If St JohnSons is a thing again, I'm here for it.
We don't really have any young strikers that I know of, though. Alex Ferguson is 17 and rated higher than both May/Kane were at this age, by the sounds of things, but is more an attacking midfielder than striker, and last time he played for us he still hadn't filled out yet.so might get chucked about easy. Nutmegs folk for fun.
Yes please!

Genuinely, ask any Airdrie fan, he looked the business when he played with us. Don't know what happened tbh but cant complain when he was here.
To be fair, he was top notch for Dumbarton in the Championship and that was as recent as 2017 so I'm pretty sure there is still a player in there. In general, our fans are delighted with him re-signing.

Last I heard Mbayo was rocking up at Dumbarton.
I don't imagine we'll be signing another CB around this level as we now have McGeever, Buchanan and young fella Lynch who was at Alloa last season. May be wrong though...

On paper he would be a decent enough option at this level. I wonder if there are any players in the mould of Chris Kane/Stevie May who we could get on loan from a prem team

What was Isaac Layne when he pulled on the Dumbarton jersey last season?
I believe the answer you are looking for is either "injured" or "shite". Do I win?

As uninspiring as Bobby Barr was he was reasonably consistent with us. Always got the 7/10 performance I thought. If I remember correctly, he was keen to stay before and it was only because Duffy fannied around he ended up leaving. He also seemed to enjoy his spell with us, which wasn't the case at many of his other clubs...
Not too fussed overall but as a squad player he would be fine at this level.

Apparently Connor Salmond incoming
Sounds a tad fishy to me that...

A decent signing day softens the blow of us unveiling the shittiest set of tops in our history.
There have been worse than this seasons efforts. Not the best but nowhere near the worst.

Anything on Edin Lynch?

Yeah it makes me think Carswell is slated to play centre back or Geggan right back.
I'd assumed Geggan will probably play RB anyway. Think that is where he has featured most in the last few years, but I may be wrong.

Disappointed that Paton has opted for another L1 club. I was hopeful he’d come back onboard. Still, there is still plenty of time to get the right signings in place. Anyone heard any rumors?
Out of interest - is Paton an upgrade on Wedderburn? I wasn't Nat's biggest fan but many of our fans loved him.

Did Ramsbottom turn down the contract offer? Don't recall hearing anything about him.
Haven't heard but he didn't sign and I think we can do much better.

He really doesn't need to cut his hair. It gives him a lovely metrosexualness.
Who's idea was it for Chris Jericho entrances btw? The ayatollah of dumbarton rock and rolla
I guess as a man with your own luscious locks you would always approve but an old bore like me who never had the patience to grow mine out is not so keen

Gregor certainly enjoyed his time at sons and would be an excellent partner beside Ryan McGeever.
Needs to cut his hair if he hasn't already though...

I did think in his reveal video he looks to have bulked up a bit in the last year or so. Decent enough interview though.

I thought Frizzell was a winger in which case he would replace the Thomson/ O’Reilly role coming off the bench to run at defences in the last 20 mins of games. I may be wrong however! He rarely played wide for us. Mostly in behind the striker or off the striker with the occasional dropping back into the centre on midfield if we were a bit bare due to injuries etc. Might work better out wide to be fair...

With that signing, out starting 11 is looking something like:
Currie
Watson - Kerr - Fordyce
Wardrop - Ritchie - ??? - Quitongo/ McCann
Agnew
Gallagher - Allan
Subs: Walker, Frizzell, Ritchie, Robert?, Pyott
Not too bad for this stage of the season, not as doom as gloom as I thought it was. Who we manage to bring in in midfield is going to be absolutely crucial. We simply can’t get away with starting the season with guys like McKay/ Ritchie/ Kerr/ Sabatini/ Stokes playing there.Surely Agnew would play in the deeper role with someone like Frizzell going in behind the strikers?
