  1. One of my mates always shares this shite, every time I tell him to stop liking this made up scaremongering shite. He is a grown man for Chrisr sake. It's always the most ridiculous thing as well like this pepper drug one, simply no way this happens in reality.

If I think they can take the pwnage I usually link them to snopes.

If I think they're too unstable and might be a suicide risk I just unsubscribe. This applies to most people posting such shite sadly.

  2. Strange, I did music which is probably not classed as a "proper" degree, and there were moments where it was bloody hard work.

Course structure was a little lopsided, 1st year was probably the most intense although I believe they have sorted that.

Doing the degree has certainly had the desired effect - I learned a hell of alot and my critical skills improved pretty dramatically.

  3. On the subject of SAAS, has anyone received the maximum loan for their first three years and then applied for the same in the final year? I'm in this bracket, and I've heard that the loan received is reduced. Can anyone confirm, and if so, how much should I expect it to be reduced by?

    Many thanks.

I was pretty close to the maximum I think and I definitely noticed a reduction, I think it might have been about £500 or so.

But if the loan's going up anyway it'll probably go up.

  4. Well done. Don't listen to the negative 'there's no jobs!!!!11!!1!!' stuff. It simply isn't true.

I've heard conflicting reports for my subject, I'm hoping I'll find something though.

Congrats. I'll be trying for that in a few years.

What subject? My sister's doing biology teaching there next year

Cheers, it's music. You know, one of those pretend subjects ;-)

Best of luck when your turn comes around!

Jim Mackay Before hanging them I would give them paper cuts in their eyes and pour vinegar in it for years before hanging them
Alan Twaddle How about skining the fookers alive take there toenail and fingernails off then throw a bucket of salt over them then slowly dipped in a vat of caustic acid I guess that would send a msg to any other fooker who wanted to do this to there kids but instead they will be put in a cell in a bit in the prison nobody can get to them and let loose in 4 years with the taxpayer paying for them to have a secret life somewhere mmmmm dosnt seem right does it ppl

It wasn't a Zombie that posted this but it was probably the first time I've seen a post then instantly deleted them on the basis of that post. Cretin.

  6. Why don't we all just agree that most Glasgow Uni students are c***s and Strathy students are people who wish they were Glasgow Uni c***s.

I'm a Glasgow student who might be heading for Strathy next year for a postgrad, can I get clarification as to where I fit in to this.

  7. You're right, I'm making it sound like its overrun by the rugby team. There's plenty of decent folk, I just prefer my mates at Strathclyde to the folk in my halls (who aren't that bad tbh, even if I was saying they were earlier).

    Oh god... the rugby team.

    *shudders*

  8. Glasgow Uni students are fairly cuntish IMO. That's one thing that is annoying for me, I don't really hang about with folk at my halls (most of which are weirdos/dicks) cause I go out to Strathclyde all the time if I'm going out due to the people there being a lot more decent and less wanky, so they think I'm a recluse!

Still glad I chose Glasgow though. It's a much, much nicer Uni and area in general and there's still a prestige about a Glasgow degree because its such an old, respected institution.

I think at Glasgow the most cuntish ones are the loudest ones, hence you will notice them more.

I've found most people are generally alright.

  9. Forget numbers, let's put this into perspective: There are people in this country who can legally buy alcohol that weren't born when Toy Story came out.

Eta: What makes it worse is that I'll be a year older in 3 mins (that sounds odd, I know)

That made me realise there are people who can legally get married who weren't born the last time Scotland reached the finals of a major tournament.

  10. I was at Murano a few years back and while its a bit beige and dull, it's by and large quite safe.

Not going to say muggings and that never happen, but I think one person I know got mugged and that was in the Botanic Gardens of all places.

Although yes, getting to sleep can be a little difficult sometimes, would have been worth it if my flat had been in any way sociable.

  11. "Never thought I'd say this, but poor 1D!!! I hope their mums were in Africa with them!!!!!"

Aye, poor bunch of loaded young healthy adults choosing to visit some weans who are hideously impoverished and half won't live to see their twenties.

    Aye, poor fucking 1D.

    Moron.

  12. I signed a petition doing the rounds on facebook, and liked a group talking about boycotting the GUU until action of some sort is taken, but it seems that the protest against misogyny at the GUU is being run by fairly extreme leftists and feminists. There is talk of a protest on Friday involivng exclusively female speakers. I struggle to understand why barring men from talking, in a protest about equality of gender, is productive.

I like Glasgow Uni, but it seems that the leftists and extremists take control of anything that resembles a protest.

On another topic, got an Email asking me to vote in the SRC election, but apparently only one person is running. Unsure whether to bother voting now.

    Nail. Head.

It makes sensible political discourse around the uni rather tricky.

  13. I was there (though not involved in the incidents). It's not being handled well at all by the Union. Most of the Glasgow debaters are fuming (those actually involved are not active debaters but general GUU folk and former Board members).

Aye, I noticed your name signed on a statement (released by dialectic society?).

Again, not surprised. GUU culture can get pretty knobbish. Hence why things like the Iron Stomach are still official union events. Which is fucking vile incidentally.

  14. Seething yes, its one of those videos you see if people like it.

It appeared on mine because a friend of mine commented on it, clearly just some attention seeking twat, probably just found a video and claimed it was her and bang! centre of attention!

Somebody on my feed just posted

"on a positive note givin up smokin has gone better 2day only had 3

    cigarettes all day"

I don't think that's quite how giving up smoking works.

  15. This is much better than Only Revolutions. I find it hard to separate the first 4 albums for quality - I think this one might just join the club.

Big pop anthems like Black Chandelier and Biblical somehow have managed to settle in next to mathy angular stuff like Victory Over the Sun and Modern Magic Formula.

Only track I'd say is conspicuously weak is Pocket.
