  1. Marc Kelly starts as a trialist. Murphy, Snowdon, Sime, Hunter and Campbell. Midfield Morgan Gemmell, Jacobs. Up front Keast Wright and Kelly.
  2. Fraser Keast couldn't score in a brothel with a suitcase of cash......... hopefully that post will see the wee man bang in a goal or two to prove me wrong.
  3. Decent weather today for the trip to Oakley. Dry with no chance of midges. Mon the BU's !!;
  4. Trip to Oakley tomorrow. Hopefully the BU's can put in a 90 minutes good performance rather than the recent up and down efforts.
  5. Some of the BU play last night was excellent........but some was dire. Loads of work to do on the fitness front........and the shooting front. And as for goalie Marshall he needs to really work on his kicking.
  6. And the biggest laugh of the night was at the offensive language the Leith player screamed at his teammate. Not going to repeat it on here though as the Mods would go into meltdown.
  7. I thought we bossed the first half and should have been out of sight. The ball was on the deck, there was some decent passing and movement but the finishing was poor. Second half I expected an avalanche of goals but as so often the BU's made the fans suffer. Substitutions wrecked the shape of the team and long balls up the pitch seemed to be the plan of attack. Once again it didn't work and giving away possession so many times encouraged our opponents. The Leith goal was a stinker for the defence. Two players cannot block a cross and a midget heads in the ball between 2 centrehalfs. Leith had a great chance to equalise but Marshall pulled off a fine save. Last 10 minutes were torturous but we held on for a deserved victory but it should have been so much easier.
  8. I think the top 2 go through from each group. Jeanfield 6 points with +4 goals. Oakley and Boness 3 points with -1 goals BUT Oakley have scored 3 goals and the BU's only 2. Leith 0 points and -2 goals. So basically the BU's need to beat Oakley. Any other result and we are out.
  9. MacKenzie makes it 2-0 to Boness in a game we have dominated in midfield.
  10. Marshall Jacobs Sime El-Zubadi, Campbell, . Midfielders MacDonald Gemmell Morgan Watt. Up front Keast and Mackenzie.
  11. Sack Kegs ?? Too nice a guy for the committee to sack this early in the season. Hopefully the BU's will win 5 or 6 nil tonight and we will get massive waves of optimism on here. Mon the BU's !!!!
  12. If we wait another 15 years we could get the age defying Kenny Miller in as player/manager.
  13. I totally agree that it looks like we are needing some players but if Kegs isn't going to bring them in then he needs to come up with a system that gets more midfielders further up the park and supporting the attack.
  14. We had chances to take the lead on Saturday but the players failed to score. That was the problem last season as well. Should have been addressed by the manager.
  15. These players are not going to get any faster Sheep .
  16. Tactically and personnel wise Jeanfield got it right. Play it quickly forward to players who are in an open space. Then get other players forward quickly to support them. It's not rocket science. Meantime the BU's are playing it along the backline, before playing it into a striker who has wandered back into a cluttered midfield. Striker dribbles a bit before playing it back to a midfielder who is now sitting on top of the BU back 4 and has no option but to hit a speculative ball up the park to the other BU forward who is surrounded by at least 3 opposition defenders..............and repeat ad finitum. Todays play was like Groundhog Day. It was frustrating beyond believe. Surely Kegs and the players can come up with a system that creates a better performance and more shots on our opponents goal.
  17. No doubt Jeanfield were the better side today. There were several times when the BU's rode their luck against the counterattack. It was a 0-2 defeat but it could have been more.
  18. Two defensive errors = two goals. It happens. Jeanfield were faster and looked fitter than us. They also had a bit more shape and balance than us. The main gripe from me was that on the attacking front we were dire. Mackenzie and Keast were usually dropping back into the cluttered midfield to take possession. From there they have to turn and then beat midfielders and defenders to get a shot on goal. What's wrong with Mackenzie just sitting up front between the centrehalfs ?? Our central midfielders have no pace and are too easily ran around. Watt when out wide carries a bit of an attacking threat but his crossing was poor. The Jeanfield keeper pulled off a great save from Keast but apart from that he was hardly tested. We still lack a direct playing no 9 and an attacking midfielder with pace.
  19. Full time. 0-2 to Jeanfield. MOTM Murphy for at least trying a bit.
