  1. Was very impressed with the youth players, particularly McKerracher,Lumsden and The number 8. A lot of credit has to go to Lumsden in particular, being a young, inexperienced goalkeeper with a back four who he has never played with in front of him is incredibly difficult, and I thought he was excellent tonight. All in all a good start to the season. We will win the league now aswell imo.
  2. ^^^^^^^^Struggling to come to terms with the lack of Ian Murray in his life imo It wasn't a bounce game, there are no refs in bounce games,it was a Pre season friendly.
  3. No Ross wasn't playing,Kirkpatrick was the only trialist i think.
  4. Lost 5-4,some schoolboy defending cost us along with a very poor ref. 4 penalties were awarded all of which looked soft,Aggy scored a hat-trick and missed a penalty, the fourth was scored by a sub and i have no idea who it was! There was positives on an attacking front especially Aggy finally netting a trademark free kick. But the defending was criminal especially McNiff who looked very short of fitness. Still very little you can read into the game, especially with a referee who made Bobby Madden look average. On a concerning front McGinn and Mitch went off with knocks.
  5. Any other sons fans heading through to Hampden tonight?.
  6. I think we would be best to play him against Queens, then maybe against Falkirk then,If he plays well offer him a deal until January. He obviously has a great deal of talent its just case of getting him to use it correctly.
  7. In the reporter that Ross Smith would only signing on loan.
  8. I agree with you about Shay, its incredibly frustrating as he pulled off some brilliant saves today but was at fault for probably both of the goals. On the defence situation without a doubt next seasons centre back partnership will be Scott Smith and Andy Graham, today we had two unexperienced centre halfs who have never played together up against SPL opposition. Finally it looked like Mitch started up front before drifting more into the number 10 role. In the second half him and McDougall switched positions an so he was playing left wing/left forward. Player take time to gel and we need to give them this time. In Murrinho we trust!!
  9. I thought the trialist was very good,he reminded me of Lithgow but much more composed with the ball at his feet. He attacked the ball very well at set pieces aswell. Would be a decent signing imo. I was very impressed with Linton aswell, was composed and took his time on the ball to pick a pass,a definite improvement over Creaney. Anyway much to be positive about, roll on the new season!
  10. Aye I'd second that,Lamont had skill and was as gifted a crosser of a ball as I had ever seen. Ronald has pace and that's really it,still hopefully he'll prove us all wrong......doubt it though.
  11. Think the trialist is Ross Smith ex Dundee utd, certainly looks like him. Edit It is definitely him,was on loan at peterhead last season
  12. Aye,its some shift he's putting in!For anyone who hasn't seen it here's the link http://www1.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/competitions/scottish-football/8817052/working-at-the-car-wash,-yeah
  13. The return of Kevin "He'll eat yer children" Nicol to the rock, will be quite upsetting not seeing him in a sons shirt tbh
  14. Because our Steak and Gravy pies are beautiful
  15. Pretty sure JC signed him,his first game (as a signed player) was away to Ayr I think.
  16. Most of the fans problem was that he had plenty of time to pick a pass but chose just to lump it. Paul McGinn is a vastly superior player and you very rarely see him lumping it aimlessly, its the same with Jordi Alba (who is the best left back in the world IMO),he very never aimlessly lumps it forward.
  17. Wow really?. He was badly out of his depth with us last season, decent enough second div player but not up to the standard of the first, skinned too easily, makes rash challenges and his positional play is poor. Then theres his distribution, aimless hoofs up the line without ever picking out a man. He improved towards the end of last season but still is not good enough for the first divison. Think Ross Forsyth and you have him,but with slightly worse distribution. And considerably skinnier!. Would wish him all the best if he ended up with you guys but i think its unlikely. If he could improve his distrubution though he would be decent back up for most teams in the league.
  18. Would be excellent if Dowie would sign,a highly competent D1 player and better than Lithgow. Never even heard of Smith but I will trust Murrinho judgement should he sign.
  19. £10 entry for a friendly with Thistle, that's ridiculous. Still be going though!
  20. I like his name therefore he must be good,Mitch Megginson just sounds impressive. Trying saying it in a Jim Spence voice and it sounds even better!
  21. Daily Record says we are looking at ex Ross County and St Mirren winger Mark Corcoran. Never seen him play, seems to have spent most of his career at SPL/Div1.
