  1. That 'statement' could well backfire. If I was a top club in the west, I'd see that as one less hurdle if you pull the trigger early.
  2. Disappointing, would have been a major signing for Div
  3. Have to assume Bonnyton will be watching with particular interest.
  4. You'd think this was a perfect scenario for small west junior teams to get a massive jump on their traditionally bigger rivals. I'm sure there's examples of this in the east, albeit with the conferences.
  5. The fact you can see posts, when quoted, from people you have on ignore, is a major flaw in this fine forum's design IMO.
  6. Can sense @glensmad is on the verge of having a heads gone. I am and i'm only reading it Sweep - if the west comes on board at tier 6 as everyone will agree is the sensible option, 2 things will change. 1. The winner of the top West league will have the chance (perhaps guaranteed, that's tba) to be promoted, better themselves if you will, which as you already pointed out, you're in favour of. 2. The name of the league, and even that isn't necessary. There's no reason to bin off any sectional cup (haven't people wanted rid of this for ages anyway, or was it a different cup). It could even be the Alex jack or whatever it's called, of the west. But these options cant be put forward from outside the room My personal opinion is, the lack of progression, will only frustrate and push the more forward thinking and progressive clubs to investigate a breakaway. A team like Gartcairn for instance would probably be keen, they would immediately jump above the traditional big junior teams. If that comes into play, those same big teams will realise they aren't required for the pyramid and have no real leverage, they could soon find themselves scrambling to get in at tier 7. In which case be under no illusion, they wont give a toss about propping up little teams. Kelty moved and were seen as 'traitors to the grade' and even 'not a real junior team anyway'. The following year the big teams in the east were applying left right and Chelsea, as they could see what they'd be left with. Playing in a much degraded league, with smaller attendances and moving over the following year would see them 2 leagues below teams they'd previously been above. I imagine a lot of the east juniors now understandably feel stuck between a rock and a hard place - Their own doing of course. Apologies for the ramble, but it's kinda the point of PnB :-/
  7. Some serious acting chops there... And Donny Osmond I should have been a thesp, or a Mormon.
  8. 'a source told me' or variations of, have a fantastic record on this forum, pyramid threads especially. [emoji106]
  9. For those interested, there's a guy on YouTube called bald and bankrupt, goes to a lot of these places, as well as weird stabby Russian places.
  10. I live in the liberal paradise, the people's republic of Bristol, so it's not exactly a representation of England as a whole. but Scottish nationalism is talked about in 3 ways. 1. FCUK OFF THEN!!!11!! you'll be crawling back when we take OUR submarines!!!!11! / oil / government jobs, Subsidy junkies etc 2. The much worse, patronising, "I'm sure it seems great, but you're just too poor/wee/stupid" 3. The liberals - WTF were you thinking voting 'no' last time. On the subject of English nationalism, all you ever hear is "you can't be proud to be English or people call you a racist[see Stewart Lee]" - utter horseshit, but much easier to say than, they could never be bothered with nationalism until everyone else did, and nobody can be bothered taking the mantle back from the EDL types.
  11. Imagine being a grown adult and cutting about wearing a rucksack! *Unless you are one of the good guy cyclists and are therefore woke enough to get away with it.
  12. Left Fife for Bristol 11 years ago. Still love Bristol as a city, as young guy it was fantastic. The area near where I live is quite near the independent (hipster) district, and there's usually something interesting going on. Also given the "interesting" trading history of the port of Bristol, means there's a lot of 2nd / 3rd generation African and Caribbean populations, as a result there's some really good food available. The Irony that they take the piss out of my accent though when they talk like farmers will never cease to amaze me. It's also close enough to do things in other cities in a day, Cardiff, London, Brum. with weekending in Cornwall / Dorset / S.W. Wales easy to do. One thing I'm glad to have left behind is the old firm nonsense that seems to work its way into everything back home. *totally agree with the south Wales comments, you get a lot of them on flights out of Bristol bris as Cardiff airport is a bit crap, the valley mutants are almost always a complete nause
  13. It's only a base and they'll be adapted.over time. Tbh if they can follow closely and the racing is good, that's more important
  14. No spoilers but all 3 races were good and worth catching on the ITV player.... Goes right to the wire
  15. Autosport have changed there mind and have decided to charge £10.99 instead! Also quali and race could be effected by the typhoon. May I say on behalf of the F1 fanbase... 'fcukin yaaasss'* *So long as we still get a race
  16. They should mention that Barry Ferguson is the manager.
