  1. Thought this might appeal to some of you guys http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/98842-nhl-soccer-cross-over-2630-added-col-nsh-stl/ link to a sports design forum where one of the members has did up an NHL/Football (soccer) jersey crossover. Some nice efforts (and some a bit off the mark) one example
  2. Terrific game 7 - back and forth all night. Kings off to the finals Terrific series
  3. Hawks made it a series when it looked like the Kings had their number. Couple of line changes from Q seemed to have freed up Kane in gm5 but he showed just how good he is tonight. Crawford also immense - quite a rebound from him after a poor series Winner takes all on Sunday for a date at home with New York on Wednesday. (ticket price for games 3 & 4 at MSG are reportedly $1150 - will obviously only increase once opponent known)
  4. Big night for Lundqvist and the Rangers Post mortem on the Pens is not pretty. Surely Bylsma is gone this time but will 71, 58 & 29 still be there? Hawks did it with a game to spare with Crawford excellent Hope the Kings can fight back as the Ducks could be tricky
  5. Couple of big game 7's tonight and tomorrow in the East. Hopefully the Hawks finish theirs in 6 tonight
  6. Jack Ryan - Shadow Recruit (2014) 6/10 Pretty predictable but decent spy thriller.
  7. Looking forward to this Apparently its being produced by the people behind Reaper which was awesome Be interesting to see what sort of tone it goes with
  8. Robocop (2014) 5/10 Disappointed. Lost a lot of the tongue in cheek of original and anything new they did add seemed heavy handed
  9. Bit of a tangent but found this thread on sportlogos.net very interesting Looking at stadiums and arenas that have been adjusted to allow multi-discipline use Some really screwed up solutions Its very north american centric but worth a look http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/96506-all-purpose-stadium-thread/
  10. Loved CAP2 and they tied this weeks Agents of Shield nicely into it (broadcast Tuesday in US) Problem is that it has left me wanting more and not sure how much they can develop on AOS. AOS Spoiler
  11. Doublebill of Monsters University & Iron Man 3 at the weekend MU was exactly as expected from Disney Pixar - Great film IM3 - 2nd viewing and enjoyed it all the more. Still feel there is just to many suits flying around though
  12. Wow what a game last night. Felt for the Leafs but they just stopped skating at 4 Semi final match-ups now known. Hawks have the Wings who surprised me by knocking off the Ducks who had a fantastic regular season. Old rivalry and never quite sure how these things will go - Hawks took care of the Wild with little fuss and without getting much (or needing much for that matter) from the top guys. Dont think Detroit will be quite so easy Kings v Sharks, Pens v Sens and Boston v NYR elsewhere
  13. Couple of good games today as the Hawks got their cup winning season off to a storming start with a 5-2 win in LA while the Pens beat out the Flyers. Just settled down to Leafs & Habs Delighted that all the talking is over

  15. Latest info sounds optimistic - NHL have came back with a 50/50 split with some adjustments to make up for the reduction in salary. If agreed it looks like we could have 82 game season starting 2 Nov. Not agreed by any means but sounds pretty positive
  16. taken from The Anfield Wrap article by Tony Evans http://www.theanfieldwrap.com/2011/08/returning-to-the-nightmare-of-hillsborough/ "Then the first unusual thing happened. An exit gate suddenly opened and there we were, inside the ground, our tickets redundant. “See you later,” I said. “Tomorrow,” he replied. Then he walked down the tunnel. His next words to me came some 36 hours later: “Have you ever felt someone’s ribs breaking under your feet?” Why did you go down the tunnel? The question came 20 years later, after an emotional visit to Hillsborough, this time in waking hours. “I think,” Tony said, “I caught a glimpse of the pitch. That was it. I knew it was the worst place in the ground. But I saw the pitch. You know what it’s like when you see the pitch.” When gate C was opened on the orders of the chief superintendent, David Duckenfield, a man in charge of crowd control for the first time on FA Cup semi-final day, April 15, 1989, thousands of fans spilt into the stadium bemused and clutching tickets. The only entrance to the viewing areas visible as they surged in was the tunnel. It led to two pens that were already horribly overcrowded. Now they were about to become fatally so. “As soon as I was in the tunnel, I knew there were problems,” Tony said. “There was no going back. Just too many people. I kept telling myself to be calm, not to panic. I knew that if my head went down under the level of the crowd, I wouldn’t come back up. But the pushing just carried on. “Then I was out of the tunnel. I thought it was over, just for a second. Then I knew it was worse. Much worse.” People were still trying to force their way through the underpass, believing, like Tony, that the sunlight and terraces meant safety. Instead, horror waited. “I’d been turned around, facing away from the pitch, so I didn’t know what was happening behind the goal. It was hard to breathe and stay upright, but it had gone past the point of struggling and moving. My elbow was jammed into a fella’s neck and he was pleading with me to move it. He kept saying: ‘I can’t breathe, I’m dying.’ But I couldn’t move it. Then he stopped talking. His head went under.”
  17. Todays Pens Flyers game had everything - rivetting play-off hockey The flyers look as though they have the measure of Pittsburgh and it could be all over on Wednesday
  18. Been anounced that it will return for 2nd season in September (assuming all the characters don't die in the remaining episodes on UK TV)
  19. Very Stick with it - its well worth it
  20. Watched the finale last night - awesome show and never quite sure which way it was going right up till the end Looking forward to S2
  21. Caught up with ep11 last night - feckin hell couple of previews released so far for ep12 finale http://youtu.be/-plKUmds1RQ <---- worth checking out See also its got 3 Golden Globe nominations today including both leads - well deserved
  22. The hyperbole went into overdrive yesterday with Crosby's comeback. TV schedules revised, Lead story on national news, 250+ press accreditation's granted and the kid didn't disappoint. He looked sharp but it was the Islanders to be fair Im glad to see him back and if the Pens can keep SC, Malkin & Staal fit then they gotta be favourites for the cup in June
  23. Some good action last night Jagr & Giroux linked up well last night for the Flyers added with a decent netminder they might be in with a shout this year Thought (Optimus) Reimer was outstanding for the Leafs - I think they will make play-offs if he stays healthy I believe it was a sell-out at ACC for HabsvLeafs but I think many were slow getting back to their seats for the 1st goal.
