  1. I don't think we need defensive cover, I think a centre mid would be more beneficial.
  2. He is talking about how he would celebrate his wee boyfriend scoring.
  3. You seem to be comparing McNiff and Linton. No one claimed McNiff is better than Linton. Linton is a good player, but I feel he isn't good enough defensively to be our first choice left back.
  4. I reckon Prunty, Megginson, McKerracher, Horne and Mcnifff will start.
  5. I don't think Linton is a bad player, technical he is very decent, he has a great touch. However, I don't think he is solid enough defensively, albeit a step up from Creaney. When he attacks he takes ages to get back, and he gets stuck up the pitch when they are on the break, and doesn't put too much effort into getting back.
  6. We also need another centre mid, one who can defend. A proper box-to-box would be brilliant. I wasn't at the game on Saturday, but it sounds like the midfield was overrun. I can't understand why Murray thought Phinn and Agnew would work as a balanced partnership. As a last resort I could understand, but when Fleming and McNiff were available I find it baffling. But, I suppose, he is a young manager so will obviously make mistakes.
  7. I think what he means is, Lithgow is quick for a centre back, especially one in our league. The average centre half in our league is slow, to very slow. We don't really 'need' a pacey centre back. We just need someone who can defend. I personally, don't think Linton is very good, at all, defensively. Smith needs to be at left back. Smith is a very solid first division (not using the new shitey name) left back, but a very average centre back. We definitely need another centre half, I'm a big fan of McNiff, and at times last season he looked not too bad, but I don't believe he can step up to the plate and cement a starting spot. I can't really think of any centre backs that are available, I really hope Murray pulls a bunny out a hat.
  8. Chizzy will come back and play centre back.
  9. Is it Alan Adamson's fault that we need centre half?
  10. My thinking is that some of last nights trialists will be signed up by Thursday. ETA: Actually I reckon it will be mainly youths, plus S. Smith, Aggy, McDougall, K. Smith
  11. Decent game, we played pretty well. We played some good fitba, whereas Brechin kept playing the ball over the top, which the defense, especially Smith, dealt with well. Riordan played left wing, didn't look up to much. All the other trialist impressed me. Smith looked very good, wasn't impressed with him on Saturday, but he was very impressive tonight. Kirkpatrick looked good, he has some touch, created a few chances and almost scored a belter of a volley. Phinn was full of energy, and was getting involved, couple of good passes/ pieces of play. McGinn was excellent, as per. Turner was involved a lot more, in an attacking sense tonight, but still didn't offer as much defensively as he did last season. Megginson was impressive again. Linton looked good, in an attacking sense, again tonight.
  12. Kevin Smith didn't impress me too much. Ross Smith also didn't impress me too much, there were times when he looked like he just didn't know what he was doing, especially defending from corners. I thought Linton looked terrible defensively. Scott Smith has to play left back this season, he is much, much better there. Very solid left back, very average centre back. Turner looked off the boil again. I really like the look of Meggison.
  13. I'm very pleased with the Kevin Smith signing; not so much with the Owen Ronald signing.
  14. Dundee have about 6 strikers, having just signed 2 the other day.
  15. If we make 4 signings it will be: A first choice centre half, first choice striker, a cover centre mid and a cover winger.
  16. McCleish is a weird one, was released by Stirling Albion, 2 seasons ago, after no being able to get a game there. Lamont was outstanding for us in the Second Division, he is fast, can glide past players with ease and put a cracking ball in the box. However this season he has really struggled with the physicality of the league, the need to put 110% in and to defend.
  17. Apparently Ian Murray offered Eadie a 3 year deal after the match.
  18. They ship all over the world, there is a table of prices on th OS.
  19. The hyperlink to the page seems to have been taken down, probably deliberately.Anyway, here is the link: https://www.dumbartonfootballclub.com/store/default.asp ETA: It has probably been taken down so that it can be updated, that or the products are no longer available.
  20. I wouldn't imagine it would be too much. It's a fair trek to get there using public transport, can't imagine many Sons fans will want to make it.
  21. I'm assuming the 2000 in his name is his year of birth.
