  1. Well yes but putting out ridiculous figures potentially alienates clubs making a bid and therefor competition when bidding making it counter-intuitive. There is also the point of which when to sell him when his stock is highest. This season he has struggled for Scotland an has had a few injuries. I would argue his stock was higher last summer. He does have a long term contract though which helps but its hard to tell with defenders in the Scottish top league, a good few promising ones in the past have developed Gary Kenneth Syndrome.
  2. ffs not this pish again. The two quoted figures for this are from 2017/2018 where we made the champions league (and give out massive bonuses accordingly). Ajax meanwhile got knocked out in qualification stages then got knocked out by Rosenborg in the Europa qualifiers (who we knocked down to the the Europa qualifiers). We then made the latter stages of Euorpa and then won a fucking treble (again) whilst they won diddly squat (again).
  3. I like McKenna but I don't think even his maw thinks hes worth the figures being claimed. I don't see much difference ability wise between him, Findlay and Souttar tbh albeit they are all slightly different defenders.
  4. Is Gordon Definitely leaving? As for Biton I would be happy enough to see him leave, think he needs lots of games to get over his injury which we just cant give him. McGregor was great for me in that deeper role when Brown left. I feel for Kouassi too as hes been injured more than fit since he has been here but I think he has something if he can stay fit, another who needs games though. 2 centre backs are a must for me. Ajer is a first pick for me but Simunovic cant be relied on for form or fitness. Compper and Hendry hopefully will head off to pastures new even if only on loan for the latter. Im guessing Gutman will be back up left back next year (see post above). Agreed right back is required. The other yank is only 20 so would be a bit away from being a first pick. Would be open to Lustig staying as cover and a pay cut but cant see it happening. Depending on how good Bayo is a target man I would like to see a bug lump of a lad for Europe who can hold the ball up and give us a breather when under the cosh. I have no idea really if that is in his locker. Would also like to see Eddie more in the old Sammy role coming in off the left. Either way huge changes in players and an increase in staff are required in the summer. I was kind of sick of the whole Rodgers debacle and the underwhelming football of late but now in cup final week I am looking forward to see what happens.
  5. Thats Gutman made the provisional 40 man squad for gold cup with USA. Might be closer to our first team than I first thought
  6. He was ostracized because he refused to play, I don't think a fan of any club would really be backing the player regarding that circumstance. At the end of the day he would have wanted may more than our ceiling limit which we couldn't meet. Even though I said at the time we should have sold him on the back of the world cup and got players in ASAP in to replace him I don't think we would on the verge of a treble treble nor made the latter stages of Europe without him. Hes now most certainly got what he would have been asking for and in a top league so I don't blame him for leaving.
  7. https://twitter.com/scotlandsky/status/1130145405021253633?s=21 judging by the first minute of this I wouldn’t say so. Looks to me an emotional man who knows he’s leaving.
  8. Kincardine also enjoys little snide remarks about child abuse tbf. He should really be concerning himself more with alcohol abuse, the obsessed gin guzzling piss soaked bigoted *** that he is.
  9. I wanted Killie to finish third mainly because I thought Clarke would have made a better fist of Europe than McInnes would but looks like he wont be leading them. Would Killie fans be happy with Dyer taking over maybe?
  10. whit? If anything I thought Johansen was underrated by our support I dont recall many saying he was going to be a superstar. The only one out the 3 who was massively rated really was Mcgeady (not by me however) and given he was a great success in Russia then got a move to pretty decent Everton team then linked to Arsenal would suggest he did ok really. He's now languishing at Sunderland but I think his motivation went years ago.
  11. Happy enough with all those changes and chances. Would have even have stuck Hendry in instead of Ajer. Now there is a sentence I never thought I would say.
  12. It would have paid off IF we made the champions league but given he spat the dummy out when we had f**k all centre backs it was a way too risky move and we should have signed at least one centre back early in the summer knowing that Hendry/Compper were dog shit and Ajer was injured.
  13. It was inevitable he wasn't signing a contract so we should have got guys in way sooner. He ended up having a great season for us but given we didn't make the champions league partly because of him I agree he should have been sold for the money that was being talked about. Lawwell has a lot to answer for in this debacle for me as much as we wanted to blame him and his agent.
  14. Apologies if its already been discussed but just seen Darren O'Dea is becoming a youth coach at Motherwell? Hard to tell really how good a coach somebody can be but given hes been an international, played in Europe and across various continents I'm guessing hes picked up a fair bit along the way. Comes across as a smart enough guy too.
  15. They are trying to find players who make the squad better. Commitment also comes in to it but there have also been plenty of players who have been born in Scotland who clearly weren't that bothered (Boyd, Ferguson etc) where as players like Don Hutchison/Quashie who turned up to just about every game.
  16. Shamefully I'm a bit of a b*****d when it comes to this. I work for a oil company, drive a 3 litre sports car (do < 4000 miles a year though) and use those capsule machine things like they are going out of fashion (hopefully soon) .I shop in Lidl out of laziness really and they don't do a great deal of loose produce and when they do it often more expensive for some reason. Despite all this I'm all for renewable energy and alternatives to plastics and making single use stuff outlawed or heavily taxed. I do waste segregation like anybody else should and once my coffee machine gives up the ghost I will be going for a bean to cup bad boy. Quite tempted to go for a renewable option next time on my bills.
  17. Aye right enough whilst Brown has been wining trophy after trophy and topping European stats he wishes he was living it up like Cattermole and pinging passes to the crowd down at Pompey.
  18. Can’t believe Lee Cattermole is still a regular at Sunderland even in League One, hes like a Poundland Scott Brown.
  19. Weighorst would be a cracking appointment, sadly I cant see it happening though.
  20. I believe we should pay compensation even though Im lead to believe we aren't legally required to do so. We were happy to make use of the assets from them, so we should morally have to take any liability too. If we go down Rangers route of telling the victims of we aren't legally responsible I would be very disappointed. With our turnover It shouldn’t be an issue or even a discussion.
  21. Was at SMWS tasting on Friday and apparently they are opening a bar (members only though Im guessing) now in the centre of Glasgow. Good to hear as the Pot Still is always packed whenever I have been in it these days.
