  1. Andrew Dallas was alright at Stenhousemuir. He was tremendous in his first match and scored twice against Edinburgh City but he really struggled the following week against Montrose when he came up against Sean Dillon. He's clearly a talented player and someone who could have a decent career but he seemed a bit overawed by the physicality of League 2 - a very clear example of the gulf between academy football and the real stuff. We were keen to get him back on loan for this season but it didn't materialise. I wish him well and hope he does a turn for Greenock Morton.
  2. Fair fucking play to Stenhousemuir Football Club - that's an extraordinary result against Aberdeen and, in context, probably more impressive than the result in 1995. Credit to the players, management and supporters who made the journey up.
  3. I didn't realise he featured in that match. That Albion Rovers team was the worst side we've played against in years.
  4. We've signed Ryan Watters, a 20-year-old forward who was previously on the books of Albion Rovers. Quite what a two-goal striker who played his part in one of the worst senior sides in living memory can bring to us remains to be seen, but I do wish him well.
  5. Alright friends, I recorded a podcast with one-time Bino David Weatherston, and I'm sure you'd find it interesting to listen to. He talks about joining the club in the summer of 2013 and how he went on to form a good partnership with Jordan White that fired the club to promotion via the play-offs. I think you'll like it! CLICK
  6. Alright lads, I recorded a podcast with David Weatherston, who played four games with Alloa Athletic in the 2014/15 season. Although he didn't make any impact at the club, his insight into his time at the Recs is very interesting, particularly about the make-up of the squad at the time and Danny Lennon. CLICK
  7. Fair play. Loads of time to get in a couple of jobbers before the Montrose game next weekend.
  8. Brad Spencer and Jamie McGowan have now left the club. How many fit players do Dumbarton have in their ranks just now?
  9. Hi! I recorded a podcast with one-time Falkirk star David Weatherston and I think you will all enjoy it. This is the fourth installment of a five-part podcast and sees him talking about his two years with the Bairns. I can't recommend this enough - some brilliant stories, funny throughout and great insight into his time there. CLICK
  10. Someone will have to correct me here but I think it might have been Errol Douglas from Craigroyston in 2013.
  11. Andy Munro is a real meat-and-potatoes defender and is probably the kind of player we need in this predicament - solid, no-nonsense, a bit hard. I hope he can form a decent partnership with Morgyn Neill at the back. I hopetoo this isn't the last player we'll be bringing into the club.
  12. Hi lads, I recorded a podcast with former Doonhamer Davie Weatherston that will be of some interest - CLICK Part three of our interview sees him focusing exclusively on his three years at Palmerston and there's some brilliant insight on the workings of the club at the time, from the Scottish Cup final team to Gordon Chisholm leaving, to Kenny Brannigan's management to Gus MacPherson coming in, and everything in between. Enjoy!
  13. No. Everyone at the club, from the board to the players and the management to the supporters expected, expected the club to challenge for promotion and we achieved that. We had to turn virtually the entire squad over for a second successive season and it hasn't been success and this year's side is arguably weaker than last year's. We're still in with a shout of pulling ourselves away from the bottom of the table, we're definitely still in the hunt, but we really need to sort out our back four because it's killing us.
  14. Fair play to him. I think it must be very difficult to be both a player and a manager so it's good to see he's concentrating full time as manager. He's been a brilliant player for Stenhousemuir and one my all-time favourites. Best of luck to him for the remainder of the season, he'll certainly need it.
  15. Thanks for the comments, pleased to hear the supporters have enjoyed it. I think we really both enjoyed recording the show. Keep your ears peeled for parts three, four and five, which will be out soon. Shout out to Radford for the pointers about his time at the club, very big help.
  16. Alright lads, I recorded a podcast with erstwhile Saintee David Weatherston. He's a great guy and a brilliant talker and this 40-minute episode sees him talking exclusively about his year at McDiarmid Park. Some great stories and insight in here, especially about his problems with anxiety. Very honest and open. I think you'll like it. CLICK
  17. Aye, he's a class act to be fair to him. He's made a big difference. If only he could send the tweets during the games, that would be very "exiting".
  18. I don't know, I imagine it'll be some young jobber on loan from Greenock Morton or somewhere similar (although I hope to be proved wrong!) The club's use of social media has been a lot better over the last 12 months and I reckon we're copying what a lot of other teams are doing in terms of announcements.
  19. Alright lads, I've recorded a podcast with former Queen's Park forward David Weatherston. I ended up speaking to him for almost five hours, he's a brilliant guy. Anyway, here's part one where he talks exclusively about his time at Hampden. You'd think I'd get bored talking about the promotion-winning side of 2007 but here we are. He's the fourth person I've interviewed after Stevie Canning, Alan Trouten and Mick Dunlop. CLICK
  20. Some mark on another thread said it was Paton's decision - and his alone - to return to Ross County. Fair play to him though, if he believes he can win a place in the Staggies' first team on their current form then he should go for it. He'll be a big loss to Stenhousemuir but he'll leave the club a better player than the one that arrived 18 months ago and I've no doubt he'll flourish in the right environment with good players around him.
