  1. That second half performance though was very good, Hearts looked fragile and it's been rare to see Hartley change a game like that with his substitutions. Not been a big fan of McGowan this season, but he was very good when he came on tonight. Thought O'Dea looked a bit all over the place first half, but again was different class. Good start to the Christmas period!
  2. Ah, never saw any of that, I apologise! Yeh, the abuse tonight was hardly the unfair criticism a large portion of our fans regularly dish out. Shocking attitude from Bain that, especially bad to go over at the end. Don't understand that, don't think there's many in the stands spewing because we've just won 3-2.
  3. Not been a fan of Bain at times this year, but fail to see what he did wrong tonight unless I missed something? Edit: reading other thread, never realised how he acted during game/at half time. My bad
  4. Don't know if anyone is a Nutmeg subscriber but the two articles on Dundee in Issue 2 are really good. The deefiant one brought back some good memories.
  5. They've not said too much, but supposedly a few companies have looked at it before but the cost of sensors is so expensive it wasn't worthwhile. When you come in you scan your barcode and it then associates you as a person with that account, so cameras will take a photo of you then. While you pick up items, cameras and sensors placed everywhere will work out what it is you pick up and who is picking up using a basic-ish type of artificial intelligence. Seems like a lot of bother for the company, but who knows it might turn out to be a massive success. The food shopping industry is one Amazon are pushing heavily to get into.
  6. For someone who has a sum total of 12 games as a (failed) manager he comes across as if he's a genius of the game. Made an absolute dick of himself. I liked when Tom called him out on it with his sources. Went from he's never coached other than kids to he's only involved with the didees.
  7. At least someone who does nothing can't do anything wrong! What do you study throbber?
  8. There's always the one who's over the top, super keen and undoubtedly absolutely terrible when it comes to handing in their part
  9. Got a yellow cab the first time I went to New York, pretty sure it was around $70 with all other charges etc. Can't remember if that was with a tip or not. Not sure about avoiding the tolls stuff though sorry.
  10. Absolutely gubbed with it all. Was building up the distance nicely again, looking towards getting a Sub 24 5k and a sub 2 hour half in the next few months, but all gone to shit. Been diagnosed with glandular fever, just constant lethargy and even a 15 minute run left me near enough bed bound! Average recovery time is around 8 weeks then it'll be like starting from nothing again! Oh well, life goes on.
  11. Anyone got any experience of Dutch leagues? Looking to get tickets for Utrecht v Go Ahead Eagles on 15th October, looking online theres loads of tickets left but season ticket holders only sale just now. Anyone know if that changes closer to kick off or is it a case of only third party sellers?
  12. Same with modern languages and I think engineering at Glasgow. People I know doing languages got their classifications yesterday, hopefully be soon.
  13. That out and in section is just a bit soul destroying
  14. Nah, saw the guy you meant as well though, he was a bit ahead of me!
  15. Hope everyone got on well at Edinburgh! 2:08 for me, so nearly 20 minutes better off than last year. Well chuffed with that
  16. Yeh I find that cycling in any form helps and isn't too taxing if you just do a leisurely ride. Obviously a spin class is not. How were the Pilates? Been thinking about them/yoga for ages but feel a bit awkward going and being a young bloke if I'm honest. No running for me since Tuesday, got my wisdom teeth taken out so my face is about 3x the size and quite a bit of pain! Never thought I'd miss running but Im itching to get out and do a nice 10 miler.
  17. Hit the 80 mile mark for runs this year. I know a few of you will do that in a couple of weeks but a decent achievement for me. Never been running this consistently before and I'm finding it getting easier with each run. Already taken around a minute off my average pace per km so pretty happy with that. Signed up for Edinburgh half so time to get the mileage in. Longest run so far been around the 9 mile mark so should be okay.
  18. Trying to get back into cycling again so planning on getting out this weekend. Anyone got any decent routes from West End of Glasgow? I'm keen to not spend too much time on busy roads whereas most routes seem to suggest just that? ETA: Scratch that, just realised there is traffic free routes. Confused with all this national cycle network stuff but now see I can take the 7 as far as Loch Lomond
  19. Thanks, was trying to find something like that but couldn't see anything. Might have to think again about doing a half then. That Black Rock Five looks good, might give that a shot. And the Edinburgh half....
  20. 5.5km tonight much quicker than last few weeks. Down to 33 minutes for that which isn't too shabby for me. Was planning on doing the Skye half marathon....until I realised I had dates wrong by a month. Any recommendations for decent halfs around July? Thinking I might just do Edinburgh again but not sure if I'd get a PR from last year which I'd want!
