  1. Didn't look like much of a wrestler, some of those moves and holds he was throwing about looked right awkward. Decent-ish episode. I'm up at the divas match and my word, it's boring. The crowd didn't help matters but I don't blame them, this is the exact same fight we've seen since the so-called "Divas Revolution". No storylines or character development to get behind here. Anyway, the New Day were superb again and the Dudley Boyz were exceptional too, great stuff.
  2. Not sure what to make of that last night. The tag-team match was excellent, and the championship fight between Bayley and Sasha Banks was wonderful and brought the former's arc to a very satisfying conclusion but the rest was a bit... Underwhelming. Maybe it's because I still can't get over how good Revolution was back in November, but some of the matches seemed a little half-baked. I wasn't too impressed by Jushin Thunder Liger and felt his reputation carried him through the match. I didn't think there was much point in him going over Breeze either. The ending to Samoa Joe-Corbin was lazily written. And the ladder match lacked that wee bit of drama. Maybe Owens was saving himself for his match with Cesaro tonight? But the biggest complaint is with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. We all know NXT is great, we don't need you to remind us. And fuck Stephanie McMahon taking credit for the "Divas Revolution" on the main roster. Nothing's happened at all - there's just more women, competent wrestlers, now fighting in the division. Other than one being on one team and some being on another (why are they on teams?) there's no motivation for them to fight one another. Can't stand the pair of them. What do they want?
  3. Pretty class episode last night. The fighting wasn't too hot - it was mostly just squashes - but the build-up to the title matches was class. Sasha Banks and Kevin Owens dropped incredible promos. Owen's taking on the NXT crowd and saying they're as bad as John Cena was outstanding. Can't wait for Takeover!
  4. Going the Earl of Dublin is supposed to be the easiest way to get into the game. No liege, every county in Ireland is independent and easy enough to take over, and you're less likely to get attacked from elsewhere. Don't turn on the Sunset Invasion DLC though, everything gets a bit wacky.
  5. A very boring band. They've got some decent songs - Gun is a cracker - but the first album was very samey and the first few singles from the new one sound exactly the same as the singles from their old one. I saw them at the ABC in Glasgow two years ago and they were dull. A woman singing and two big lugs hammering keyboards. Wow.
  6. Since Lana packed it in with Rusev, she's been terrible. She's supposed to be the good guy but she's the one on the co-commentary starting of Summer Rae after the fight's finished.
  7. This morning I've become the King of Ireland, and I'm now just two counties away from having the whole of the country under my command. The only problem is that Ulster is under the control of Pictland and I imagine going after it will have heavy repercussions. They seem like a pretty handy bunch
  8. Another good episode this week. Great match between Bayley and Becky Lynch for the main event - the outcome was pretty obvious (and the outcome at Takeover will be pretty obvious too) but it'll complete a damn good story arc. Tye Dillinger looked good too. Really looking forward to next week.
  9. It's a hard game, probably the most difficult I've ever played. The lack of intuitive gameplay, the poor tutorials and the aggression of the lads around you make it really tricky in parts. Start off in Ireland, you're free to beef with whoever you want with without any real repercussions.
  10. Bought the Charlemange DLC and started all over again. I went the Chief of Dublin and tried doing the same things I did in the previous game, only faster (because I had a handle on what I was doing this time around). I quickly put in place the Duchy of Meath and the Duchy of Connacht but when I died, the titles were split between my two sons. As his eldest son, the High Chieftain of Meath, I plotted to murder my younger brother and get back Connacht, which worked. I pressed a claim on the county of something-or-other, towards the south, and was looking to fabricate a claim on a second county when my character died. I had two sons, so I'm back to the start again with the Duchy of Meath, while my younger brother got Connacht and the other county. I'm too young to plot to murder him, but I will. Then it's onto unifying Ireland. Hopefully I do it before I die. Is there any way to change what happens on succession? This constant fratricide every 40 years isn't good for anyone.
  11. I had to raise taxes and wait a couple of years but I finally raised the gold to become the King of Meath. Great times. I'm quite keen on becoming the King of Ireland but it's all dependent on waiting for my chancellor to fabricate claims on other counties and that seems to take ages. I instigated a plot to kill the Countess of one area but that hasn't seemed to do much to advance things. What should I do to get more land?
  12. Really beginning to get into this. I'm onto my fourth character, a tubby Earl of Dublin, and after numerous attempts my chancellor finally fabricated a claim against Cil Dara, the county next to Dublin. I won most of the wars against their boys and began to lay siege to the capital. As luck would have it, my betrothal to a princess in the Byzantine Empire came to fruition and I was able to form a solid alliance with them. They offered to help me in my war and sent over 12,000 troops (but by the time they came over the war was won). I need 181 gold to unite the areas and form the Duchy of Meath. No idea how long that will take to get together (I've got something like 35 just now) but I can't wait to see what happens. One step closer to becoming the King of Ireland.
  13. Big talk of Larry Shankland going to St Mirren (although with the signing of Calum Gallagher, I don't know how likely this is any more).
  14. Good episode of NXT this week. Huge fan of Chad Gable already, him and Jason Jordan look the part. Good tag match to finish things off too. Wasn't really into Blake and Murphy but since Alexa Bliss has joined their faction, they're a million times more interesting. The only real downside of the episode was Kevin Owens - he came in, squashed a guy and left. Not sure if his short time on the main roster has dimmed my enthusiasm for him a bit.
  15. Great stuff again here, lads - CLICK. Your PR team are having a shocker.
  16. Strange statement on the Livi website about re-signing Declan Gallagher - CLICK. I'm all for rehabilitation and for letting people have a second chance and all that but to refer to the player as a "victim" after chibbing someone with a baseball bat seems pretty out of order.
  17. I noticed this a fortnight ago - terrible news. It was a wonderful source of information. If there's anything similar to it where you access tables on particular weeks, that would be wonderful.
  18. Everyone close to me - my wife, my grandson, my courtiers - are all dying of various ailments. I had to give up one of my areas because my demesne was too big, so I gave it to my son. I don't know why this happened. I'm approaching 55 and I fear I won't be long for this world. My heir is currently my chaplain and he's doing a great job of talking me up around Europe. My granddaughters are all getting set up with princes and kings around Europe, so that's something good for the future I suppose. Again, I still don't feel like I'm doing anything to influence things. I played the game on hyper speed and nothing crucial seemed to happen for five years.
  19. Watched up until the New Day's interruption at the tag-team match. Absolutely sensational. They're on fire at the moment. How long can it last?
  20. This bishop starting beefing with me and tried to revolt on Dublin, so I got some troops over from Wales (I have an alliance with them through my heir's marriage) and slapped them down. Not sure how, right enough, it just seemed to happen. I manage to kill my wife and married a Hungarian princess - her father passed away and I have a loose claim on the throne, but I can't do anything about it because I'd levied an army when I was dueling with the bishop. Got paid today and I quite fancy getting some DLC but I'm not sure if I should make sure I like this game first before spending any more money. I want to like it but it's not giving me anything back just yet.
  21. Haven't watched it yet but I've seen the results and Rollins is shaping up to be one of the poorest champions of the last two years. I understand he's a heel, I understand he's supposed to be cowardly and can only win with the help of his buddies, but to tap out to the STF is pretty appalling and makes him look terrible. I can't understand it (even if you're accounting for the fact John Cena had his nose broken earlier in the match). I've praised Cena for his Open Championship run over the last couple of months but it appears he's reset to default and character-wise, he's at his very worst. Watching WWE just now is like being in an abusive relationship - it's mostly horrible, but there's the occasional glimmer of wonder that keeps you onside.
  22. Things seem to be going okay - my da passed away and I inherited his land, so I've got the south-east coast of Ireland sewn up. I'm holding festivals and feasts and all that to draw favour from my vassals and my chancellor is getting up in people's faces, fabricating claims and all that. When I last left it, I was plotting to kill my wife. She's not nice to look at and she's got rubbish stats so I'm going to bin her and marry a princess. It's an interesting game but I don't feel like I'm influencing anything, I feel like I'm just waiting for things to happen.
  23. Bought this on Friday night and my word, it's bloody hard. Started off as the Earl of Dublin as that's supposed to be the easiest character to begin with but I don't have a clue what I'm doing. I wanted to just steam in there and annex the Isle of Man but I have no idea to raise an army. I think once the Hollyoaks omnibus is finished I'll play along with a tutorial guide to make sure I know what I'm doing but this game really isn't instinctive.
  24. I thought your points were fair. Our goalie is decent enough for League 2 level and our defence consists of an old, immobile Stuart Malcolm and a series of young jobbers (although players like Ciaran Summers and Ross Meechan should be better equipped for the year ahead after last season's chastening experience). I do like the look of our midfield though, it's a hundred times better than it was last season, and we've got solid options up top. I still think we're short of one or two bodies but I reckon we're on course for a lower-mid-table finish. Probably about seventh or eighth.
  25. General racism. Caught on tape saying all number of unpleasant things.
