  1. I totally agree. We need him as high up the pitch as possible. In both the Falkirk and Aberdeen matches he was always going to be key to us scoring any goals (or even creating any chances from open play!). He was at fault for the goal conceded yesterday too which is frustrating, but if he isn't halfway into our half then we may not have been punished so badly.
  2. I'd say we are trying too much and failing because we don't have the ability. Duffy is quoted as saying he has tried lots of different ways of playing to get more success in the final third. But from what I have watched we are the same toothless group failing to create anything. Harsh as it may seem, we don't have enough quality in our squad to play decent football, in my opinion.
  3. Well that's true but whatever we have been trying simply hasn't been working. I think we have to simplify things and play to our few strengths. The key, for me, is also in keeping the players motivated. The level of performance vs Falkirk and Aberdeen was far superior to what we have seen in the other 3 matches, for whatever reason. Maybe it is the manager, maybe the players. The captain should also play a role in keeping the guys going during matches and we also have plenty of experience throughout the squad who should be leading by example.
  4. Well we certainly didn't approach the match with Airdrie like we did the Falkirk game. I think it is clear to see our strengths and what we can and cannot do. No joke, believe it or not.
  5. Posted this on the match thread but in case some of you don't bother I'll copy it here. Not about playing pretty football anymore... I'm beginning to think we should stop trying to out football our opponents in the league and should instead stick to counter attacking football. Obviously we wouldn't be nice to watch but in the last week we have twice, reasonably successfully, frustrated opponents who are better than us and in those 2 games we created many more chances than we did in the games we were expected to be more comfortable in. We would still struggle with the group we have but given the little chances we created vs Forfar, Peterhead and Airdrie it can't be any worse. Let's play to our strengths by frustrating opponents and if we can cut out the odd lapse in concentration we may have a chance of catching teams on the break.

  7. Would a booking for each player have been enough there??
  8. Like many of our games this season... the opposition don't look any better than us in terms of general play. But they will be the team scraping a win. It far too rarely seems that we are the team winning these games with not much between the sides.
  9. Apologies if I have missed something completely... but when did Danny retire? Still listed on the website in the squad and things. I may have missed this to be fair, there hasn't been too much to shout about with the football so I haven't been spending all that much time on here recently.
  10. Unless they voted last season and agreed "the same with stand next season should this arise"... then what you mean is that the clubs should vote again and not that the vote that took place last year should decide this years fate? This year is very different to last in many ways. Last year we were just going into this whole pandemic and had no idea where we stood. This year we have begun rolling out and administering a vaccine which should, in theory, allow things to slowly be easier to control and restrictions to be eased. We have also only played an average of like 35% (roughly?) Of matches this year whereas last year we had completed over 75%. With this being more than twice as much, it made much more sense to call it then. In addition teams, every team had been given plenty time to find their position/form. FWIW - In my opinion, Falkirk should have been out of sight last season with the squad you had but you just weren't good enough (managed well enough?).
  11. I'd still say the majority are of this opinion to be honest. Most seem to be confused as to why the Championship and also Premiership are being allowed to continue. Let's be honest, things are going that way so let's just get it all sorted as quickly as possible.
  12. Couldn't agree more. I have absolutely no place for either side of the OF. I actually dislike them both and cannot stand the constant cries of being hard done by" which is spouted from both on a regular basis.
  13. At least the pitch might be ready in time for our next match!
  14. You can already see the OF uproar if Rangers weren't to be awarded the title and thus, Celtic had a "second go" at 10 in a row
  15. Would have to assume so. All other employers have been able to furlough staff on and off (flexible furlough) and since the increased restrictions kicked in my team have had to furlough a couple of staff and another couple have gone back in to shielding and will be paid through the furlough scheme also, I believe.
  16. Despite their struggles, Dundee manage to be professional enough to win in the end.
  17. I see Hibs managed to sign the lad Macey from Arsenal. Had a quick check online and finding it difficult to get clarity on whether it is permanent or not. What is obvious though, is that he has signed for this season at least. This can only help our hopes of re-signing Kevin surely? Although, we probably can't wait until Marciano is back fit again and run with Smith as our only option. Or can we??
  18. Well, that seems fairly obvious to me. I assume the other 'keeper is further down the pecking order - hence him playing at a level lower than ours. Just as Kevin did before this season. Gutting, but completely expected.
  19. That's fair enough. There are people over on the Facebook page who actually do believe we are no better than Huntly or Cumbernauld Colts though...
  20. Do you really believe that he was the difference between us winning vs Huntly or not? Fwiw, I think he is still a bit raw for the Premiership but if he hits the ground running he will make a fist of it I am sure. Danny Rogers seems to be doing alright (give or take a few errors) and they are probably pretty similar in that they could produce brilliant saves but also sometimes lacked in other areas. Albeit, Danny has a few years on Kevin.
  21. Away from the obvious DT and the CBs, what a difference having someone like Bobby Barr would would make to us right now. An actual, natural winger. Ironically, I was disappointed with how he left us too.
  22. Perhaps I was harsh to say nowhere near the best. What I guess I meant was - in my opinion he certainly isn't the number 1. I, personally, would have 3 of the 4 you mentioned but just because I think they are a bit better (more experienced!) doesn't mean I want to swap them for Dabrowski. I think he is a good young 'keeper who is a bit raw and has potential to improve a lot.
