  1. Why would they bother to come and "give the facts" when all the info on licensing is freely available on the SFA website?
  2. It's not difficult at all. I find it easy to imagine that IM might think 1. TJ runs a tinpot organisation, and/or 2. TJ is several levels below IM in the food chain, and/or 3. TJ is a **** and so is not an obvious candidate for informal social interaction.
  3. Indeed. The Labour Party did, with disastrous results.
  4. 50 years ago when I watched HL regularly, there were 16 teams and a sectional league cup, so 36 "league" games, plus two KO cups and the KO stages of the league cup. Also, as said, dire weather and long travel. In those days only two clubs had lights, but the league seldom failed to finish the season on time. The phrase "soft southern B*****ds" springs to mind.
  5. Why not? Cowden seem keen to copy "Rangers" in other ways too.
  6. The whole point of an AGM is that all shareholders can attend and (within limits) speak. There's no law against them talking rubbish.
  7. Wouldn't that create the same overlap problem we're already trying to avoid?
  8. If there is a clear picture(?), then why does it have to wait until there's a general meeting? Don't these people know about phones, e-mail, snail mail, etc ...?
  9. People complain that the SFA don't know or care about non-league football. How would removing Cove and the SAFA improve that?
  10. Let's keep a sense of proportion: it would not be "a big marketable occasion". It would be a play-off for entry to a league whose average attendance is barely into treble figure. The prize for the winner of that league, in turn, is the opportunity to try for entry to a league which is only marginally more attractive. Apple, Coca Cola and Nike will not be queueing up to sponsor it.
  11. I imagine some of the players who are fined are pretty upset, particularly when their senior counterparts (some earning 100 times as much) don't.
  12. But they are not equal. The SJFA is affiliated to the SFA, and all junior clubs are registered members of the SFA. They are, in all respects, "junior".
  13. Maybe, but can you find anything in the SFA constitution to give them that power?
  14. The problem is that LA boundaries get changed, by politicians who have nothing better to do. They've been "restructured" at least twice since postcodes were introduced.
  15. Indeed it is, politically and administratively. The Tayside region was abolished years ago. However, it is unarguably on the side of the Tay.
  16. Who are "their members with the most clout"? The Premier League? I suspect they know little, and care less, about non-league football.
  17. AIUI the SJFA members have voted to join the pyramid en masse. If that should be achieved (which I seriously doubt), then any mind-changers would presumably have to form their own "breakaway" league(s) and association(s) and apply for affiliation to the SFA. They could call themselves the Real Juniors, or maybe the Provisional Juniors. All of this makes Brexit seem a model of sanity and good organisation.
  18. If, for example, the West Juniors were to go it alone and opt to join the pyramid next season , what "power" does the SJFA have to stop them? What does continuing membership of the SJFA offer them?
  19. Hardly surprising. Who reads the rag, apart from Sevco supporters?
  20. £2,500 is well beyond Rangers credit limit.
  21. And does it pay NI contributions, and deduct PAYE, on this benefit in kind?
  22. So, if I understand it correctly, for identical offences - a Rangers or Celtic player who earns tens of thousands a week, pays nothing - a junior player, who earns next to nothing, is fined and this is justified to pay the wages of the officials. Bloody revolutions have started for less.
  23. No, they're a multi-sport club. Do you think Barcelona aren't a "real football club"?
  24. Nice to know that at least senior fans aren't afraid to leave the county.
