I think he’s class. He should defo try that driving with the ball, trying to waltz through an entire opposition thing at least once a game. Only fear is that some players are unlucky with injuries - hope he’s not one of those.

I think a lot of this comes down to expectations. What do we actually reasonably expect from the team this season? What have we been told is the target? And hey - what has Veldman actually been tasked with? Is it just stay up this year, get some games in the legs and try and put a run together next season? Who knows. I’m my most optimistic moments, I can see this team starting to click and putting together some results. Flip side is an injury/ suspension to Spong and Paton and we’re snookered. Although anyone really think that if we’re still pish and seriously struggling in December the Lord won’t just splash the cash?

Was pretty shocked at the time but the more I think about the Tizzard sub the more I think it was the right call. That was the 3rd time he’d lost possession under zero pressure and there was no indication that it would be his last - you can bank on Airdrie targeting him for the rest of the game after that. Sore one but if it’s a lesson he learns it will be worth it over the course of his career and hopefully over the rest of the season. But a lot of this comes back to squad building… the fact that we sub a 20 year old and replace him with a 19 year old is wild.

Yeah “weeks away” that’s absolutely wild stuff. No mention of Tizzard in the injury update either? Not massively sure what to make of him being away getting his badges, although would be right interested to know who was taking the course. Huge stuff tomorrow. In the pre-match was there not some chat about keeping the team stable then he shuffles defence and midfield? Tizzard?? Massive lack of leadership… in the boardroom, in the dugout, on the pitch. Think we need to give Haughey (and co?) credit where it's due for pursuing this appointment in the first place. Could have appointed any old pals act jobber, but they wanted to try something different. Can't imagine he/they wold have changed that fundamental opinion / vision since then...?

I’d hoped that this was just a throwaway line in an interview or something but van Gaal is back at Ajax as an adviser so feels like a bit more weight behind it. Beuker + Veldman - jury out on the manager, but still just about on board. Veldman without Beuker - nope.

Paton absolutely wasted in this team. That chance in the first half shows he’ll get goals if you get him service. Our tactics are all about moving teams from side to side apparently… good to know we’ve got some. Taking Hepburn off after his most threatening moment in weeks was another tactical master-stroke. Falkirk away about the worst possible game for us at the moment. Pish.
