Yup, I kind of get the tedious trolling and boring tropes from the bigger clubs but fk me, Montrose took 2 to QOS only a few weeks back and I can remember in the 80’s and 90’s when it was 350 at Links Park.
There is just no need it’s crass and embarrassing, whether we got beat 4-1 or won 4-1 there was no other place I was going to be today.
It wasn't all that long ago we were playing in front of 200 odd at best against the wee Rovers and the Shire while we were jobbing the bottom of L2, although TBF many of the 'ultras' who sing about shite home supports were still dropping shite in nappies at that point.
We're slap bang in the middle of the recession and any number dedicated enough to spend ever increasing costs on an away day just now should be respected (especially teams in the soup who hardly ever win).
Trying not to have a dig, but I do feel Cove are one of those clubs more heavily reliant on a smaller circle of influence so more vulnerable to doing an Edinburgh if and when any backers pull out/get bored etc. Struggling to see their mid-term planning or at all, and the manager is still in the job through nepotism over ability. (Would also qualify most of the above by saying most L1/L2 clubs are in a similar financial bind just now, including ourselves. I genuinely don't think anyone is totally safe right now.)

Another big win and a very composed performance, massive credit.
Cove were absolute toilet for an hour and only got a bit of a look in at 0-3 when we were snuffing the game out. All their main attacking threats were well dealt with, I thought Luke Graham was excellent today at doing the dirty work while Hester is finding form and goals at just the right time. Always dangerous being optimistic, but much more positive about a top 4 shot just now.

Hate how he can’t just read out all the divisions full time scores without adding something to some of them.
Left Links Park today heading back up to the road waiting for all the full times thinking they wouldn't be long in coming. Managed the full length of the coast road and was joining the dualer at Stonehaven when he bothered with them. A joke of a programme, now.

Lastly, hope all is well with our elderly fan who suffered what appeared to be a medical emergency in the second half and was stretchered away
Seconded, this did cast a shadow over the second half for me anyway. Hope he's okay.
Very important three points to get on the pitch, at least. Looking forward to watching the highlights as it's difficult to do justice to that game in a summary (much as I'm no fan of some of Alloa's away bampots, their media operation is very good).

Get the “Aberdeen next temporary manager” thread up ffs.
@Ludo*1 now switching to the on-call mobile.
Almost heard the booing from here. Does Colin W outlast the Derek Adams tenure?

Leapfrog the maroon muck either by going up or watching them sink plz

One final insult for QOS with Rossco getting his apperance money, heh.
Super result. Really needed that with Alloa and Cove winning today, next two games against that pair are huge for the direction of out season. As for QOS, that skelping they dished out at LP looking more like the exception than the rule. Nothing against Bartley, but he hasn't done enough and the P45 must be imminent.

SHREE.
Bartley 16 minutes away from the dole office now, surely?

Not all that shocked it didn't get given, probably a hangover from watching last night's less than stellar refereeing performance. We're still in this but impending gut feeling we get picked off on the counter soon.

Fans of creative swearing should enjoy Wicked Little Letters - Colman/Buckley, in fact most of the leads are very good in this. Would warn that if you've seen the trailer it's a bit of a misdirect - it's a darker film that it lets on, but still has quite a few chuckles nonetheless.

Just out of curiosity, looking at how previous tenth placed teams have done in play-offs, as they're our only hope now:
2015 Montrose - 33 points - SAFE
2016 East Stirling - 32 points- DOWN
2017 Cowdenbeath - 35 points - SAFE
2018 Cowdenbeath - 22 points - SAFE
2019 Brechin - 33 points - DOWN
2020 Brechin - 0.63 points (average) - Playoffs cancelled
2021 Brechin - 10 points (22 games) - DOWN
2022 Cowdenbeath - 29 points - DOWN
2023 Albion Rovers - 39 points - DOWN
Worryingly the trend seems to be that the fifth tier teams are getting better and have dominated the playoffs in recent years.
Of the three survival seasons, we were behind in the tie with 20 minutes left and needed a 35 yard wonder strike to win, Cowden beat an eight-man Cove first time round, and then squeaked past EK on pens. That voice you hear in the background is Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman warming up, probably.....

Would have been nice to have Cammy F back, but it's our backline that's maybe needing another body right now.
Great result last night, but really need to start banking wins at LP or we'll be on the wrong side of the play-off line.

Just been to an unlimited screening of The Iron Claw - I'm not an afficionado of wrestling generally and had less than zero knowledge about the von Erich family before going in, but just like The Wrestler it's a film that should engage just about anyone. Has exactly the right blend of throwing around the ring stuff on one hand, and playing out the (extensive) drama on the other. I really liked it - any of the wrasslin' fans on here should find it a treat.

Both games further proof that test cricket still whips the rest IMO.

Australia really struggling against West Indies in this final test.
Aussies do bat a long way down and the Windies are short a bowler, so probably should see this out.
England making a stab of it, which I did not expect to see at all.

Hoping we can field a half-decent team and get something to compensate for the first leg defeat at Links Park.
Would honestly prefer a wind affected P-P to give us another a week or so to do something in the windowTBH.

Bookmark now that anyone asking for Bonnyrigg away who gets it and then moans and bitches about the pitch gets shot.

Thought our makeshift XI did fine in the first half, but other than Lyons ran out of energy and ideas after the break.
Looking forward, we won't finish top 4 if we can't win home games. Let's see what comes in.

We're almost into Ross Campbell re-registering himself territory in terms of bodies today.
Stirling couldn't have asked for a better time to get us, and we haven't won a home league game in yonks either. Would probably take a point and see what the window brings.

The Beekeeper - Jason Statham's latest action vehicle. My expectations were fairly low, but good god it is one of those films that's so stupid you can actually feel your brain cells jumping out of your ears as it goes. What turns out to be a revenge mission for a wee bit of fraud ends up being spun ridiculously far with constant tortuous bee analogies rammed in your face, and what on earth is Jeremy Irons thinking being in this?
It goes all the way to the president of the US, and the final act sees Statham casually punching out heavily armed secret service agents whilst walking up the stairs in the same manner you'd head to the toilet for a dump. It's a damning indictment on the FBI, SWAT teams even by normal dumb action rules.

Why do they keep going for treble 18 and 19s, not really a darts fan
Usually counting purposes when they get to sub-200 and trying to leave big shots, likewise the bull/25 ring.
This could be a cracker.

Got to see the funny side when Sky hype up a game to the rafters and it turns into a 4-0 damp squib. MVG far too clever there.

Coped with Megginson and Burrell fairly easily yesterday if that's any clue. Very fine player IMO, lot of intellegence with his positioning/tackling and we were a more vulnerable side when he was out. Possibly a bit raw for the Prem though TBH I don't watch much of it.
