  1. Possibly the worst time. He was 1 or only 2 fit defenders in our whole squad today. We really can't afford to lose any more until we have replacements lined up or preferable in the squad already.
  2. This is kinda how I am viewing things atm. Duffy is experienced and even if we have budget for 2 (maybe more if Thomas doesn't come back) he would have been doing everything he could to make sure he didn't sign duds. I am happy to wait if we can get in players who we really need. Any left back would be fine more or less (an improvement) and I also feel that Spencer is very much meh. He looks okay every now and again but I don't think he'd be a miss. Especially if we could punt him to bring in an option on the wing or an actual defender. Considering we started with 2 defenders on the pitch today because that's all we had fit...
  3. Exactly the kind of player we could've been doing with...
  4. That's fine. Hopefully he has the natural strikers insticts/movement. As hardworking as Gall is, he doesn't instinctively move into areas where the ball will go until the pass/cross is hit. Someone who is has that naturally would have scored a load in the last few weeks for us. Thomson would be my preference also at the moment, I'm also not sure he is a natural striker but he will be more of a handful for any defence.
  5. Let's hope he is of better quality than Jamie McGowan... Does anyone know what kind of player he is? Is he a target man, small and fast...
  6. I see he made 15 appearances for Annan on loan and scored a grand total of.... 0 goals.
  7. Just seems like another f**k up at the minute
  8. That is unusual that it is dated yesterday...
  9. Young, never heard of before striker would be my bet. Hopefully more or a Chris Kane than a Chris Duggan or Kevin Nisbet (in their time with us obviously).
  10. Hopefully not Chris Smith on a permanent deal. That would be about as much of a disappointment as relegation was...
  11. I suppose maybe the main difference with yourselves and us is that we are signing players who haven't pulled on a sons jersey on 2 year deals then? I'm pretty sure CT when we signed him on a 2 year deal was already at the club the season before. So yeah that was definitely different.
  12. Haha. Forgot about him which only further backs up the point.
  13. The last 2 we have signed on 2 year contracts were Rory Loy and Mark Brown. It really doesn't make a good case for 2 year deals. Not sure if I have missed anyone but before that I remember Chris Turner being on a 2 year contract but he went to Hamilton after that ended if I remember correctly? So there wasn't any value in that either.
  14. It sounds a bit daft, but I wouldn't be surprised if the club were happy for him to go back for a couple of week so we can save on his wages those weeks and then we have more chance of being able to afford him for the rest of the season. It would be so nice if we had just a little bit of money to spend this month
  15. Would depend on their parents writing them a letter for a "Doctor's Appointment" to finish school on time to make the bus... Not that I ever done that when I was younger for a midweek game... Good times!
  16. Ah, I just had a quick swatch over the latest match preview. Oh well, whoever it was it doesn't really matter too much now.
  17. One of those kinda guys who looks like he will be more dangerous than he is. He scored a couple of decent goals but overall was too lightweight and inconsistent in my opinion. I always wanted him to do better but I completely understood when his loan wasn't extended with ourselves.
  18. Isn't the parent and child ticket non-existent with the free kids place deal on?
  19. I believe you are correct. I was told yesterday by a reasonably reliable source that the ref wasn't happy with a clash in the shorts. Ours have a white stripe down the side and the ref deemed that to clash with the Stenny shorts. My point was, why didn't we just swap our shorts and wear the black Stenny shorts with our own top and socks...
  20. My concern with Beany is that he needed a full pre season to get back looking for and now is he is injured we could get the Iain Russell from last season back again. I agree overall that he was contributing well this season before he got injured. I wouldn't mind one of Gallagher and Russell alongside a new striker. They would both offer something different and it would give us option to change our system if it wasn't working - which really has been one of our biggest downfalls this season. When things aren't working we have little to no option to change what we are doing.
  21. I'd say it is more important to get a striker in at the moment. I agree that left back is our weakest position but we could easily get away with the odd defensive mistake if we could convert even 10% of the chances we create (in most games). If we had a poacher we could easily have scored 4 goals on Saturday. I'd much rather we invested in the attacking department and outscored our opponents than shoring up a defence that actually is okay overall and especially if we can get Mango fit again would improve dramatically without any extra signings.
  22. Hopefully be a good day with this and the Hospitality offer as well. It sold out and then they added extra seats to it which also sold out too. Hopefully a good atmosphere and get a good few extra bodies in.
  23. I spent the whole game thinking how much they reminded me of my younger self (and your and all the other guys too) when we first started attending games together. All good banter, plenty singing and no hassle. Shame we all grew up and got responsibilities which caused us to tone it doen a little
  24. Pretty much. It has been for the last year or so actually come to think of it... we don't really have enough 'keepers for a 'keeper debate at the moment
