( which would include the final) to give us a much better chance of promotion. Club may well say different having had two pay days from fixtures at Pollok and Talbot.
  19. Lanark 4 Girvan 1 - what a comeback by wee Chucky Watt! His first game since sustaining a bad knee injury in our first 'friendly' of the season v Forth in the Clydesdale Cup and he scores a hat trick! I believe Shug Kerr, who scored the opener has scored 25 goals already this season. With wee Chucky back we are going to have a big say in the promotion race this season. Believe we had ex Larkhall keeper McGraw ( ?) making his debut after a couple of shaky performances by our young keeper recently. And there was me on holiday and missed it all! Back for the top of the table clash at Bellshill next weekend.
  20. All for a fiver! 1 down in first minute. One of our youngsters equalises 60 seconds later with a super finish to a good move. 2-1 down in 6 minutes and 3-1 on 21 minutes. We continue to lose shitty goals, which all 3 were today. Pulled one back 30 seconds after the restart and then proceeded to batter EK. Lost count of the chances we missed, the blocks they made and the superb saves their keeper made until we equalised on 88 minutes. Still time for Dougie Imrie to miss a golden chance on the 90th minute whilst through one on one with the keeper. Our 3 holiday makers will be back next week along with 2 of our 5 injured players which gives me confidence for the matches ahead. EK in the best nick I have ever seen it today.
  21. Schoolboys on the bench. My concern is what they are going to suffer injury wise due to the fatigue.
  22. Lanark pulled back a 0-2 ht deficit to draw 2-2 with Glasgow Perthshire. Our defence continued the trend of conceding 2 soft goals, the second right on half time. Perthshire a warded a very iffy penalty which our keeper saved. Thought they could have been awarded a penalty in the 1st minute however. A Conlon header and a Kerr penalty ( his 22nd goal of the season!) got us back in it. To illustrate how we are struggling to put a team out we had to get our ex stalwart captain, 37 year old Davie Gray out of retirement today. I believe it is a couple of years since he has played apart from 5's! It really is shocking to have seen the state the players are in physically after the game , having played so many games in the past 5 weeks. I am praying for rain all week and hoping the infamous EK pitch does us a good turn and is off next weekend.
  23. I have been told there is no chance of the Lanark v Glasgow Perthshire game being off
