Remember when you played a semi final at Easter Road in 2014 and didn't sell out?

You barely if ever sell out your own ground. The crowd you are bringing today is shite, no ways about it.

However,  I hope the ones that go enjoy it and as much as it suits Hearts for Aberdeen to be nowhere near the final I still want you to beat one of the gruesome.

I think it's also hard to justify the claim that Hampden isn't a neutral venue for these fixtures just because it is in Glasgow, never mind label it a 'scandal'.

What end will celtic be in tomorrow?

What part of the country is the referee and governing body from?

How many refs are from outside Glasgow and Renfrewshire?

    What city are celtic from?

They have the advantages before a ball is kicked, Having more fans there is another one but that's not their fault

In my own case, my wife is working dayshift on Saturday so I'm home looking after the wee one (19 months old) as we've no family within 100 miles of us. I'd imagine for others a mix of family responsibilities like above, being put off by the crap season and for some, the ticket prices will be hard to justify.

I'm not having a go but there will be fans of every club in similar situations.  My wife would be getting told to take a holiday 😂

Ticket sales are good for us. Don't know why people think otherwise.

This will be the first time since the Hibs semi in 2000 where we'll have less than 10k at a venue which is essence 3 hours away. There's absolutely no way any other club bring that figure to Pittodrie outwith Celtic and Rangers.

There's absolutely no incentive to go tomorrow. Horrific record against Celtic, horrific record at Hampden and officiated by some Glasgow numpties. Add in that it's £40 a ticket in the south stand. I can see why people have said no to going.

They aren't good they are shite. If Hearts and Hibs were for some bizarre reason playing a semi final of the Scottish in Aberdeen they'd take more than 8k as would both Dundee teams I'd imagine.

The incentive is its a cup semi final watching your team.

Less than 8k, which is frankly disgraceful. Supporters Clubs are facing difficulties in selling bus seats. This poses a future issue for us in attempting to achieve a 50/50 split for the cup final if we emerge victorious.

Jeez. Aberdeens away support is normally decent for league games so why the apathy towards a semi final?

I think Hearts will be near 19/20k come Sunday albeit we have a better kick off time and only an hour to travel.

We were honking all over the park today. Annoying that Hearts hardly needed to get out of 1st gear to get a result. They've got tidy footballers who can move the ball about.

We, yet again, had the rabbit in the headlights look about us in front of an expectant home support.

That said what a brilliant achievement - back to back top sizes is incredible - well done to everyone at the club.

It is a great achievement for St Mirren,  bit more luck and you could've been chasing Europe. I like how you are starting to pack out the ground aswell with home fans, real positive for the game imo.

  6. We need a 20 team top league. I loved that last night, trip away from the usual places, old school ground, terracing and a bowling club round the corner welcoming everyone in!

The game itself given their injuries Morton gave it absolutely everything, very direct and a proper cup tie. I actually think too direct at times as the turnover of the ball when they were on top was too high. The Rory Delap throws they overused for me.

Hearts I thought our CM were poor, never got on the ball and took little responsibility for me. Lembisika is dug meat. Grant can toodle off too.

Second half I think we seen Morton tire and Hearts started to create good chances, if Morton had something to hang on to I think we wouldn't of scored. In the end we done enough and overall just deserved it.

Getting away from the ground was easy enough, Glasgow was a fucking shambles. 4 hours kip and up for work, worth it.

  7. I had all but given up on my st mirren & btts yesterday! Rather enjoyed it coming up on the screen in the pub! Robinson, must be close to manager of the year, I hate the "he won the league so got it" stuff.

Amazing how the leagues shite when it's not your team in top few places...

Who knew hiring a 300 year old gaffer with no Scottish league experience could go so well!

You mean the team with a fuckload more resources and probably 3 x the wage bill of Motherwell won. Then that is probably more accurate.

I thought we would concede before we did. In truth for all the possession Hearts had they did not trouble us much before our CB went missing for the hundredth time this season.

I thought we played well defensively until we did not. I also thought we were on top from 45 to 60 minutes but lack of a Van Veen or Biereth type player that could take advantage. In some parallel universe we would have had both of the aforementioned strikers on the pitch today. Were it nor for the fact that Arsenal are twats and we have no money at all. The biggest difference (ref budget) was the Hearts substitutes did make a difference. Our subs rarely do.

Not sour grapes at all. Hearts are the 3rd best team by some distance and are a mile away from the basket cases that Hibs and Aberdeen currently resemble despite the wage bill they also have.

    The better team won.

Of course we have more resources and should win but it's not always the case is it? Currently we are using ours better than we have for a long time.

Hibs and Aberdeen as you point out correctly aren't. Killie took points off Celtic again and we play Greenock in the next round of the cup...

Motherwell sat deep as they could and came for a draw, Hearts getting the first goal was always going to be key. It meant you had to change tactics an leave more space. That's not a criticism,  I'd expect us to do the same at Ibrox etc.

Hearts play like that first half most games, keep possesion, work and probe patiently and more often than not this year we eventually break teams down. Yesterday was routine in terms of how we play and how we have won matches.

Aye our budgets bigger, doesn’t change the fact the better team won.

  9. Stuffy first half, Motherwell sat in and Hearts were too happy to play it sideways. Real lack of creativity and movement. Lembisika rightly hooked at HT.

Better team won, Motherwell had a wee spell at the start of the second half but were too deep to be too much of a threat.

Shankland is ridiculous,  we need another option though as he can't play every minute. Third pretty much wrapped up.

  10. Mental game, looked like a goal was coming everytime with teams went forward.

Aberdeen play a stupid amount of long balls, how miovski has so many goals off it is incredible.

That commentator on Aberdeen tv is absolutely honking.

Miovski decision looks so close, disallowed Motherwell goal I think I'd be asking for a penalty for a shirt pull before the push.

    Looked a poor home crowd.

  11. I thought Hearts were excellent today. I was never too concerned as I know Airdrie play nice football,  thus Hearts team do aswell so was confident with better quality it'd be relatively straightforward. If it was a last year or Airdrie were a bit more direct it mightve been more difficult.

Thought the hoff and Beni were excellent.  Tbh I thought everyone in maroon passed it well today.

Airdrie are obviously a bit lacking up front but what an enjoyable team to watch. The passing out from the back was brilliant at times. Found myself applauding it. Credit to them, if that was my team I'd be happy with them, just came up against better players today.

Good crowd and hopefully a wee cash boost for Airdrie.  Bit of a shambles getting in our end but if they aren't used to bigger crowds I can understand it.

No.  I think we'll push them all the way.   Obviously they're strong favourites but we'll make it hell for them in Greenock.  Amazingly in the 35 years I've been following Morton we've never drawn the Jambos in a cup or shared a league.  Kind of wish it had been Tynecastle tho home advantage is obviously more beneficial to us.

I remember watching a cup tie on the TV at cappielow when I was wee, possibly against celtic. Big terrace behind the goal and folk watching from trees nearby.  Always wanted to give with Hearts but never had the chance until now!

They just guess, i think. The cameras arent even quick enough to get the exact moment the ball was played so marginal ones are just pot luck on what frame they stop at.

I think they thought it was off but didn't know what to do once they knew they'd make a mistake.  All a bit amateur tbh.

Good result for Hearts, thought we kept possession really well and I don't remember Clark having anything to do.
