  1. Angelo Alessio has revealed he spoke to his trusted Italian confidant Antonio Conte before accepting the job of replacing Steve Clarke at Kilmarnock. And he has opened the door for Inter Milan prospects to be sent to Ayrshire to develop their trade........ "I spoke with Antonio," he said. "We were together for eight years, a long time, and won a lot of trophies and titles. "But he understands my dream and my desire to start a new career. I think he's happy for me and wished me good luck. "It's possible we can take some good young players (from Inter) and bring them here.
  2. Killie have confirmed Scott Boyd will leave us to be your new Sporting Director. That's a great opportunity for him, I'm sure he will do a great job for you guys.......
  3. The club can confirm that defender Scott Boyd will leave Killie to become Sporting Director at Ross County. The 33-year-old spent three seasons at Rugby Park having initially joined Killie on loan from the Staggies in August 2016. Scott played an important part in Killie’s revival under Steve Clarke culminating in 24 appearances in 2018/19 as the club secured third place and a return to European football. In addition to his hard work and dedication on the field, Scott completed an internship in the Rugby Park administration office as part of his sports management degree. Scott graduated during the 2017/18 season but continued to help the club’s admin staff when the first team training schedule allowed. With his mixture of warmth and humility, Scott was extremely popular with staff, management and players alike. Everyone at the club would like to thank Scott for his contribution to the club and we wish him good look on his return to Dingwall.
  4. Phyllis tweeted UEFA will write to the club tomorrow to confirm the away date as both Belgrade teams came out the hat as home 1st leg....
  5. There are plenty of Killie fans who have questioned how RC ever came to the decision to let him go over the past few seasons tbh.....
  6. You won't hear a bad word about him from Killie fans, an absolute gentleman, done a terrific job for us when called upon. If he leaves us, he does so with everyone's best wishes. I'm not sure if your aware, but he now has a degree in Sports Management. In his final year he did his last 6 months sponsored by the club working besides our CEO, training in the morning then working the rest of the day upstairs. Perhaps that's the type of role he will be earmarked for in Dingwall.
  7. He signed a new 1 year playing deal with us back in March, but from what I've heard, the knee injury he sustained on his Posterior Cruciate Liigament, is worse than first feared, it may well have put an end to his playing career.
  8. KRIS BOYD is hanging up his boots after a record-breaking career. SunSport can reveal the Kilmarnock legend, who will turn 36 in August, has played his last game. Boyd bagged more than 300 goals in an 18-year career, including seven in 18 Scotland caps. He hit six for Steve Clarke’s Killie last season as they achieved their highest league position in 53 years to reach today’s Europa League first qualifying round draw. His decision to bring down the curtain on an illustrious career will be a blow to new Killie boss Angelo Alessio. It’s understood he was keen to keep Boyd at Rugby Park as he looks to build on Clarke’s excellent work. Boyd has had other offers to keep playing, with former Scotland team-mate Gary Caldwell eager to take him to Partick Thistle next term. It’s understood Boyd will resist the temptation to move into coaching, preferring instead to further his blossoming career in the media. Boyd made his Killie debut as a 17-year-old in 2001, replacing Ally McCoist in the last match of his playing career — a 1-0 win over Celtic at Rugby Park that sent Killie into Europe. He had three spells at Killie and two at Rangers, scoring more than 100 league goals for both clubs. He also starred for Middlesbrough, Nottingham Forest, Turkish side Eskisehirspor and MLS outfit Portland Timbers. Boyd won two league titles, two Scottish Cups and two League Cups with Gers, scoring in the final of both major cup competitions. He won the Kirin Cup with Scotland in Japan in 2006 — scoring twice against Bulgaria — as well as a raft of personal honours. The frontman was top scorer in the Scottish top-flight five times and remains the all-time top scorer in the SPL era. He was shortlisted four times for the PFA Scotland Player of the Year award and once for the Young Player prize. Boyd joins Jordan Jones and loanees Daniel Bachmann, Liam Millar, Youssouf Mulumbu, Aaron Tshibola, Mikael Ndjoli and Conor McAleny in leaving Killie. Alex Bruce is also out of contract.
  9. AA's 1st presser is confirmed for 2pm on Thursday 20th June, it will be available on KillieTV along with the clubs own interview.....
  10. On Sunday Kilmarnock made one of the most interesting managerial appointments in recent times in Scottish football. The Rugby Park side were on the hunt for a boss to fill the considerable shoes of Steve Clarke who, in less than two seasons, led the club from scrapping in the muck at the bottom of the Ladbrokes Premiership to their highest finish since 1966 and a return to Europe. His work with Killie saw him appointed as Scotland boss to the delight and expectation of a lot of the country's fans. Between Clarke's departure and Alessio's appointment, a number of managers were either linked to or expressed an interest the post. A lot of the names were have-beens or never-beens, ones bandied about with every vacancy. The Italian's arrival came from left field, and it is a field which excites. Is it a risk? Of course, there are very few managers anywhere in the world who are nailed-on certainties to be a success. Fans want to be enlivened by an appointment, especially when they have witnessed one of their greatest ever managers depart. An exotic name does that, but more than anything it is Alessio's CV, both as a player and a manager. With more than 100 games for Juventus which included a Coppa Italia and Uefa Cup win, as well as spells at Bologna and Bari, Alessio knows how to handle and deal with pressure. That pressure only increases in management. After a spell as assistant in the demanding environment of Napoli, Alessio took his first foray into management. And, as so many of Italy's top coaches have done, he started with small clubs who are barely known on the Italian peninsula let alone on the European stage. First up was Imolese before Massese and then SPAL. These are important, formative years in a manager's career. Progression up the Italian football pyramid came through different move. Alessio joined his former Juve colleague Antonio Conte as assistant at Siena. In essence it should have be a less-demanding, less-pressured role but that's not the case when working with Conte, as he did at Juventus, Chelsea and with the Italian national team. The new Inter Milan boss said: “Angelo is my right-hand man and also, if you will, my most regular ‘victim’ because he is the closest man to me, the one I have the most direct relationship with." Conte is the ultimate disciplinarian. He is well known for being strict with players' diet and a Sgt Major type on the training ground where he likes his charges to "sweat blood and eat grass". One of his favoured and infamous drills is: Run 100 metres within 20 seconds; rest for 20 seconds -- repeat for seven minutes. Run 75 metres within 15 seconds; rest for 15 seconds -- repeat for seven minutes. Run 50 metres within 10 seconds; rest for 10 seconds -- repeat for seven minutes. "When you finish training, you are dead. Not tired — dead," said Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini. Yet, with someone so demanding as Conte, it is unlikely Alessio is as exacting and stringent. He'll have had to been the conduit between players and manager. Therefore he will know how to communicate and those who have met him regard him as friendly and personable. But, similarly to Clarke, having been around success, including three Serie A tiles and one Premier League, for so long he will have picked up significant experience, learned from the best, coached the best. Working to such high standards for so long, the small details will matter, he will be switched on tactically and will be no shrinking violet. Without wanting to come across disrespectful in the slightest, if you can coach and get your point across to Eden Hazard and Paul Pogba, you can do the same with Alan Power and Eamonn Brophy. Coming from such an environment will instantly generate respect within the changing room. Yet, that respect will last only so long unless there are the results to go along with. It is an appointment which has surprised and one dripping in intrigue, adding another thread to a season fans are already gearing towards. It speaks volumes of the progress of Kilmarnock in recent years that they are able to attract such a manager with the requisite CV. Who knows what is in store for Killie but, if anything, it will be fascinating viewing. https://www.scotsman.com/sport/opinion/who-is-angelo-alessio-and-why-kilmarnock-fans-should-be-excited-about-the-new-boss-who-helped-chelsea-and-juventus-to-success-1-4948611

  12. In what has been a proud week for everyone at Kilmarnock FC, we wanted to update you on a range of matters as we look forward with anticipation to the 2019/20 season. It was thrilling to see Eamonn Brophy and Greg Taylor make their Scotland debuts over the past seven days and it’s a real honour to see such strong Kilmarnock FC representation with the national team. Huge congratulations are due to Stephen O’Donnell for his performances in both matches, Stuart Findlay for forming part of a talented squad as well as to assistant manager Alex Dyer, Billy Thomson and of course Steve Clarke. While it seems like no time at all since that wonderful final day of 2018/19, we’re looking forward to the players returning for fitness tests and training next week. This year, we have the added excitement of a European trip for the first time in 18 years and club representatives will head to Switzerland to discover our first round opponents on Tuesday (June 18) at 2.30pm with the second round draw on Wednesday, June 19 at 1pm. It’s been a hugely busy time off the pitch as we gear up for the new campaign. You will have seen our announcement, in partnership with The Killie Trust, over the installation of safe standing areas in the East Stand and Moffat Family Stand and timescales will be forthcoming as the process moves forward. Work remains ongoing to refurbish and refresh The Park Suite and The Sports Bar and we look forward to showing you more in the near future. As a board, we’re heartened by the strong uptake in season tickets during the Early Bird period. Over 3,300 of you have already pledged to be Killie Forever but we don’t want to stop there so please encourage existing season ticket holders, lapsed fans or those who may or may not have caught the Killie bug yet to come along and join us for our next thrilling chapter. The more people coming through the Rugby Park gates means more vocal support for the team but also gives the management team more money to strengthen the playing squad and helps us build the club. We’d like to thank supporters for their patience during the search for our new manager and we can assure you that the process is progressing smoothly. We’ve been extremely impressed by the calibre of the candidates we have spoken to and we hope to be in a position to update you further early next week. Thank you once again for your support. Billy Bowie, Cathy Jamieson and Phyllis McLeish.
  13. Kilmarnock are set to become the first British club to install a safe-standing section for under-16s and, in another UK first, the new rail seats will be entirely funded by their fans. The seats, which can be flipped up and locked in place to create room to stand behind a waist-high safety rail, will be fitted at Rugby Park in mid-September. Paid for by the supporters’ trust, there will be 158 rail seats for adults in the East Stand and 166 for youngsters in the Family Stand, making Killie the second Scottish team after Celtic to create a Bundesliga-style safe-standing area. Speaking to Press Association Sport, Killie Trust chair Jim Thomson explained that the decision to install rail seats is part of a wider push to get more youngsters to attend games and improve the atmosphere on match days. The rail seats will cost about £40,000 but the trust has also managed to raise enough money to build wheelchair platforms to give disabled fans a much better viewing experience at Rugby Park. Set up in 2003, this is the trust’s second major investment in the club after raising £100,000 to buy shares to put a supporter-elected representative on the board last year. With former Labour MP Cathy Jamieson in place, Thomson said the trust’s next priority was to build on the excitement of last season’s campaign, which saw the East Ayrshire side pip Aberdeen to third place in the Scottish Premiership and fill Rugby Park more regularly. Steve Clarke enjoyed two fine seasons at Kilmarnock, the club he supported as a boy before he took the Scotland job. (Ian Rutherford/PA) “We had more than 12,000 fans in for the last game of the season against Rangers and the atmosphere was incredible but our average gate is more like 8,000 – better than it was not long ago but still too many empty seats,” said Thomson. “So we’re trying to develop the Family Stand, which we used to give over to Old Firm fans but have now reclaimed. “We think putting rail seats in there so the older kids can stand with their mates, but still in sight of their parents, will be a really social thing for them. It will also hopefully encourage them to keep coming as they get older.” Kilmarnock’s reward for finishing third – their best finish since 1966 – is a place in next season’s Europa League. First, they must replace Scotland’s manager of the year Steve Clarke, who took the national team job a day after the season ended.
  14. Kilmarnock Football Club is delighted to become the first provincial club in Scotland to install safe standing areas within Rugby Park. Working with Trust in Killie, the club has identified an area of the East Stand and one section of the Moffat Stand to introduce rail seats, which can be flipped up or even locked in place to create a standing area. Celtic were the first club in Scotland to install a safe standing section in 2016 with the aim of improving the matchday atmosphere and we hope to achieve the same at our stadium. Director Cathy Jamieson said: “We have been looking at the option to install safe standing areas for the past few months and after much research, we are delighted to announce that we have agreed on an installation schedule and will be able to offer this very soon. “Our supporters have been paramount to the process and as the first provincial Club in Scotland that will be able to offer this to fans, we really look forward to seeing the project to completion. “Funded by Trust in Killie, a supporter lead organisation, we expect demand for this new area in the East Stand to be high and look forward to improving the matchday experience for our fans in the grounds where comradery will further enhance the matchday atmosphere. “I would like to thank existing Season Ticket holders in this area, some of which have held their seats for a number of years, as they have very kindly agreed to move from the areas affected. “We have been working hard to ensure they are satisfied with the service they received from our team to make sure they got the best alternative arrangements. Supporters in this area and Trust in Killie members will get first refusal in the new safe standing areas, but we are sure that there will be enough to appeal supporter demands.”
  15. I've asked a few guys to check, but I'm positive the first figure released last year was around 1850......
  16. Over 3,300 season tickets sold so far..... a big increase on the same point as last year according to director, Cathy Jamieson.

"Eamonn Brophy has been rewarded for his impressive debut season by being handed a new Kilmarnock contract. The club has moved to extend the Scotland Under 21 international's contract until the summer of 2021"
