  1. He's Aggy's mate, not sure if that means anything.
  2. Asking how Scottish Football attracts significantly more fans is similar to asking how the Labour Party regains support in Scotland... The whole thing needs to die and be completely reborn.
  3. And you should see him on the dance floor!
  4. Have you found someone for the tickets yet, Wilf?
  5. Hiya club officials! If you have a problem with anything I post on here, you know who Sweet Pete is, everyone does!
  6. I, for one, demand this bearded man in a blue hoodie is hung, on the centre-spot of the pitch, at half time of our next home game.
  7. We have at least two with European experience (Jazza and CT), I think Mair may have played in Europe too.
  8. The game tonight was a good run out, it was played at a high tempo, we completely dominated possession, some nice moves/passages of play. Our key players all looked sharp. Shug Murray looked good, Vanzy looked pretty good, got forward well, but wasn't tested defensive, Taggart made a couple of good runs and took his goal well, but also wasn't tested. Lumsden had a good game, deal with everything he had to, which wasn't much. I'm not sure the odd line-up was a tactical move, I think he just played the players he wanted to play and just told them to work it out - they moved around a lot. Was 4-3-3 sometimes and 4-3-1-2 at others Turner was moved up-front later in the game, think that might be something Murray was trying out. Turner said at the POTY awards he prefers to get forward.
  9. He didn't play, at all. Literally couldn't tell you anything about him, he struggled to even be an un-used substitute for most of his time here, even when we had extremely limited defensive options
  10. Brilliant player; was key for us last season - without him we wouldn't have finished where we did.
  11. I think it's disgraceful that some of the people who go every week, home and away, and attend all the events, such as player of the year, the quiz night etc, will have to go without a season ticket this season. We are still a small enough club that the people running the club know a large amount of our core support - this core should be able to have a season ticket, if they choose to, until such point the entire home-end is sold out. It doesn't make sense, we are not going to sell out most of our games - why have empty seats allocated for people who walk up on the day, that will be empty apart from 6 matches? Surely that just doesn't make financial sense
  12. I was about to post the same. The quoted 14 quid per head, is based on two games, a lot of that cost would be reduced, per game, due to the fact we are looking at getting use of a stand for 6 games. The fence only needs moved once, the ground only needs secured once, planning only needs to be applied for once etc etc. I'm not sure what the real reason behind what looks likely to be a lack of a temporary stand is. I do agree with others, in that I think it's a bit weird that our board can't seem to make it work financially, when others have done the same thing, despite only have 2 big home games, when we'll have, at least, 6.
  13. I think that Smith will be given pre-season to get himself fit. I think he's a good option to have as cover, if he can get himself to a stage where he actually looks like a footballer. I hope Murray doesn't offer him a contract until then though. Happy with Aggy, we have 3 very good centre midfielders, which is a nice position to be in. McDougall's signing indicates he will start next season and the position is his to lose. To be fair, he has played pretty well when coming off the bench this season. I just hope he isn't on a big wage, especially when we have Ally McKerracher, who I hope either gets some serious game time or a loan to a league1/2 team next season.
  14. I don't see the increase in ticket prices being an issue for most, I think most will pay it. I do, however, see the possibly lack of student concession being a problem - the increase for someone aged 17 will be huge, especially for an age group not known for having much money. I think this will affect a lot of younger guys who attend most match, I think a lot of them are about that age. I can see a number of these possible life-long fans not buying season tickets and perhaps losing interest.
  15. Apparently Dumbarton are interested in young Clyde winger Scott Ferguson, who has scored 10 goals this season. We are also apparently interested in Annan's Kenny MacKay, 6'2" ex junior striker, who is apparently rapid and has a very decent goal record (13 in 26 starts this season).
  16. Fair play man, that is some commitment.
  17. St Mirren actually try and play football, which is one of the reasons they are where they are. Lennon is a pretty shite manager though, but the suggestion they are "horrendous to watch" isn't true, despite their results.
  18. I think Fleming has been unlucky with quite a few of the bookings he's received this season, he is a rather aggressive tackler, but usually he wins the ball, but often gets booked.
  19. Fraser's patter is repetive, but at least it's something apart from the silence only broken by abuse of our players. His son on the other hand constantly abuses Mark Gilhaney, it's ridiculous how often he does it. Last Saturday Gils has a pretty good game, despite this every time he touched the ball he was abuse - "You're shite Gil", "You've done nothing apart from put the ball in the net", when McDougall came on - "Can't be be worse than Gil, he was terrible" He's so blinded by hatred for Gils, it's ridiculous. Lots of people on here complimented Gils for a good performance after the game. It's literally only abuse that gets spouted by him toward Gilhaney, what does that do to motivate the player? Also Gilhaney's family sit not far from where the abuse is spouted from. He used to do the same towards Andy Graham. I'm so glad people like this don't go to away games.
