  1. He can header very accurately, which is a threat from set-pieces. However, I feel whilst defending he isn't too commanding in the air. Whereas Lithgow, even Nugget, seemed to command in the air a bit more. I think Graham is a bit similar to Gordon, who I also felt wasn't too brilliant in the air.
  2. I thought that it could mean a Graham - Smith partnership as well. I hope it isn't though, neither are too brilliant at heading the ball and they both severely lack pace. Although it would mean a right footer, and a left footer at centre back. However, I feel Smith is better at left back than centre back.
  3. O'Brien has only started against us once, in the 2-3 penultimate game of last season, where every Cowden player played poorly. So I hope you understand why I didn't say I would want him.
  4. Flynn is a decent enough keeper, but can be caught out very easily, with proper scouting. We got Craig Gordon to scout him, he found his weakness, coming off his line far too much, and then we exploited it. Brett is nowhere near as good as McGinn, it would be laughable to suggest otherwise. Armstrong is pretty good, but wouldn't work with Graham - They are too similar, and both too slow to work as a partnership. Therefore I wouldn't have him, otherwise I would have thought he'd be an alright signing for us. Adamson - Wouldn't get in a left back, and isn't anything too special at centre back. O'Brien - I can't remember him playing against us. Stewart - He is a player I really like, and he would walk into our first team IMO. Linton - Already commented on him.
  5. He will be back up. McDougall, on his day, can be the best winger in the league . Smith is a very, very, solid left back. He won't get in ahead of them, but he is decent cover.
  6. I think I've seem him play centre mid as well.
  7. We are signing a Cowdenbeath player? There is only one I would have: Stewart.
  8. It looks like he was going to be our right back for next season, before McGinn re-signed.
  9. We are making another signing tomorrow.
  10. Barron wouldn't even get a game with Clyde, terrible player. McGinn is better than, or at least as good as, Vanzy, and will be much better.
  11. This. Lithgow and, probably even, Graham are quicker than Smith.
  12. He is decent enough back-up, nothing more; nothing less. He will be a squad player, and his versatility might just be very useful. He had a very good game partnering Andy Graham at centre back in our first win of the season. However, he also had some absolute shockers as well: Airdrie, first game of the season, springs to mind. He is better than that Urquhart guy we had on-loan from Sevco, he can also do an alright job at left back, for a few games - although I wouldn't want him to be our only cover at left back - he could also give a degree of dig in centre mid, if Turner was injured.
  13. He said it on sports sound the other week.
  14. Murray has already said he'll play 4-4-2 and go out to try and win games.
  15. No. Turner is brilliant at protecting the back 4, covers/ fills in for the centre backs and loves to tackle, Aggy has recently grown some baws, the wingers, especially Gils, have been tracking back loads, and really putting in a shift defensively under Murray.
  16. Would still be more useful than Creaney.
  17. Just looked it up, you're right. Almost 5 years without a right back scoring for us.
  18. I reckon we're a good striker and a centre half, preferably Lithgow, away from a very decent starting XI. .......Grindlay/Keeper McGinn Graham CB Smith Gils Turner Aggy McDougall ......... Fleming ST We then need another keeper, 1/2 more defender(s), 1 or 2 wingers, a couple of centre mids and another striker. Won't all happen though.
  19. McGinn is a absolutely fantastic signing. His assists and goals will be vital, as well as his solid defensive performances. Him and Gils seem to have a great partnership on the right wing, I hope that continues. I actually can't remember the last right back to score for us.
  20. A decent defender, centre back or right back, and a striker, with pace, would be brilliant.
  21. He said he will play 442 and go and try to win the game. He said we are very close to being able to compete with the "big clubs" wage wise.
