  1. Well done to The Gow. A well deserved promotion indeed.
  2. Still possible, despite making it hard for yourselves.
  3. Lanark 2 Muirkirk 0 Well deserved but hard fought victory against a good team. First half penalty confidently struck by Lewis Hill and then a beautiful chipped shot from outside the box by schoolboy sub Jordan Fraser sealed us the points. Muirkirk tried to play some good football in the first half and had their chances. Impressed with their number 4 5 games to go and still very much in our own hands.
  4. Thorniewood v Carluke should be interesting. You'll be hoping ( like us!) that Lanark have a home win.
  5. I have watched it again and I have to concur with your observation. Good spot.
  6. Would only have been a throw in! 3rd goal clearly well offside, which, tbf, I was unaware of at the time.
  7. A bad decision by Forth to not utilise him well enough as he is the fox in the box.
  8. Never. We missed about 10 penalties earlier in the season by Lewis Hill has only missed one ( I think) and scored a pile including 3 in one game otherwise our keeper would have had to be on the list to try his hand. St Ant's are always difficult opponents so another good win for you. I was concerned going into today's game with Thorniewood desperately needing a win and us without 2 of our best performers. However, despite how poorly we played we dug out yet another victory. We have not had a single straightforward victory for months, which is a great testament to the fighting qualities of our team.
  9. We also got away with the one that we saved off the line. I am unfairly comparing him with our normally excellent keeper. That said, it was not his fault we were so poor today.
  10. 18 year old lad, who played like an 18 year old. At fault for their 2nd and 3rd goals. What a game. We were very poor today. Amazing the difference after last week. One up after 3 mins. 2-1 down at ht but Cammy Lawson scored a free kick from 35 yds to equalise. The legend that is Shug Kerr fractured his shoulder last week but came on as a late sub. He was taken out in the 89th minute to enable us to equalise from the spot and then he scored a bullet of a diving header to win it for us 4-3 in the 94th minute. The free kick was given after a Thorniewood coach came onto the field and volleyed a ball in the air before marching up the tunnel in anticipation of a red card. I believe the ball was going out for their throw in!!
  11. If they don't beat Muirkirk today I'd say they have very little chance. I think Ashfield can ill afford to drop another point to thwart either Thorniewood or Muirkirk
  12. We still have Thorniewood away and Muirkirk to play home and away, both of whom can still go up so lots of potential slip ups to come. Who knows? As the saying goes, the league table never lies.
  13. At least you got a reasonable day for it. My least favourite ground as a spectator.
  14. Congratulations to Lanark for being the first team promoted this season. Very well deserved
  15. Sorry, only just saw this. yes, tongue in cheek. Sufficient to say that only one team deserved to be in the last 8 today and they are not in it. We were much better than Troon today but were hampered by wee Chucky getting a questionable red on 35 mins. The Troon keeper had 4 fantastic saves and we should have got at least one of the 3 penalty claims that we had.
  16. Good luck to Carluke today. Would be good if all three local teams got promoted If Ashfield drop a point today Lanark will be promoted.
  17. Was the ball out more than it was in? Rather windy up there at the best of times but blowing a gale today.
  18. Will be nice to play in decent conditions again. Same for both teams and whilst we have won 5 and drawn once this year our style of play has been affected badly and we have not played that well, despite the excellent results.
  19. Lanark 4 Annbank 1 Despite scoring in the 1st minute we made life hard for ourselves again today in poor conditions. Missed a pile of excellent chances. I think that is us promoted unless we lose all of our remaining games and Ashfield turn around a 29 goal difference whilst winning their remaining 4 games
  20. It is Annbank and I have no idea why I keep thinking it is Saltcoats! Been a bit wet today but the pitch was in good nick when I was up there earlier so should be ok as long as we don't have a deluge overnight.
  21. Anyone coming to the Lanark v Saltcoats game tomorrow should avoid the town centre as the main st is shut on both sides. Best to come in from the Hyndford Bridge end of town. Pitch is going to be heavy and the badgers have been at one of Geordie's penalty area's. He will be out there right now repairing it in the dark, knowing him.
