  1. Chris McLaughlin, BBC Sport"SPL source tells me that Bill Miller has been given no assurances about possible sanctions for a newco #Rangers" Ah.
  2. If Rangers get away with it expect rule changes to make sure nobody else can, pronto.
  3. If they can agree a CVA, if they can get themselves organised in time to play next season, if they don't end up in liquidation, then that would be fair. However, those are enormous ifs.
  4. Isn't it about time that the OF just accepted that they're a stain on the face of the nation and tried to improve their image instead of wallowing in their disgusting reputation? Just a thought.
  5. I think it's just a knee-jerk catch-all catchphrase, like "lickspittle running-dog" was for marxists in the seventies.
  6. So, not bollocks then. Cheers. My point is that the line between avoidance and evasion is a blurred smudge and there's very little to separate the two other than how HMRC/the treasury feel about it.
  7. Sure, and tax avoidance is perfectly legal right up until the time when it isn't. You can call it what you want, but if HMRC don't agree with you, there's not much you can do about it except appeal. The old saying "Tax avoidance is legal, tax evasion isn't" is a catchphrase employed by accountants to reassure clients. It's bollocks.
  8. As I understand it all teams require a licence from the SFA, which may or may not be forthcoming for any newco formed to take advantage of Rangers disappearance.
  9. Not convinced that would put Ticketus in the driving seat, frankly. I don't think there's much that can reduce HMRC's wedge to less than 25%.
  10. And it was transparent, given that Rangers already knew exactly who was on the panel.
  11. Yeah, but Leeds' situation was very different from Rangers. HMRC control more than 25% of the debt for a start.
  12. When I used to work at Virgin in the eighties we regularly had to lock the doors on a Saturday because of orc v orc running battles up Union st and Renfield st. Which can't be good for business.
  13. No, pubs have been closing by the thousands across the uk. More likely to be caused by cheap supermarket booze than anything else, mind. Offies are also hurting.
