The Outrun - as an ex-heavy drinker, this one bites a bit. Saoirse Ronan is drying out in Orkney after going big on the cough medicine while in London. This could quite easily descend into recovery-cliche hell, but it jumps around the timeline nicely, the cinemaphotography of Orkney is absolutley wonderful, and the more intense scenes are handled well. It's a slow burner and takes time to breathe, but well worth the two hours. Druzyna A (A) - or 'The AA Team' as translated. Polish in subtitles, and ,my first 'only c**t in the room' screening of the year. Another story concerning recovering alcoholics, this one more of a light hearted caper where they are ironically stealing black-market alcohol to get money to keep their recovery centre open. This does slightly bow to cliche, but the story is quite engaging and the final twist is enjoyably silly. Liked it quite a lot. My Old Ass - not quite as enthused by this as the previous two reviews and if I'm honest I've not really rated Aubrey Plaza in anything (sorry). Her younger self is excellent in this, however . It's perfectly fine though, and willing to bet it's several thousand times better than Megalopolis...

Strange Darling - non linear Tarantino-ish style thriller (that's 35mm film for you) about a serieal killer which jumps around the timeline to try and keep you guessing. It's quite engaging, but not much more than that. The Substance - f'kin hell fire! One of the most slam-dunk 18 certificate films of the year. Take the most deranged Black Mirror episode you've seen, stretch it out, chuck in some classic body-horror and you're not even close. Both female leads excellent, and the final act is utter carnage. Watch it on the biggest screen you can.

citydiehard's extended family in, were they? Very impressive start from Brechin - saw BOD/Deveronvale a couple of weeks back and felt the home side were a touch lightweight and likely not title contenders.

Answered yer own question TBH. I reckon the 'what time does Tezza get his yellow' should go from being an informal sweepstake game in the dynamo to a regulated lottery to bring in more coffers. -
Plenty of the regulars are firing in complaints/feedback as well, so I'd hope these issues are rectified in the next fortnight. Trying to push folk into buying tickets online and giving them virus alerts for their trouble is a terrible, terrible look, and that's before any cybersecurity implications....

Easier game than expected. Ton of niggly fouling which did nothing to help the flow. I felt we made much more of our spells going forward than Stenny, who couldn't unlock us for love nor money. Gardyne MOTM for me as he controlled everything in the middle, but two very nice finishes in the first half. Hope Kane takes confidence from it and pushes on.

I saw it late at night and don't have a huge affinity for the first one and thought I might doze off, but managed to stay with it quite easily. Speak No Evil - James McAvoy has a lot of fun with an inconsistent west country accent. It's not as good or tense as the original, but it's pretty good fun when it gets going. Lee - rather less 'fun' this, but a well told biopic for the most part - the second half is quite a tough watch. The final scene may divide opinion, too. Cast are excellent, Winslet espeically.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice - not great, not bad, some laughs, but a couple of the bigger set pieces at the end didn't land for me at all. Writers have got round the fact that one of the key characters from the first film can't be in it because he's a wrong 'un quite well.

Hammy and Goldie’s resurgent Arbroath vs same old Montrose

Tactical masterstroke from SP to show the gulf in class between the sides for 15 minutes before letting them win and busy up their season with some irrelevant diddy cup IMO. -
Just seen this film earlier - Chris Weitz has a habit of films with interesting concepts that end up narratively being a bit of mess, American Dreamz springs to mind. 4/10 film I would agree Terminator 40th anniversary 4k remaster tomorrow. Lord yes.

Not really, segregation only in place if there's a large support estimated or if there's a history of trouble from the away side. Think Stenny avoid both categories so will be fine. -
What is Arnold Schwarzenegger's best film?

Batman and Robin would have been the Yogi Hughes option in this poll IMO. T2 is probably the most accomplished film, but I prefer watching T1. Commando third, then the rest. -
Heh. Good performance from us tonight on the Beeb boax oafice, still think there is a bit more to come from our forwards when Hester gets fully fit. On we go.

Had a day off yesterday and needed a rest so did 4 films back-to-back. It's surprisingly toll-taking - has anyone gone more? Won't do full reviews, but Blink Twice is a quite interesting Escape From Wrong 'Un Island thriller , The Crow is utter toot with sub-video game special effects splatter, It Ends With Us would be a generic cliche-ridden 2.15 Wednesday afternoon Channel 5 fluff were it not for the DV stuff, thankfully Between The Temples was a light if slightly slow-burning comedy about an ennui-ridden cantor.
