  1. You'll get a hint of how ancient I am when I say the only time I was in Bulgaria was before the iron curtain came down, crossing through on route to Turkey, and my main memory is of delicious yoghurt that they sold in plastic bags, and horse meat at a border restaurant that was dry and chewy, and cafes in Sofia where you had to stand in 3 different queues to get a cup of tea and a cake. Just got this link in an email though from a travel guide firm that I've used before, the most knowledgeable I think on Eastern Europe especially, which should be more helpful.

Does anyone actually like any of the drivers? Reading this thread it's like everyone just wants failure for everyone

I've always liked Alonso, seems honest rather than the overtrained in PR robots most of them are. His honesty is sometimes only perceptible through a disguised wink though tbf.

As someone who resides far from a railway station, relying solely on buses for public transport, I appreciate your perspective. Indeed, the financial viability of extending service hours plays a crucial role. If there were profitable opportunities—whether through increased passenger ridership or government subsidies—transport companies would likely seize them. However, it seems that local councils currently lack the appetite to enhance subsidies. 🚌💡

Local councils are reduced to cutting services from the most basic provisions of the welfare state at the moment, unless they find a way past the Scottish Government's Council Tax freeze there will be zero money available for increased public transport subsidies. In a better financial climate I'd like to see a demand based service for rural communities, where minibuses could operate a hybrid schedule, part taxi and part bus, but at the same rate per mile as normally scheduled services.

Took the camera with me for the Inverness Atheltic vs Invergordon game.  Invergordon settled any nerves with a goal within the first 5 mins, before making it 2-0 in the first half.  Second half, Inverness were the better side and with the wind in their favour, but just couldn't get that final bit of magic in front of goal.

Your links aren't working for me, but great photos on your website. Thought this was Ross Tokely playing through his Highland League ban for a moment.

Why can't Brechin beat any of the top 5 and Buckie not beat anybody outwith it just now?!

We know the first part, but the latter is such a mystery that it's almost deliberate.

A weird thing is how Buckie keep beating the top sides on Wednesday nights but get nowhere against the dross on Saturday afternoons.

Thanks for sharing that link, it made quite disgusting and I thought, disturbing reading. Despite that, giving air to the corrupt stench is a good thing.

I've heard most of the allegations before, especially around Kincora, but I can't guarantee 100% veracity to every detail. There's a hint of possible homophobia running through the piece which suggests some caution might be wise before quoting it verbatim. There was definitely something rancidly rotten and psychotic in the failed statelet though.

    £2 per issue.

Or £110 for all 52 issues.

    £2 x 52 = £104

    £110 ÷ 52 = £2.12 per issue.

So well done on being a dumpling on two accounts.

One hundred and ten pounds

With weekly postage included it's a bargain!

I noticed they were checking carry on baggage sizes at Edinburgh and I've just been reading some Swissair people saying there's been a crackdown by Easyjet and Ryanair. Apparently not enough money has been getting raised from hold luggage so they're pressurising the Swissair agents to catch more over-sized luggage at the boarding gates. They've been putting "Mystery Shoppers" through the lines to catch staff out who are then disciplined.

Easyjet have massively upped the fees for taking a larger carry on bag to put in the overhead locker, it can be cheaper checking it in.

Rangers fans taking offence to a joke that Gough “may not be against apartheid”. Gough was an advocate of forging closer sporting links with the apartheid regime of the time.

    Not only sporting links..

I got some a few weeks ago via the resale process. Didn’t know it was them at the time, as it was Slovakia v Play off winner.

That said, they were not specifically reserved for them. Just somebody not fancying the prospect of Slovakia and a play-off winner.

    Public sales are fair game.
