  1. Fishcross (on the way to the Sterling Mills outlet) sounds like it would be reekin, but there's a crackin pub/ restaurant/ carvery that does brilliant food. Their steak pie is amazing.

Next time your team play at Alloa/ your wife drags you to Sterling Mills/ you visit the jail, go for something to eat at The Ochil View, Fishcross. It's on the main road.

I didn't think there was anything in Fishcross, but it does look very nice any time I've driven through! Just a bit small!

Rigside wins. Without a shadow of a doubt.

  2. Oooh the Hillfoots all taking a bashing in the last couple of pages, let me stick up as a resident of Alva.

Mentrie, Alva and Tillicoultry are all very mixed bags which is surprising considering the size of the place - there are very nice bits of all three, and there are bits that are full of jakies and neds. Alva for example has an area of council houses that look like late 40's prefab's and then several mansions as you head towards the hills. Alloa is the same although the worse bits tend to be worse, although I'm not sure I've found any redeeming features to Sauchie yet.

I've never seen any sign of social depravation in Dollar so I don't know why they got a mention - yeah it's full of posh fuds but you'd never be in any danger walking through it. In fact, on the main streets you're pretty safe in all the Hillfoots towns.

  3. In recent years the only place where I have been unsettled by a place in daylight rather than individual people is Ibrox. Then sure enough some jakie did start shouting, not sure at who - but I wasn't about to draw attention to myself by asking him.

I think I'll give that a miss if I go on a subcrawl again.

  4. The push must be on now to kick newco out of the game. Friday is the biggest day in the history of the SFL with regard to seeing what our clubs are made of.

    Do the right thing.

The way it looks the question has been asked then aye, that's what must be done.

If the only way to keep them out of division one is to reject the application entirely then that's what we've got to do.

  5. I remember that. An absolute shocker. It was like the Clyde/Celtic cup came in 2006 I think. Not even trying to hide the fact that the Old Firm were going to win, no matter what.

Despite the best efforts of Kenny Clark by allowing Du Wei to stay on the park and disallowing two (arguably three) perfectly good goals - we actually won that match 2-1 cool.gif

The beauty of it is was, one of our goals that actually stood was arguably offside - depending how you interpret what an active player is!

Of course if you're meaning the one in 2005 - there was less overt cheating going on from Craig Thomson, but we did have a perfectly good goal chalked off at 0-0, before we conceded 5.

  6. That's an appalling statement, there must be a strong resistance from the clubs.

If I were in these clubs position I would be demanding the resignation of Longmuir now along with Regan and Doncaster.

Also in their position I'd be talking with the like minded clubs and consider resigning from the leagues. If it were just one team like Clyde then they'd just laugh it off, but if a couple of division one teams threatened to resign...

If it goes through anyway and no resignations happen, I would hope Clyde would resign - I've missed Clydebank.

  7. I went for Spartans as I thought Cove didn't have the ground

I think it's just got a narrow pitch. I'd probably rather Spartans too, but would do everything to encourage applications from as many non-league teams as possible.

Only in Scotland can we rejoice in the demise of another Scottish Football Club and the possible severe financial implications that this may bring to your own/other clubs.

Rangers may now follow the Airdrie route and hostile takeover and rebrand another club. St Mirren were some of their Directors not in talks with Whyte a while back?

Most teams don't have 140 years of shameful sectarian historY, neither have most teams been fiddling Scottish football for their own benefit for the past couple of decades.

Also, if the clubs can't survive without Rangers - that's their own fault. It isn't like this happened overnight.

  8. Exactly.

What is needed now is #Spartans4SFL. Football fans need to be on it this next week; Rangers, Regan, Doncaster and the sycophantic media have been telt in no uncertain terms and they need telling again.

Spartans are an established club, been on the periphery of senior football for years, and I am sure the Chairman wasn't on the original tribunal just for a wheeze.

    #Spartans4SFL

There is a facebook group in support of Cove Rangers Cove Rangers for the SFL

    Anyone but Sevco.

  9. Indeed this can't be sailing too far from legal action being required uefa and CAS may be only way forward

Aye, but mercifully the SPL appear to have defied Doncaster.

The SPL voting no is an enormous step in the right direction. Now hopefully the SFL stand up for themselves and send Rangers into division 3 or preferably - oblivion.

    Doncaster must go.

    Regan must go.

    Rangers must go.

  10. I have to disagree but they are condemned by their actions that they enjoy their position and all the trappings that have went with that.

What they are doing now is shear self protection they are as guilty as dead Rangers supporters in their total denial of any wrong doing.

Really I would have more sympathy if they were just ignorant but it isn't this is actively creating an agenda for personal gain.

For too long these people have lived in this environment but seem unwilling to view this as a chance to change our game, it is obvious the supporters want to drive this new era and anything that threatens that will have to realise they could become a casualty if the diddy teams supporters gain a greater influence/

    You're quite possibly right.

They're either morons or totally morally bankrupt. Or possibly both.

Either way anything which takes these clowns, especially Traynor off the airwaves would be incredibly welcome.

  11. Saw copy of the record today...

Keevins and Traynor are absolute morons. They don't seem to understand where the resentment towards Rangers has come from. They, along with Celtic have made Scottish football uncompetitive, dull and manipulated the rules and distribution of money for their own benefit, and in the case of Rangers, then failed to stick to the rules they coudln't manipulate. All this while being bigoted and violent. Can they not see why the diddy team fans would like to have a go without them ruining it for everyone?

Also worth having a look at the Rangers fans on the hotline section - utterly crazy human beings.

  12. Would be interesting to see if the vote goes to the SFL 3 clubs, who would vote them in. Sadly I think Clyde would be one of them.

If they do I won't be back.

Given it's a CIC I would hope it would go to a vote, if it didn't it would make a mockery of the concept.

Good to see that season ticket sales are faltering in the SPL, the fans are making their presence known it seems.

  13. As i said...If you sell Davis and Bring in Gattuso you are saving yourself £20,000 per week!

Whittaker away and keep Broadfoot would save £15,000ish per week.

Sign Aluko and get rid of Lafferty and you will be saving £10,000 per week.

Sell Goian and promote Ross Perry will save...well i have no idea what Goian is on but would reckon it must be in the region of £15,000+pw and Perry will be on about £2,000pw. Another £10,000 pw week saved.

I can see Edu moving on and that will be a saving of around £15,000 pw and we have adequate cover coming through

There is £70,000 pw week saved without weakening the team greatly

The sale of these players will bring in close to £5 million.

It is possible to drastically cut the wage bill and stay competitive and it should have been done years ago.

I don't think you quite understand how much debt you are in.

  14. Got my results through for all the coursework today confirmed as A5,B1,B3,C1 the latter two being due to cock ups in two sadly important assignments.

Not sure how much of this gets carried through, its either the best 60 or the best 80. If it's the best 60 then I've got away with those cock ups completely.

  15. 140 years of history.

    They've lifted European trophies.

They have won over 50 titles.

They have lifted more domestic trophies than i care to research.

They have had hundreds of capped players and some pretty big names played for them.

They still have the Scottish record transfer fee paid.

After all this, the best thing about Rangers is this thread.laugh.gif

    Heartwarming stuff.

That's Tore Andre Flo isn't it...

  16. Something I don't quite get is where would a newco Rangers play. They can't be allowed to keep Ibrox, so surely they (or the creditors) just have to sell to the highest bidder and hope that the new owner decides the most profitable course is to rent it back to a football club?

I'd imagine Murray Park is a gonner.

Not that this should even be an issue of course, in any other league in the world they'd have been punted to the provincial leagues by now dry.gif

  17. Do SPL teams retain SFL membership, would a newco need to apply for both?

Thats a thought - if they don't, and Rangers 2012 were to remain in the SPL and get relegated, then maybe they'd then need to make their application for SFL membership which would then perhaps be rejected for not having 3 years of accounts? That would be embarrassing...

No... focus - get then expelled entirely, that's the only sportingly sensible solution.
