  1. As an exercise in squad rotation and giving some game time to a few players today was a success, but in terms of learning anything and winning the football match it was a failure. I fancied even an injury-hit Elgin would be difficult opponents and they were all that and more, especially in the first half when they were good value for their lead. The fact that we rescued a point from 0-2 down was admirable but it owed more to perseverance than flowing football, which was impossible on the bobbly surface. On then to Balmoor next week with nothing yet settled across the play-off situation - it could be a day of fluctuating fortunes before the dust settles.
  2. Just like your team, you seem to be missing the point my friend.
  3. Having read these recent posts I'm marvelling at a national sport which dispenses summary judgement for bureaucratic infractions of a minor nature, yet remains mutely inactive about decades of singing about being up to one's knees in ****** blood. Remarkable, quite remarkable.
  4. Any fan of Abernyte Brewery is a welcome addition to P & B. Baltic up there in winter mind you.
  5. Expect to see a lot of coverage of Kate Forbes in the coming days, and especially from those who wish to consign the SNP to the pages of history.
  6. Complain to Broomhill and Dumbarton FC then and stop going down a rabbit hole on a thread with hee-haw to do with pitch conditions.
  7. If it's Dumbarton you are referring to, we've had not one home fixture postponement this season. Your turn.....
  8. I'm gonna throw a grenade in here, but with Buckie being debarred why were HL runners-up Brechin not considered as replacement opponents for EK ? I'm pretty sure if, say, an Olympic gold medal-winning athlete subsequently fails a drugs test then the silver medallist is elevated to gold status. Presumably that doesn't apply in Scottish football.
  9. See Neilly ? See decent knowledge ? The last time I looked Carlo Pignatiello was playing for the Sons. And Mikey Ruth would be replacing Jordan Allan pronto.
  10. A difficult one to call. Sons look to build momentum for their latest playoff tilt, but our visitors will travel down buoyed by a much improved record under their new management team. Hail Hale and all that. With Spartans and Peterhead squaring up it could be an interesting afternoon.
  11. Mo has been superseded by Wrighty who has proved that stop'n search doesn't stop anyone from becoming a national treasure.
  12. I think that comes from many in Scotland having little loyalty for the Haus of Windsor or the Union flag. As for conflict, perhaps having lost a disproportionate proportion of it's yong menfolk in two major world wars, Scots are understandably a bit more reticent about vainglorious chest-thumping by mendacious Westminster politicians.
  13. It was streamed but not recorded. Minutes will be available in the near future, they aren't generally circulated but if a member(s) wishes a copy I don't see any great problem.
  14. I agree with your logic but the Rwanda disgrace will be competing with some pretty major financial abominations - HS2, the Ajax armoured personnel carrier, any nuclear power project you care to mention, and the Tees Freeport corruption scandal to name a few. In terms of immorality though it's in a league of its own.
  15. Indeed, but alarmingly most of the media seems to be treating Mr Falter as some sort of brave folk hero standing up to The Lawless Mob and their protectors The Law Itself when the reality is that he was acting like a reckless shit-stirrer, or if you prefer agent provocateur.
  16. Expect multiple use of the phrase 'moral victory' in the next couple of days.
  17. Great highlights as always from Stranraer but my God, at times our back four looked as if they had never played together. If Stranraer slip into the playoffs they might rue some of those missed chances.
  18. I wasn't at Stair Park but by all accounts we could well have lost there (again) if Stranraer had taken one of several chances. Whilst we seemed content to rotate the team after halftime and to avoid injury and suspension, Stranraer apparently went for it, and that's now two games running they've competed well against top four teams. If Clyde don't at least take note of that and respond they may come to regret it.
  19. Whether anyone agrees with VAR or not that's a penalty.
  20. It was more of a deep red shade IIRC. With thanks to @microdave and the wonderful Sons Archive, the game finished 1-1 with Raymond Blair scoring for Sons and Derek O'Connor getting the Hearts goal for a strong Jambos side which included Roddy McDonald, Sandy Jardine, Alex MacDonald and Willie Johnston. 24% of the crowd wore ties.
  21. We'll certainly do our best my friend, but you need to step up against a Stenny team which has forgotten how to win.
  22. I'm fine with Hilton staying, and he is definitely benefiting from a run of games. But someone will really need to explain Div Wilson's deal to me, because he won't be a suitable replacement for the lad Newbury.
