  1. Alright lads, I recorded a podcast with erstwhile Ayr United captain Paddy Boyle. There's some great stuff in here about his time at Somerset Park, and I think you might enjoy it. CLICK
  2. Alright lads, I recorded a podcast yesterday with Paddy Boyle, who is fondly remembered as a Pars legend. He speaks a fair bit about his time at Dunfermline, why things didn't work out in the SPL and the financial problems that led to him joining Gateshead on loan. Some very interesting stuff in here. CLICK
  3. Now you don't punish anyone, Dutch or otherwise, for having big boobs.
  4. I am delighted this thread has been moved back to its rightful home and I have updated the title accordingly. Best of luck to the good brothers and sisters over the course of the season.
  5. David Galt has signed for Alloa Athletic, he's a good player at this level. How will he get on in the Championship? Only time will tell.
  6. Fair play, he did us a very good turn at the of the 2016/17 season so let's hope he can reprise the same form.
  7. David Marsh was a likable big guy, an uncompromising lower-league stopper who did a reasonable job for the Warriors. He was a big lump and could header bricks all day but he was often caught out and prone to the odd mistake too. His disciplinary record was pretty poor, as others have mentioned. I think, at the beginning of the season, Brown Ferguson had intended to play using a back three (a tactic which almost saved us from automatic relegation in 2016/17) but it didn't work and the Dunlop brothers looked poorer with the extra man alongside them. Bomber reverted to a flat back four and Marsh was the one who missed out. If he is moving to Cowdenbeath, he'll do them a decent turn.
  8. Alright lads, here's the second part of the Pelé Podcast with Bobby Barr - CLICK. Bobby talks exclusively about his time at Raith Rovers here. Worth a listen, I'd wager.
  9. I don't there'll be anything cryptic about it, he once wrote something on Twitter like "Francesc Fabrages on Pie and Bovril is a wanker".
  10. If John Gemmell came into my house, soaking wet, telling me it was raining outside, I'd have to out and look for myself.
  11. Our Twitter account has just announced we've retained Colin McMenamin and Robbie Sinclair for the season ahead. McMenamin will continue in his player-coach role while Sinclair returns after an apparently successful spell in the juniors. What's that sound? It's the sound of Moonglum's piss boiling!
  12. I've got a Gibson Explorer. I bought it from Guitar Guitar a couple of years ago for £1000. I'm a massive mark for U2 and I had always wanted one. It's good fun to play, especially when you start chucking on loads of delay and echo. A bit more style over substance if I'm being honest but who cares!
  13. Are there better right-backs than Ross Meechan? Yes, probably. Are there others who are as popular with the support, play with 100 per cent commitment and show the same passion and desire as Ross Meechan? No.
  14. Why wouldn't you keep Colin McMenamin at the club? He'll be kept on as a coach and will probably be used sporadically, like last season. He only played as often as he did over the final third of the season because Mark McGuigan was injured and Jamie Longworth wasn't up to it. Scored some very important goals too. Anyway, are you going to tell us about the club's problems or are you just teasing us all?
  15. Ruaridh Donaldson has signed on! Very pleased with this, I was worried he'd fancy his chances a little higher up the foodchain than with Stenhousemuir so it's pleasing he's staying for another season. Thomas Halleran has also agrees terms for next year too.
  16. That's been one of my favourite parts of any podcast I've done - I loved his memories from the Challenge Cup final. Loved the way he broke down the split second between Greig Spence's shot hitting the 'keeper and John Baird following up and scoring. Cool guy too.
  17. I have posted this another thread but I think it might get a decent pop in here: I recorded a podcast with Grant Anderson earlier in the week. In this second part, he talks about his four years at Raith Rovers, and there's a lot of neat stuff in here. CLICK
  18. Ross Meechan is one of my all-time favourite Stenhousemuir players. He's a very handy right-back but he can fill in in the middle and on the left if need be. He also played in central midfield for the latter part of the 2014/15 season. He's a good defender - he's strong, reads the game well and he can carry out instructions to the letter. His biggest weakness is his crossing. He often works brilliant overlaps only to shank it out of play. Very sorry to see him go.
  19. I'm sad to see him go. He came a long, long way after his disastrous first few months under Scott Booth and developed into a good defender, someone who could read the game well, get stuck in and chip in with the odd goal. What I liked the most about him was he played the same way I would play if I could play for Stenny - fully committed, kicking every ball, going off my head at every goal.
  20. It was his choice to leave, not the manager's. I thought he would have been at Stenny for years.
