  1. Is that really shite though? Queens Park are full time and the players they have signed haven't all signed based on the big sell from the management team. They will be paying comfortably more than Dumbarton, Clyde and Forfar can afford. Probably bigger than Montrose, because they are well managed and have built a competitive team over a number of season and are not full time. I think you could probably add in East Fife and Peterhead into the equation too. Not sure if you have misread my post to be honest...
  2. Half (at least) of League 1 have a smaller budget than QP surely?
  3. Thanks for replying. I was just about to ask the same. The majority of clubs have had budgets slashed and I highly doubt Clyde have a smaller budget than about half of the League 2 teams...
  4. Despite the criticism I expect I'll get (going by comments on here alone) I thought Jones was decent tonight and certainly offered more than Wilson did when he came on. I appreciate we were a bit backs against the wall but there were a couple of occasions where we just had to keep possession and gave it away too cheaply through Wilson. Overall, satisfied with that and a massive result which we needed at this stage. Clyde were dreadful and firing Lang up top that early just showed how desperate things were. Surely there were better options at that stage??
  5. If we want to avoid the play off places I see it as a must win. If we win, it would be a massive boost. Leapfrog Clyde, 8 points ahead of Forfar in bottom spot and all played the same amount of games. Just the boost we need heading into a split too.
  6. Funnily, about every Dumbarton fan would say it has 0-1 Clyde written all over it. You at least have someone who knows how to put the ball in the net...
  7. I agree with this to be honest and maybe my post came across as just saying, "it is okay they gave it". What I mean is, it looks bery close, from the distance I can see why it was given in the split second with all the playerscalling for it, whilst also disagreeing that I think I is unfair on Dumbarton because he cannot be 100% certain from that distance. I guess I can almost understand that they gave it. But I use the term loosely. See above. My post perhaps wasn't as clear as I thought it was.
  8. I'd say that when you think about how Aitken spoke and conducted himself in the interview, compared to when he left the, change is him is huge. Not sure if the introduction of Durrant to the set up changed his attitude and things but he certainly changed in his time with us.
  9. It looks pretty close to me. Can't be too harsh on the ref/linesman for giving it, in my opinion.
  10. Once again... maybe if you lot turned up it would've been 0 on Thursday.
  11. FTFY. Obviously we were poor today, again, but that is so frustrating.
  12. At best..? If we get to the split and play another 4 games in our current form (particularly against the teams around us) then we are destined for bottom spot.
  13. Normal service resumed. Felt we really had to change things as soon as the goal went in as we clearly weren't getting anywhere near the Cove 3rd of the pitch with the team on the park before that. Duffy can be relieved that fans aren't at games just now because he would be getting a pretty hard time of it right now, and rightly so. We don't have great quality or consistency in the final 3rd but it is quite obvious when we need to roll the dice a bit and he takes far too long to change things. Albeit I don't think it would've made much difference - but we need to try something!
  14. On a few more watches I reckon a bit of both. Looks like Frizzell gets the slightest touch but the defender swings and misses. Enjoyable though
  15. I think it is clutching at straws to say he pegged the defender Snudge didn't the defender just make a complete c@#t of his clearance and miss the ball? Disclaimer, I haven't actually seen any highlights and only watched it back 2 times last night on the stream
  16. Well, in any other circumstances we would view a draw vs Montrose positively but with every other team matching our result it just highlights again that although we defend pretty well, we just cannot score.
  17. He really hasn't offered anything tonight. Don't think he works well out wide. He isn't playing wide is he? Looks like he is up top with PJ to me. Just not offering enough. Despite the criticism I expect to get, I'd put on Jones and take him off.
  18. Too busy playing for Albion Rovers having come out of retirement for the... 8th time or so?
  19. So we have no sub 'keeper then? Concerning to say the least... unless JBH has made a recovery? ETA: I see in the match preview he hasn't...
  20. I haven't seen anybody suggesting he was solely to blame for the goal we lost - and I certainly wasn't suggesting that either. Just simply that we got caught out in the lead up to the goal. I disagree, I think his set pieces have been dreadful overall. We can't have him in the team for 1 good cross a game. He hits about every free kick and corner and the majority are poorly hit. He has set his own high standards but he is nowhere near consistent enough. If any player hit all 10 set pieces every match then the chances are 1 would be decent...
