Tom Brighton had a decent game last night because he was playing at his true level, he is East of Scotland class at best.

Let's not say never, there is still plenty of time to get some inspirational signings completed before the start of the new season. In fact, maybe some of the ones already signed up could be better than expected. I do however think we are all pinning too much hope on the youth players coming through.

Not tempted to go to see Queens this season with the current signings.

No, but I think that is the only sort of player he can afford. As I've said before, Gus McPherson is our Jimmy Nicholl. With the calibre of player that is being talked about on here, we will most certainly be on par with the Stirling team of last season.

My Father says when he was following Queens in the 1960's, Dumfries had a population of over 30,000. Gus says on the Official site that Dumfries has 35,000 inhabitants these days. Seems strange when there wasn't a Lochvale, Georgetown, Heathhall and now some of them are absolutely huge. Many new schemes built all over the housing estates of the toon. Maybe ten hooses to every person born since 1980? I would imagine it has been divided into voting areas?

Let's face it, yer hame team is yer ain team. You cannae change clubs, FFS I tried to change to Annan and only lasted about 3 hours. This man is either bringing money and business acumen (hopefully both though) and if that is the case, good on him. I am open minded and happy that there is a wind of change inside Palmerston at the moment.

I was too, until I saw it was only for one year. It looks like he is only taking this job until he finds something better. Mind you, times are hard, maybe he will get decent players looking for a 9 month full-time contract, but I think the better players will hold out for something better knowing he is no here long term.

I don't think Gus McPherson would have taken this job if he wasn't given certain promises from our BOD. It is blatantly obvious that funds have be found or there is another investor out there. We will soon know the truth when we start to see the calibre of players that he signs.
