  1. As I've said, that's fine by me. Just get the players and the friendlies sorted quickly. Looks like we'll be playing Abbey Vale, Fleet Star, Creetown and the like.
  2. No silly. I intend to see the other nine teams this season and also Ayr away and the Scottish Cup games if it's no against another 1st Division side.
  3. To be honest with you I agree with you, I think they are the best option. It would be a risk taking on someone without experience at this level. I was sort of hoping the John Hartson rumour was true, an inspirational signing would have put bums on seats. Let's hope that Gus McPherson can raise the profile of the club and make the fans more enthusiastic to turn up every other week.
  4. Oh you'll see me at Palmerston more often this season, I've managed to get more Saturdays off in future. I'll be sticking to the rules though, I aint paying to see the same team twice.
  5. I'm not too sure that this new management team will lift the depression still hoovering above Palmerston. Don't see a big infusion of local people streaming towards the ground to buy season tickets. We will just end up picking all the castoffs that no one else really wants, whether it will be enough to keep Queens away from the bottom spot awaits to be seen.
  6. Don't let things go to his head, look what happened the last time he got his hands on paperwork.
  7. HTH? Anyway Mr X it is now absolutely vital that a high profile manager is contracted or we really are in trouble. Has anyone heard if somebody is fixing up preseason muckaboot games? Even more important this season than any I can ever remember.
  8. You are quite correct Musky, we really do need a high profile manager brought in or we will not be able to motivate the locals for the coming season. I would imagine that season ticket sales must be at their lowest point since we returned to this level? Only Skyline will know the answer to that, but doubt he will give us any indications. PS. I saw on the MAD site that at one point you were not going to enter the shirt draw, but then decided to. Did you?
  9. Maybe he is also a lot smarter than we all think! I'm sure he knows that other teams are frightened to offer contracts at the moment, there are still plenty of good players without clubs. I'm just not too sure that the players that are available are good enough to succeed at our level.
  10. Just saw on the MAD site that Allan Irvine is now in the frame.
  11. Aye auld Davie is past it now, starting to lose his marbles. I just can't understand why someone from the BOD or an outsider doesn't try to take control of the club.
  12. How can anyone respect the Scotland manager after that formation. I'm still seething from that night, naw he wouldnay ken what a striker was even if he scored in every single game.
  13. And besides, when did they have schools beyond primary level in the Clayhole?
  14. Look, you should be old enough to have heard it on the telly, even I can remember them talking about them dancing on the streets of Raith.
  15. I actually like Partick Thistle, if I lived in Glesga, I'd probably go and watch them. Mind you, if I lived in Raith, I would probably watch Cowdenbeath.
  16. A ken that, but I'm a snob nooadays, I dinnae want to be associated with rif-raf frae the clayhole.
  17. FFS move on will you. A team of Queens size should never look forward to playing a team like Stranraer. I hope it's 50 years before we ever get a chance to play them again in a league game. It was only because of Wullie Harkness that we managed to play them so much during that horrible 30 year stage that the club went through. I couldn't imagine the Old Firm fans getting excited with playing Partick bloody Thistle again in any tournament.
  18. I don't know how many groundsmen work at Palmerston, but one would be more than enough. They don't even clean the bird shit of the seats before a home game, but they always have time for that extra cup of tea ye ken.
  19. I see Queens have now got rid of their Commercial Manager on a full-time basis. If ever there was somewhere you wouldn't cut, then surely that is it? I really don't think that the BOD have a fecking clue to what they are doing, with all this negativity, there will be many a gate of under 800 and I'm the one to ken that.
  20. I didn't mean in style, weight or size, I meant he is a good second level player, end of.
  21. I don't think so, he's too light weight. A bit like Wullie Gibson, a good second level player but not good enough for the SPL. He will spend most of your one season in the top league sitting on the bench.
  22. Exactly, but even these two teams are way above his capabilities unfortunately.
  23. A bit part player with St Johnstone, a bit part player with Blackpool and a bit part player with Swansea. Even Chisholm kept him oot of the team for spells. As for Scotland, yer taking the biscuit there son.
  24. Aye and so are the Queens BoD. Nae friendlies, nae players and nae manager and with all that, nae hope.
  25. No, this deserves it's own thread, if we did this under your rules we'd be trolling too long every day. It would be boring too, a message board deserves more varied topics.
