Theres a place in falkirk that sells old whisky barrells. They will be spent for the industry standards presumably. You could probably dump some sherry in it for a few weeks and let it infuse the wood though. Least youd be getting a proper built one Where abouts? I live in Stirling and see ones advertised a lot on facebook market place but they always seem to be the standard sized ones and knackered so being sold as planters etc. You get some ones now selling as converted mini bars etc which I have been tempted by but I don't really the space for one after my cabinets.

Yeah did the Fettercairn tour (shite whisky) last year and they said the demand for sherry casks in the whisky industry is getting bigger and bigger whilst the consumption if sherry is falling. Some empty casks are going for stupid amounts. I would have one in an ideal world but I just wanted a small one to experiment with as long as somethings been aged in it. Not too bothered about the percentage loss and I would hope it would mature quicker with the liquid having more surface area to play with.

I have been tempted to buy a small ex sherry cask and fill it with bottle dregs/shite blends and new make and hope for the best for a couple of a few years.

Errr.....it really doesn’t. Whilst I’m entitled to apply for citizenship ( I haven’t) it’s not mandatory so I don’t nor have ever had a UK passport.

I think its fair to say Robertson can near enough be seen as world class. I think you have to sustain it at the top level for a couple of seasons for me to seen as that, his first season he wasn't first choice till the end of 2017 though. Cant really remember much about Lambert at Dortmund so wont comment but only some Scottish folk would ever see Fletcher as world class. A tidy enough player in his position and had a purple patch but certainly not world class for me.

Snp mostly howeverI have voted greens, labour and I think Lib dem once. I don't have a massive affiliation to any of them and will vote tactically depending on what election it is and my general feeling at the time.

Watching it now and for me it just looks like he totally lost his discipline after knocking down Ruiz and got caught out trying to go in for the kill and never properly recovered. Was a good spectacle anyway and looking forward to the rematch.

Tbh I can see some lower end EPL club blowing us out the water with a bid. His amount of goals for a striker in their first full season would be cracking, for a midfielder it’s almost unheard of.

Totally different situation for me. The guy has a long contract and will have a number of clubs after him. McGinn had a less than a year and Lawwell was acting the c**t as he knew nobody was in after him. Then the Aston Villa takeover happened quickly and caught him out trying to save on a few hundred grand. He won’t even attempt this long drawn out method this time should we really want Turnbull (which I hope we do). As for Motherwell I personally wouldn’t want our CEO speaking on twitter like a casual fan but the guys’d isn’t your usual CEO so fair enough. As for people saying he should be aiming higher than us I don’t really get that as we have a proven record of developing players for the EPL. There aren’t a great deal of cases outside us who made the leap straight in to the EPL and made a fist of it.

TBH if he was going for the amount talked about (4 million) it was a no brainier for me. I’m not overly fussed though as we have a decent amount of wingers and attacking mids anyway.

Yeah I did the same when I first got it. Ended up with a ridiculous measure after I put too much water in then topped it up again to counter it. It certainly won’t be to everyone’s taste but it’s generally a hit with the sherrybombers.
