Interesting that Lionel Wickson mentions the QOS away game, Jamie Ewings was the only player after that game to applaud the fans after that game; that, for me, was huge. I just think Jazza inspires confidence throughout the team. When he came back in the team we looked so much stronger and the back four especially seemed a unit all fighting for each other knowing the 'keeper was giving his all. Where as the defenders don't seem to have that confidence in Brown. His body language is not that of a confident 'keeper fighting for his backline. I think the first goal against Dundee is an example of a lack of confidence in Brown, I think Wright would have let Ewings deal with the ball rather than try deal with it himself.

When have you seen Ewings play at this level exactly?

He was/is a player without a position. I suppose Garry Fleming is the same, it is no easy task trying to explain to people what kind of player he is.

I liked Tony Wallace, glad he's back playing senior football.

Brown is pretty much the opposite of what we need in midfield - we need someone to stick rigidly to a defensive role; Brown is the most role-less centre mid I've seen.

I imagine clubs/players may be looking from the outside at our results in the cup and having us as certs for relegation. The clubs probably don't want their players progression perhaps being stalled by playing in a relegation-bound team (not that I think we are). However, Lindsay going to Morton is annoying because I don't think they have a particularly good squad and could easily see them struggling themselves.

Had as many bad games as he had good games - decent player but not too bothered that we didn't get him back. Annoying to see him turn up at a league rival though.

I agree about Docs, would be interesting to see him in centre mid - don't think, as others have suggested, it would be best for the team if he was on the wing.

I really don't think we're looking to bring in a first choice '15 goal' striker - I'm pretty sure Thomo will be our main striker for the season, with Stevenson, Todd and Gaz supporting at times - the wingers will also be expected to chip in with goals. Also think Buchanan will score a good amount due to Stevo's outstanding deliveries. I'd like to see us bring in a centre half; Wright really doesn't look up to playing 90 minutes, especially not regularly. We clearly need a defensive mid - however, you've then got the problem of one of Stevo, Gaz and Todd dropping out or replacing a winger. We have plenty of options in behind the striker this season, in complete contrast to last. So if we were to sign another striker, it would have to be an out-and-out number 9.

Ayr fans seem to be far too confident for the season ahead, not really sure why. Their manager keeps throwing about the names of strikers way out of their league and then not signing them... Unsurprisingly. On paper I'd say we have a stronger team, but the remaining signings for both teams could be crucial.

I can see Annan spending loads of money pursuing this and it being ruled in Dumbarton's favour. Annan then having no money and having to release all their players, instead the fans have to play every week; led by captain Marco44. After a season where the best result was a 17-1 loss to Edinburgh City's U20s they get relegated and are never seen in the senior leagues again.

I imagine we have our striker for the season in Thomson - With Gaz and Stevo expected to chip in with goals from midfield - Aitken is probably after a backup striker who can ideally play on the wing as well.
