  1. Former West Brom boss Darren Moore has thrown his hat into the ring to replace Steve Clarke as manager of Kilmarnock. (Daily Mail - print edition) Yes please.....
  2. Picture the absolute scenes when he struts out to the dugout kissing Chris Burke's badly heid on the way there......
  3. Nope, the old one has only just been fully lifted at the end of last week, they still need to install the watering & computerised monitoring system before the new one goes back down......
  4. No Craig, I'm sorry but Sir William of Stewarton has his eye on experience....... Kilmarnock want a "highly-experienced" manager to replace Steve Clarke and will draw up a shortlist by the end of the week, says owner Billy Bowie. The Rugby Park board will convene on Thursday to sift through the candidates and set up two days of interviews. Clarke left the Scottish Premiership club last week for the Scotland job. Bowie said Clarke will be "a very hard act to follow" but that he has been "very encouraged" by the calibre of those applying. However, he added that the candidates who have already made themselves known are of "a very good level" and are "from all over". Alex Dyer will stay on as assistant manager role, while also helping Clarke with Scotland.
  5. Billy Thomson will also assist as goalkeeping coach for part of the camp as well as Alex Dyer being SC's assistant......
  6. Kilmarnock duo Eamonn Brophy and Greg Taylor, both uncapped at senior level, will be called up by new Scotland head coach Steve Clarke on Tuesday. (Sun) And uncapped Killie defender Stuart Findlay will also be in the national squad. (Daily Record & Daily Mail print editions)

  8. Relax..... Somerset boss McCall revealed: “I phoned Boyd as I thought he would be ideal for our young kids. “But the first thing he said was: are you trying to get both of us killed?”
  9. ......... IAN McCALL has made a cheeky bid to lure Kilmarnock striker Kris Boyd to arch rivals Ayr United. The 35-year-old striker has hinted he could be prepared to leave Rugby Park for regular first team football after a lack of games last season. And that had alerted McCall who is searching for a replacement for Lawrence Shankland, who is leaving after scoring 63 goals in two seasons. But the move to tempt Boyd, who lives in Ayr, looks unlikely to get off the ground. Somerset boss McCall revealed: “I phoned Boyd as I thought he would be ideal for our young kids. “But the first thing he said was: are you trying to get both of us killed?” Boyd is taking some time before making a decision over next season Boyd is out of contract at Killie in the summer but the club have told him they want him to stick around next season. But in his SunSport column this morning, the veteran hitman admitted he’s going to take some time to think things over before making a decision on his future. He said: “Part of me thinks it is time to hang up my boots and retire. “But another part of me wants to keep playing as long as I possibly can. “Truth be told, I’m still not sure what I want to do next season, so I’m going to take some time to think things through with a clear mind. “Kilmarnock have said they want me to stay another season. I have also had other managers on the phone for a few weeks now. “Then there’s my TV and media work, along with my Foundation and youth academy which means a great deal to me. “There’s a lot for me to think about and I don’t want to rush into anything. But decision time is coming. McCall hopes Celtic will loan back keeper Ross Doohan for a second season after the youngster was a huge hit with 20 clean sheets, only one short of the Ayr club record. And he is desperate to keep star midfielder Robbie Crawford despite offers from two Premier League teams and one English club.
  10. The club can provide the following update on the futures of several Reserve Team players. Promising young goalkeeper Curtis Lyle has signed a new two-year contract at Rugby Park after impressing for Andy Millen’s team this season. Luke Barlow, Ewan McLevy and Oliver McDonald have also extended their contracts until May 2020. We can also announce that Daniel Higgins, Daniel Scally and Ross Miller will leave the club following the expiration of their contracts. Everyone at Kilmarnock FC would like to thank all the players for their effort and commitment and we wish them all the very best for the future.
  11. Roberto Di Matteo down from 25/1 to 5/1 for the Killie gig .... Own up..... who stuck a tenner on him?
  12. Kilmarnock striker Eamonn Brophy is in line for a Scotland call-up when Steve Clarke names his first squad next week. (Daily Record)
  13. Ex Killie player, have absolutely no idea how he made the list tbh......
  14. Alex Dyer set to be named SC's number 2 on a part time basis...... well chuffed for LAD, a top bloke who deserves the recognition.
  15. Cue the seethe, especially from the old firm...... Kilmarnock FC is delighted to announce a FieldTurf Core playing surface will be installed at Rugby Park in time for the 2019/20 season. This high-quality synthetic turf is the most advanced on the market and is already used by Champions League semi-finalists FC Barcelona and Ajax at their training centres as well as at Everton’s Finch Farm complex. We are the first club in Scotland to use this technology on their first team pitch with advantages including optimum ball roll, reduced pellet spray, increased surface stability and improved general aesthetics. As well as the new turf system, Rugby Park stadium staff will benefit from FieldTurf’s Genius pitch monitoring system, which will maximise the longevity and safety of the surface. Director Billy Bowie said: "The season may just have finished but work has already started on the new surface and we can't wait for it to be christened when the team returns to action in the Europa League in July." Paul Fraser, Regional Business Director from Tarkett Sports, added: “We are delighted to be working with Kilmarnock FC to driver one of the most high-tech synthetic turf stadia in the world. We are providing the latest synthetic turf and infill technology to ensure the players have the most advanced playing surface available. “The FieldTurf Core system meets and exceeds the most stringent FIFA certifications and sets a new standard for elite synthetic turf in Scotland and beyond. In addition, the FieldTurf Genius pitch monitoring system will allow for expert cafe and maintenance of the playing surface over the lifetime of the field.” In mid-June, supporters will be able to buy parts of the current pitch for £5 per square metre with all proceeds going to the Kilmarnock Community Sports Trust (KCST). The Killie Trust will be assisting the club with this process and further information including the start of sales will be released in due course.
  16. Feck it's been so long coming I never realised there was one.... lol
  17. Apologise if already posted..... Apparently we are a seeded team for the 1st round of the Europa League.
  18. He's apparently a complete Gordon Smith type, if he was chocolate he would eat himself. That's from a guy on kickback who knows/has worked with him......
  19. The amount of exposure we've been getting on SSN and other MSM, especially over the last 24-48 hrs, will be attracting manager CV's from all over Europe, In amongst them will be people we could only have dreamt of applying for the job back in 2017...... Having said that, it depends on how ambitious Bowie, Phyllis & Cathy are to build on the legacy SC has left behind.
