I cannot take any mention of Newcastle seriously in this thread.
Unless there's a nominal fee of course.

I am barely even whelmed by yesterday. It's a fair point that one of the real drop offs from last season was going from Johnston/Furlong to SOD/Spencer tying himself in knots to get onto his right foot. So with that in mind it's probably not awful that we've got a few extra options out there. However I don't think it was our biggest problem.
Biereth is involved in the majority of our goals scored this season and left on the 18th. Alongside emptying Wilkinson & Shaw it's left us with Bair who has a total of 5 career goals(who I'm also convinced isn't a striker) and a complete unknown quantity in Vale. Obika might surprise us by being fit for a game at some point but I'm not exactly confident.
Ketts must be confident that Butcher, Casey & Blaney will improve but as it stands I'd be playing McGinn & SOD as 2/3 of our back 3 from here on out. Who knows if we missed out on a defender.
From what we're hearing about missing out on forwards to other teams, and I don't mean the alleged duffel bag full of used bank notes for KVV, it suggests we're skint. I don't think we're struggling to keep the lights on skint, but we're certainly struggling to attract players. Not helped by the last couple of years of bullshit we've been pulling around managerial appointments/sackings, botched stadium renovations and an even more botched attempt to have a CEO I'd imagine.

We just signed a right back. O'Donnell and McGinn can play right back. It is shambolic. Why did we sign Callan Elliot if we need another right back. Kettlewell is obsessed with full backs. I think we have signed 6 this season
Gent, Souare, Spencer, Callan, Montgomery, Devine
Have 3 wingbacks on either side putting them on a plate for big Thelonius to score 15 before May. Tactical masterstroke imo.

Right, I've somehow been talked into going to IKEA where mobile phone reception is sketchy at best, by the time I come out I want us to have announced a right back, left back and a proven goalscorer. Failing that, I'm eating my own body weight in hot dogs and ice cream.
If you don't come home with a sack full of cinnamon buns it's a trip wasted.

That is genuinely wild assuming the rumoured amount the big man is on are even vaguely true.
True but haven't you heard the Killie players are getting paid in blank envelopes stuffed with used bank notes?

Already feel bad for whatever poor c**t we get on loan from the English doldrums at 2327 tonight. Social media mentions are going to be a bin fire.

It's impressive how little we've done to improve anyone's life recently.

Aye that's defo wrong. McKenna signed for Copenhagen...
Always thought he was a bit of a huddy so turning that into a jolly round a class place? You can only say fair play.

Aside from the, slightly tongue in cheek, chat about Ross Tierney being one. There's only one guy who is Das Raumdeuter and he's one of my favourite football players of all time.
FM can have you looking for a Mezzala/Enganche/Shadow Striker/Regista but they're all just different flavours of midfielder really. Big Tam Muller is one of a kind. https://thesefootballtimes.co/2017/03/31/thomas-muller-the-first-and-possible-last-ramdeuter/

Ciftci is probably a good example of that type of player.
You're not suggesting...

Nick Daws is currently hanging about the car park at Powerleague seeing if anyone wants a game.

Considering every rumour we've had has wound up elsewhere I can't wait to see what waifs & strays turn up on our doorstep in 36 hours time.

I've nae idea how you'd even track this but we have to be, by some distance, the worst for conceding goals from set pieces. Seems to happen all the bloody time.

It's probably down to clubs trying to rely on quantifiable things when signing a player. Signing a player with physical attributes you can mould to what you need rather than ability. Which is a real shame in terms of entertainment. Something satisfying about watching a guy play like he should have a tab on. Berbatov is one of my favourites for this. Guy barely looked arsed while having a first touch like he was trapping a bag of sand and scored worldies without breaking a sweat.
I agree about watching less football overall. I watch Motherwell & Scotland but don't really give too much of a f**k about anything else these days.

Here's wee Monty's time at Fleetwood in the first half of the season:

I guess what I'm saying is that there was probably a chance this might happen...
So we've signed Souare, Obika & Montgomery who all have these injury histories and are shocked when it turns out they're injured.
What the f**k is our recruitment department up to man.

Did we disturb an ancient graveyard when we were renovating the east stand or something. Absolutely cursed season.

This season has been one absolute scunner after another.
My previous statement still stands.
Get this whole fucking season right into the nearest wheelie bin.

I've come to the conclusion that Hammell was being willfully naive or deliberately talking out his arse ok that one.
I've mentally separated Hammell the player from Hammell the manager.
Hammell the player: professional, consistent, clever.
Hammell the manager: an idiot.
That's what I assume fuelled the Johnston situation.

I thought years ago he looked handy but after his knee injury he never looked the same. When he rocked up at Aberdeen he looked rotten and I don't think there's been a big improvement since.
