  1. 100%. The obvious compare is Lewis Ferguson at Bologna. When they were both coming through I would have said Turnbull was the superior player, but watching Ferguson strolling round Serie A these days is tremendous. Also Bologna's a fucking brilliant city. This video is also excellent on the Scotland YouTube channel:
  2. So we're all looking forward to him absolutely cantering it in the Serie A?
  3. I have totally forgotten where this came from but honestly I felt like I was being gaslit by a football forum.
  4. I think the main issue is that he always lets the game pass him by. He can't hold the ball up to drag us up the pitch, he doesn't offer anything (regardless of opposition) to drag us up the pitch by his work rate. Do I have a personal vandetta against him? No. Do I think he's a complete waste of a shirt? Absolutely.
  5. The 5 sub rule only benefits teams with the budget to fill a bench with quality players. With us filling the bench with either kids or terrible footballers it actively makes us worse if we use all 5 subs. I understood it during covid & just after but we should stick it in the bin now.
  6. Me hearing people are ready to mentally check out of this season:
  7. We had a good first XI on the park today but everything that came off the bench was fucking rotten. Butcher's looking like he's done for good, SOD doesn't have the legs to play RWB and Oliver Shaw is one of the worst signings we've ever made. Vale's work rate was a huge part of why we were so successful in the first half to go from that to Shaw who is both terrible at football and a lazy b*****d meant we had nothing that could drag us up the park late on. So we just sat deeper and deeper right at the end. A great idea for a team who, famously, are watertight at the back.
  8. Wait til the cheque for the crematorium hits their bank account though.
  9. Have we considered he has told us but it was lost in the 487 hours of interviews he's given.
  10. The funniest thing that could happen here is Sam North buys the club.
  11. f**k knows. So there's questions over the appointment of a CEO before investment, but there's questions as to whether investment would mean they appoint their own CEO. Clear as mud.
  12. Get Castlemaine XXXX on draught in the Cooper Suite. Here we go.
  13. I reckon we grab the first investment opportunity from North America with both hands and go for it. What could possibly go wrong?
  14. Looking forward to the summary of the AGM as it's an entire room of people going:
  15. Neatly sums up our transfer strategy this season. Signing two left backs in January and by mid February one's been emptied and the other is broken.
  16. I don't think I'm enjoying our drawn out attempt to sign the Sligo Rovers team that papped us out of Europe.
  17. I work with a guy who is a Port Vale fan who was telling me a number of their players at the time also have said he was a crackpot. To the point where it ended up in a scrap on the team bus with Gannon getting papped off it https://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/horsfield-gannon-port-vale-bus-3533637 See if a manager has a falling out with the players & staff at one club, that's kind of understandable. Sometimes these things happen. When it's happened at just about every club they've turned up at it would suggest there's a common denominator.
  18. He's not very good at any role in midfield. We've tried him as a 6 where he is miles off it defensively and when we're sticking him as a 10 he always picks the wrong option when in a promising position. Kind of feels like an AI generated bottom 6 Scottish Football midfielder. Runs about a lot, offers f**k all constructive.
  19. Just annoying that we continue to be unable to deal with set pieces. I feel for Kettlewell here because you can't legislate for individual errors that we make every week across every defender we've got.
  20. I suppose Kettlewell's on a bit of a hiding to nothing. Pulled off a miracle last season, got tasked with gutting the squad and got next to f**k all to replace folk that were left. Mainly I'd like the higher up folk at the club to sort out what we're meant to be doing.
  21. We should, hopefully, appoint someone soon who will hopefully have a long term plan. I was being kind of flippant about Burrows earlier but also I know how much effort I put in when I've known I'm leaving a job.
  22. We had a chairman who'd been half arsing it, who knew he was on his way out that Winter, and honestly i think he just couldnt be bothered doing anything other than hiring Hammell.
  23. I think it was investigated for the East Stand but was prohibitively expensive as you'd more or less need to knock it flat and build a new one. I'd imagine the only stand that you'd be able to do it in, really, would be the Cooper but I don't think the club would bother tbh.
  24. This is fantasy. He was a good keeper at this level for 18 months. His form has gone off a cliff over the last 18 months which coincides with us being a bit of a clown car of a football club. To say he's "fucking shite and always has been" is wildly revisionist.
