Skacel was a player unfortunately it was for hearts and not us. Appreciate you look at sports through 🇺🇸 eyes and moneyball type info but I agree with brashy’s boots, IM will and should leave the money to the board and push his luck for players he really wants

Cloughie was exactly the same. Brought on players, or identified players to play whether the chairman sanctioned it or not. It’s called taking risks. Good or bad!

We currently have five players that have missed large chunks of the season through injury, or even all of it (Matthews). The only one of those not under contract for next season is Tom Lang.

The lack of players' availability is one of the reasons the club is hemorrhaging money - medical bills and bringing in other players to compensate. It is never a guarantee that a player will get repeatedly injured, but at some stage you have to ask whether the risk is worth it. Players that have repeated injuries will generally continue to get them, and we cannot afford a repeat of this season, especially when we run with a small squad. Not saying I would allow Vaughan to leave specifically, but I would certainly not stand in the way of allowing at least one of Vaughan, Matthews, Gullan or Ross to leave given their injury history. That list there is in preference order of who I would most like to keep.

The amount of injuries this season has been an absolute disgrace; it can't continue. And one way of trying to sort this out is, unfortunately, to allow the players that are often unavailable to leave the club.

I got tear soaked seethe when I mentioned Vaughan. Christ “ dare I say it Vaughan” was all I said.

Maybe he is aiming to get better players in. We've under performed for 2 seasons, some of our players just ain't good enough.

In terms of Nolan he's not good enough to go down south and play league 2 football. He's not got the strength, aggression and can panic. If we resign Lang, release Nolan and find 2 CHs with experience, build etc then I would be happy. Masson if he stays can be 4th choice. Find a better left back and resign Tumilty who was the best player on the park in the cup final.

There’s only been 2 players that have stood out all season and that’s Scott Brown and Jammer. The rest that are out of contract, and those that are contracted can leave. Another piss poor season down the swanny

Genuine question, what positive impact would dropping to P/T actually have? You’re still in a mightily competitive market for players, either way.

Throw into the mix that you’re then likely giving up some revenue in any case as you’ll need the pitch a couple of weeknights for training?

It’s fine saying it’ll save on wages but it’s going to (likely) lead to a far less competitive team on the park, which is counterproductive to your point about getting bums on seats.

Bottom line is, I’d like to see the maths for it but it doesn’t strike me as the obvious choice that others seem to see it as.

The full timers really aren’t making a case for getting bums on seats either, the crowd situation is the factor in all of this. The debacle with DG really hasn’t subsided, a lot of dyed in the wool fans haven’t set foot in Starks Park since. The fact we were a community club went right out of the window when that c**t turned up. We’re also losing money hand over fist. The truth is we simply can’t afford to operate as a full time club

  5. Talking of letting MacDonald go can get in the sea. Unless we can’t afford him obviously. The defence has plagued us all season. We have big money players consistently injured. I wanted Gullan to sign, I just didn’t really know how injury prone he is. If club finances are the sticking point then we should be looking to drop the full time status, our crowds are terrible and that’s the truth. The Goodwillie effect has done serious damage to the club’s reputation, and the loss of major sponsorship hasn’t helped either. If this take over is genuine, then it’s up to them to appeal to the wider community to get on board. If all they bring is expertise then let’s see it.

I'm fairly certain Sim said at the AGM he'd still have 49% and would remain the largest single shareholder, all of the others would make up 51% but that would include the Raith Trust and all the individuals (the wee people) who attended the AGM.  In theory he'd only need to sway 2% of the shareholders and he'd still have control.

If I was Mr McKenzie that would be my biggest worry.

I kinda knew that old buzzard would scupper the deal. “ btw, it’s still ma club”

  7. I don’t think it’s just the hatred of the championship, it’s total apathy in the Scottish game. Our game is absolutely awful. The arse pipe teams recruit foreigners, why the f**k would that scum sign Scots. The Country in itself is the Drug death capital of Europe, there isn’t a large pool of talent in the country to pluck from. All the decent Scots players left are either aging or injury prone, more the latter. Sorry I promised myself not to be negative😢

They’re a club looking for instant success (understandable as they’ve been down there a few seasons now) my warning was McGlynn isn’t a one season manager it’ll take a second season to build his team. His playoff record certainly won’t fill them with confidence.  While the Scottish Cup is a great day out there’s no way they’re winning it and it’s now probably a massive distraction for them.

I’m sorry if Failkirk can’t beat Cove or Hamilton then they deserve to stay down. McGlynn the ultimate shite the bed tactician😆😆
