  1. Their wiki seems to indicate that they played in the Europa League the year before they went into administration. Clearly they wouldn't have been able to play if they were still in administration, like Rangers probably won't be playing in Europe next season. If they get away with it, the SFA will be the laughing stock of Europe. I doubt they can avoid imposing some serious sanctions if the worst of the allegations are true. If the double contract thing is proven, I would expect UEFA to impose some sanctions under their Fair Play regulations.
  2. You're confused..willfully not using their powers or not using them properly isn't the same as being powerless. I would suggest that the SFA should do everything they can to make sure it doesn't happen again and ensure that they have the cleanest hands in Scotland. Whether they do so is up to them. What did they have to do with UEFA? Not really, they can expel clubs if they want. There's lots they can do in the right circumstances, the question is are they willing? "The authority to impose sanctions is contained in Article 112 of the Scottish FA Articles of Association which states that a club failing to comply with the requirements of National Club Licensing shall be liable to a fine, suspension, expulsion, or a combination of these penalties or such other penalties, sanctions or conditions as is considered appropriate in the circumstances." There you go.
  3. Not powerless at all, all they had to do was set up an investigation of the same type that just found Whyte to be unfit. The fact that they buried their heads in the sand doesn't mean they couldn't do anything. UEFA have a long history of sticking their nebbs in when they think it's necessary, no doubt they're waiting to see what happens first. I don't know what your problem is, but you're welcome.
  4. Actually, that would be why it's a PR disaster for them. They look ineffective and foolish and they didn't even use their limited powers to block Whyte or investigate what the previous regime was doing. Thanks for playing.
  5. Cobblers. Not only is it a PR disaster for the SFA, but for the SPL as well in this case. They are supposed to be the regulators, after all.
  6. It's a PR disaster for a start, it calls their competence into question, throws the leagues into disarray and often results in people losing their jobs. HTH!
  7. I would say that any club going into admin with the possibility of liquidation is a disaster for the SFA, not just Rangers.
  8. Yes, because they would welcome another disaster on this scale, wouldn't they?
  9. As I understand it HMRC object to agreeing CVA's as it's unfair on those who do pay their taxes correctly and on time. Certainly they had no intention of coming to an agreement with Dundee and would have forced Dundee to pay the full amount if they hadn't been a minority creditor. I'd be very surprised if they agreed to some kind of discount with Rangers.
  10. No, they actually bought the season tickets, if Rangers go ker-plunk then they are just another creditor.
  11. So when they signed the deal he went "Oh, and Rangers don't have anything to do with this, by the way", did he?
  12. Actually, banks have a duty of care. If they've taken money under false pretences they are duty bound to investigate and, if neccessary give it back. If Rangers renage on the deal then they owe Ticketus £24m, obviously. Rangers do exist, for the moment, and the admins are rather bullish about the possibility of them continuing to exist. The entity cannot be Whyte as Whyte as a person couldn't make the commitment, only Whyte as CEO of Rangers could make the commitment. I'm not sure why you're not grasping this.
  13. On the grounds that they're aren't getting what they paid for, of course. Are you being deliberately obtuse?
  14. And if that deal falls through, they'll be perfectly entitled to their money back.
