Can’t believe it’s 2 legs. Looking at all 4 teams left they at least have 15 games left in the league season. Why add another 2 to the schedule
Some might wonder why the SJFA would care about the impact on these new-dangled senior leagues.

No but were supposed to one Union. It would give Scottish clubs more money. From Fans, Sponsors and TV. Think about it
Hearts VS Newcastle or Liverpool
Aberdeen VS Manchester City
Raith Rovers VS Hull City
The rival between English and Scottish fans-Battle of Britain week in and week out.
I’ve thought about it, as have most of the posters on here. You’ve failed to explain what would be the attraction for the EPL clubs, their fans and sponsors.
The harsh reality is that introducing Scottish clubs would reduce the quality (and profitability) of the league. The OF “might” be exceptions, but they’d bring a hefty downside in the shape of hordes of knuckle-dragging bigoted supporters laying waste to English towns.

It was a Friday.
In defence of White City it was still used regularly by FA through 1960s for Amateur Cup SFs, amateur and youth internationals and had been used by QPR couple of years prior. I'd speculate some other London venues may have had their pitches shut regrowing etc.I seem to remember that the FA's preference was for Highbury, but the pitch there was too small to meet the World Cup rules. White City had a much greater capacity then any of the other London options.

Plug? I thought it was Steve Cooper.

Keep getting told we have a healthy committee, i am sure between them and all grass we would have had the pitch ready for Saturday. We have spent a fortune on pitch, which i delighted at, no complaints on that front, I am sure it would take two games that weekend no problem.
Notice no comment on the Loudoun scenario, were you hoping that wouldn't be aired? It is your committee man after all. This isn't libel this is purely facts that have been minuted etc...by the gowf club. You are either unaware of what I am talking about or don't have a clue what you are on about. Also for libel to be applied, someone needs to be named, the statement they are named in is factually wrong and their character needs to be wrongly tarnished, I urge you to ask a few questions to any of the golfer pals you have at Loudoun and I am sure they will know straight away what I am on about. I just hope as a club we haven't left ourselves exposed to anything like that, no accusations in that statement or suggestions that we have.
I know a couple of the committee guys at Bonnyton and they were put in a tricky position over money that hadn't been paid when due.
Contract law states that even when not being paid, if you off your own accord fail to uphold your end then any claim against the employer can be null and void, it is still in players interest to be putting in a shift. Whether at Darvel or somewhere else next season, they need to be putting in good performances if they want a move and to earn the same money we are paying.
As you're a legal expert, I'm surprised you don't know that there is no libel in Scots law.

Fortunately the new pitch is a rectangle and good viewing points can be found not just behind the goals...
What? Not circular like most "soccer" grounds?

Not long after I joined this forum in 2011, it went into meltdown over the Rangers/Sevco fiasco.
Almost everyone (apart from”Rangers” supporters) banged on - correctly - about “Sporting integrity”). Whatever happened to that?0 -
This has already been posted, with very little response. I suspect people on here are fed up with such requests.

If Edinburgh Uni do come down and the league opt to Demote 4 it will then have a knock on affect for the leagues below. Demoting 4 from the premier league will then create an imbalance in the leagues below also.
it would require other leagues to demote 4 while only promoting 3, this would surely be more of an issue than just having 17 clubs in one league. as cant see many clubs being happy with this happening.
They may not be happy, but they knew the rules.

ETA that's before you even discuss the issue of licensing for potential LL/HL champions
AFAIK all clubs in the HL and LL are licensed. It's a condition of entry.

That's exactly who I have in mind, mate. And please don't try to explain the difference between a criminal and civil court conviction to me.
Should I try to explain the law on defamation?

Football gained its popularity when most fans stood on the terracing, had a drink if they wanted, argued about one-off, irreversible decisions and lived off the memories of the goals and incidents that they alone witnessed.
I accept we can't return to those days but I feel that "they'"are trying to strait-jacket all aspects of football to an anodyne, antiseptic formula, along with some very dubious (no, outright wrong) interpretations of the rules of soccer.
"Soccer"?
Anyway, wouldn't leaving FIFA etc. mean no more international movement of players? All the non-Scottish players would b*gger off ASAP, and any ambitious and talented (don't laugh) Scots players wouldn't be happy.

I scoured the annals of Turkish football league but couldn't find an equivalent team that signed a convicted rapist, mate. Sorry!
Goodwillie was never actually convicted of rape, or do you have someone else in mind?

I was suggesting the top flight of ALL countries should be payed for and officiated by FIFA. This would globally clear up football in the top flights and cup quarter, semi and finals.
"FIFA"? "Clean up football"?
Is that the same FIFA which has been immersed in corruption scandals for about two decades?

The RSPCA is opposed to this ban, which we don’t believe is effective in protecting the public. We do not agree with the broad legal definition of an XL Bully dog announced by the UK Government but we must comply with the law and we are committed to supporting dog owners as we await more information.
Isn’t the RSPCA’s sole purpose to support dogs, not their owners?

Let’s think about this.
We’re running the EPL, the most profitable league in the world. how can we improve it? I know, let’s get rid of Chelsea, Newcastle, Palace, etc. and replace them with Dundee, St Mirren and Linfield. That should do the trick..

Dont think they were police officers, not sure of the rules round civillians.
Some of the “rules” apply to everybody - e.g. perverting the course of justice, and conspiracy.
Some apply both to police and civvies working for them - misconduct in public office.0 -
Fascinating thread, many thanks to the OP.
What particularly caught my eye was the postage stamp under the signatures on the contract.
I can (just!) remember when very legal document, even a trivial shop receipt, had to have a 2d stamp attached, as a way of collecting tax. Not abolished until early 1970s.

As you have agreed, that's not a law, it's a proposal (and a half-baked one at that). And it's only aimed to address the English game, so I've heard no suggestion it would apply in Scotland.

The UK Government are looking at bringing in legislation to prevent English sides from joining the Super League.
This may be the first good thing the Tories have ever done.
I don't know how they could justify that - it seems like 'restraint of trade' which is contrary to all Tory principles.
But if they do, it will presumably be all UK teams, though that's probably academic.
