  1. United had a good start that basically got them over the line. They'd have been in trouble were it not for that. Decent line-up for us, as @sergie's no1 fan says Erhahon was good against Thistle and deserves his start. It's also the sensible tactical move. Surprised to see Henderson and not Tait at RWB, but that's a great vote of confidence for the kid.
  2. Haven't seen odds that tempting since Italy were 4-1 to lift the trophy at half time in the final.
  3. It looks like an edgy burger chain that's opening in a 'restaurant quarter' near you soon, and closing down again three months later. The strip is decent aside from that, tbf.
  4. Is that a financial cliff-edge, by any chance?
  5. This. Goodwin seems to be becoming a specialist in turning rival teams' cast-offs into decent St Mirren players. We've watched other teams do this successfully for years so I am fully on board with this strategy.
  6. That sounds like Ferguson's agent implying they might drop their interest in him and move on. Putting pressure on Aberdeen to accept the bid on the table. IMO.
  7. I strongly suspect our club is erring on the side of caution, given what happened last year and what's been happening to clubs where players have had positive tests. While restrictions are still in place, and isolation rules still kick in for those in close contact to those who test positively, perhaps we're just being ultra careful.
  8. I'll get it watched on Alba on Saturday night then head straight to the bookies for a perfect score prediction.
  9. Very much looking forward to some meaningful football breaking out, tbh. The lack of shite transfer rumours (Middleton being about all we've had), combined with the crowds debacle, has made the summer drag somewhat so far.
  10. This. Big fan of stability here. The size of club we are, there's always going to be a chance of relegation, so making sure we do everything we can to a) avoid it and b) make sure it's not a financial catastrophe if it does happen are my main baseline priorities. 'Progress' beyond that is a bonus.
  11. If you need to make late changes to a strip you just fucking iron over the mistakes.
  12. I actually feel a little sad to see GLS step down. He's made mistakes, sure, but anyone who can't see the absolutely insane progress we've made under him is being wilfully myopic. Definitely a step into the unknown here, but it's got to be a positive thing. There have been times in our lives when we feared for St Mirren's future. The most important thing is that our kids and grandkids will have a St Mirren to support.
  13. To be fair, I thought that about the UK population and Brexit and yet here we are.
  14. The elephant in the room, of course, being that many of our fans are fucking mental. Mad that the same people who comment on the SMFC Facebook page might now have voting rights in relation to key club decisions. Anyway... I've been in from day one and my name's on the wall. This is excellent news and I'm genuinely really pleased with how this has panned out.
  15. Controversial basis for an open internet forum, but I'm excited to see how it pans out.
  16. I know you were being tongue in cheek there, but the 'won one more game thing' took me by surprise to the extent I actually had to check. Absolutely mad that every team from 5th to 11th (inclusively) won either 10, 11 or 12 games (nod to the fact 5th & 6th had tougher post-split games). I think the diddies will be in for a similarly tight league this time round, if not tighter still. Very tough to call who'll end up where, but it shows the importance of every point/bit of positive GD you can grind out. Even these early games are crucial.
  17. Fair play, that is an absolutely belting strip. Very, very sharp.
  18. Well summed up. It's a strange set of circumstances that sees arguably our best defender essentially being fourth choice, yet here we are. If anything, as you've said, it underlines the fact Jim has a plan and is prepared to stick to it.
